A story of endurance! Your attitude is something that stood you well in staying the course and giving it your all. Every birth is personal and they are all a bit different. I'm glad you got there in the end with minimal trauma. Congratulations to you both on the arrival of your gorgeous baby girl.

I like hearing birth stories to help prepare for when I'm there one day, thank you for sharing! It's crazy and cool to think you grew and human and then delivered her. My body cringed at the catheter part and stitches part. Hearing how much you wanted a vaginal delivery made me tear up when she came out. I nearly started crying again at the end when you held her up. Congratulations!

Congratulations! 🎉 That felt like the most realistic birth story ever. I’m literally terrified of needles, having my blood taken so it’s good to know there’s someone out there who’s had a baby with similar fears. I’ve not had a baby and don’t really plan to in the near future but your experience is kinda reassuring. I’m in Scotland too so good to hear you had a good hospital experience too. Enjoy the baby bubble 😊X

Congratulations Stefanie! Your pushing stage sounds just like mine, you’ve made me feel so much better about it as I felt I was just rubbish at pushing, no one mentioned to me that baby could have just been in a funny position 🤦🏼‍♀️. I was fortunate that being wheeled up to surgery made baby move and he came out before they even got the cannula onto my hand 😂.

The baby yoda on your bed in the background 😂 congratulations! Thank you for sharing your quite challenging and traumatic experience with labor and birth! It sounds like you went through the ringer, especially with postpartum recovery. Being a mother is such an amazing journey and makes it all worth it. Hopefully you are feeling mostly back in good health. I hemorrhaged after my daughter and was gray for the first couple weeks as well and recovery was a very slow process, it must have been the blood loss!

You did bloody amazing omg! I had a theatre forceps experience too and list 2 pints of blood with a transfusion and my baby was also 8lb 3oz!!! My tears were into my cheek though and it’s caused me so much hassle ever since as it opened slightly as the stitches dissolved too quickly and and no one signed me off for sec. Leave sec as long as you can!!! Months even.

Heyyy Steph, just wanted to say congratulations 🎉 you are honestly a amazing women and you did so well. You have a a similar story to mine but I had severe preeclampsia on top of it all… I’ve got 2 little girls and had to have episiotomies with both it’s abit crap but honestly after a few years it all looks pretty normal again and feels ok. Please look after yourself as you did so well, I beat myself up for a long time after about not having a natural birth with no stitches but have done a lot of healing now… I love you girl you are amazing and so brave!!! Enjoy those squishy cuddles and baby smell because they grow super fast mine at 6 and 2 now! Take care and thanks for sharing your story wink 😉 x x x x x

Had a similar birth experience with my first with the NHS which ended in me being bullied into a section 😒 now I understand that it was unnecessary but the medical staff need to follow their time protocol. Have had 2 babies naturally at home with private midwife since and a 4th on the way! X

For me breathing did nothing, especially with my first I tried hypnobirthing but I got induced and the back labor was SO bad. Thankfully it went fast, My second came naturally without induction and it was way better. It was manageable until push contractions came. This id rate 11/10 XD. I feel like my start was like yours tho, for 2 days I had these contractions , without consistency and I had to poop SO often. I couldnt even sleep through many of the contractions so I was super tired by the point I had to push. But then all of a sudden it went fast and I felt like I had to push so we drove to the hospital only then and I pushed 10 mins

U had me in stitches with the whole poo thing that was how I felt too 😂 ur 1st birth sounds much like mine except by the end of mine every time I pushed her heart rate slowed down I had been in labour days too so in the end it was a spinal block and venthouse delivery to get her out then I was just like a whale being dressed cuz I couldn't move my legs lol. Subsequent births after her were much easier though I think 1st births are the hardest. My poor little girl had a lump on her head for months after cuz of the suction but it had to be done.

Lol I know exactly what you mean by not knowing where to push when on epidural/spinal tap. Had my son 3 weeks ago and overdone it with the epidural top up button, my legs where like heavy lumps of meat 😶

When I had my son I had forceps and episiotomy. When the pain relief wore off I felt like I'd been smacked between the legs with a cricket bat. I was in a ward with 5 other mums and you could tell the ones who'd had the episiotomies because we would literally waddle like penguins from the ward to the tiny cafeteria at meal times. 🤣

I'm so sad for you that your midwife didn't notice your bladder being so full until you were hours into pushing. There are also so many movements you could have done, including inversions, that could have helped your baby to rotate, again if they had noticed sooner. Your birth story sounds so frightening to me and it really sounds like suboptimal care.
@jadefoley15
@jadefoley15 9 месяцев назад
From the way you explain it, was your baby in distress? It sounds like they must have been for everything to move so quickly.
@jadefoley15
@jadefoley15 9 месяцев назад
A spinal block works in a very similar way to an epidural, it's just that the spinal is a single procedure into your spinal cord, and an epidural is into the dural part of the spinal cord and can be continuous.
