@@Meatsweats_o_O Very much this. .22 plinking is about the most affordable(some other ammunition gets expensive quickly) and virtually anyone can partake because it's not intimidating or overly loud.
Love seeing all this together. I’m a huge edc guy and I hate that edc is just mostly gun, knife, wallet, keys, etc. I know most of the edc community uses a lot of tech but they never show it off. The two should go hand in hand. This video just made me like this channel even more than I already did.
My edc consists of just my wallet, phone, keys, multi-tool(includes knife and gun as well though. You dont really need a bunch of tech stuff with your edc
Practicing proper trigger discipline has immediately earned my respect, good sir. Treat every gun as if it's loaded and keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to fire.
12:35 thanks for clarifying on that, I was about to say it's far from an ideal EDC. Regardless, it's an awesome pistol. I think you'll find that that a large enough majority of pc builders are also into cars and firearms. It's the whole tinkering thing.
@@CurtisDishman .22 hollow points have come a long way. Plus it's not super loud so you can still have a sense of what's going on around you. As a father of a 1.5 year old you can bet up until the day he was born and thereafter I became more interested in firearms, especially due to the state of things in this country. I won't be caught with my pants down and I will do my best to ensure my child's safety.
@@m3gaz3nI definitely recommend watching Hard2Hurt. He's an ex SWAT police officer that now runs a self defense gym and gives all sorts of tips and advice about self defense, with and without firearms.
We need a randomfrankp rangeday vid! as others have said im glad you clarified that .22lr is for plinking at a range and not really self defense, especially with subsonics since .22 isnt very big. would love to see a little bit more firearms content on maybe a second channel or something.
I watch you so consistently; seeing the thumbnail out of context was like whiplash 😂 I've played your videos on our TV before and my husband was never interested UNTIL he saw your mk IV because he ALSO has a mk IV. You convinced him to finally get the pull tab that I was going to buy him for his birthday lmao DAMN YOU
I’m sure I’m not the only one who wouldn’t mind an alternate channel that’s dedicated to firearms and keeping with ur usual content reviewing different or unique accessories that you find
@@fungdark I didn’t hear him try to sell anything all he said was he’s happy with the gun he purchased and uses it at the range he never s aid go buy one Also children can’t buy guns until at least the age of 18 (a legal adult) hope this helps :)
I am glad you clarified that .22 was for fun. Far too many people think they can carry .22 for self defense. And yes you can do that, but it is not really a stopping power ammo. But that is a very fun gun to shoot I agree and your upgrades are nice.
@@autumn5592 I have been in a few gun fights where I would greatly disagree with that statement. Most true gun people can tell a .22 which is really just a step above a BB Gun. But hey if that is all your life is worth to you then so be it.
Yoooo that ruger is siiiick. Glad to see that you have good trigger finger placement! Too many folks showing off their firearms with the finger resting on the trigger. It's nice to see someone every once in a while that has good trigger finger placement.
As a non northamerican person, it's kinda wild to have a gun as an edc (tho you said this one was just for range, you mentioned you use another for protection). I'm not complaining or whatever, it's just that it's shocking how normalized guns are on your part of the world! Any way, now I have an itch for a new wallet 😂 also thanks for the gel pens! My favourite pen is a pilot gel pen but every single one I've bought stops working days after buying them and it's a pretty common thing on that specific model. With how cheap yours are, I'll definitely give them a try!
Give us Americans some credit. There are a lot of things in the US that can be very dangerous. I live near a city of 500,000+ but mountain lions were spotted nearby. It's stay strapped or get clapped out here.
@@WinchesterxNL I mean in Europe your land predators are in Scandinavia and Russia. You don't have much chance of a 90kg cat jumping you. Your brown bear population is all in the north and east. I'm maybe an hour from them and an hour the other way from that city of half a million. Most of the venomous snakes snakes are in parts of France (good) or the east. Europeans just don't have to deal with nature like Americans (mostly because you destroyed it all) but within 200km, I have 40+ breeds of venomous snakes, 800kg bears, 90kg cats, 150kg bears, 20kg cats, wolves, and coyotes. All of which can have rabies. But the most dangerous animal of all the 7/11 crackhead is still wild here.
@@Rurik_Luci Where I live, the Netherlands. We do have some dangerous animals here still. Wolves are becoming more common again, we have a snake which I'm not sure what the English name for it is. The Dutch name is the Adder. Which I think is a Viper? Though do feel free to correct me if you know the better name for it. Boars are also still a thing that can be dangerous too. Sure they're not like the bears, wildcats, cougars (and not the sultry 40+ year old kind, we have those as well) coyotes or anything else. And it's not so much that we killed them all or anything, we do have quite a huge nature reservation law here. We just make sure those areas are closed off for humans. It's a different approach, but for us it seems to work. Not sure how effective that will be to the 7/11 crackhead though. Those haven't been around here, from my experience. At least I haven't seen one in the wild yet. Some alcoholics or other junkies, sure. But they tend to hide in their own shelters, they're mostly harmless. I get needing guns and such. Don't get me wrong. I fully understand that the US can be quite dangerous, especially in the wilderness (or the suburbs even.) It's sometimes just a bit wild to see all of that in comparison. Since your second amendment isn't something that's quite a thing here. And a lot of other areas that do also have gun regulations in the US are in major cities, which have little to no wildlife. But people still feel the need to carry (concealed, open, doesn't matter) to have a genuine feeling of safety. Because "what if the robber pulls a gun on me." when over here, being robbed is not going to happen with a gun, in most cases it would be with a knife or something like it. And even if a gun was present, hardly anyone here would consider pulling a trigger. There's this difference. As for shooting ranges or something, I believe that there's a total of 50 here in the Netherlands? I might even be highballing that. Though I'm no expert in any case. Lol. There's just a sheer difference. And it's sometimes pretty wild to see. As I'm sure you'll also have a few things you'd think is pretty wild as well that we might do that's not common in the US.
@@Rurik_Luci This is some high level fucking trolling holy shit. You carry a gun so that you can shoot someone. Against a mountain lion or other large wild animal an American would do something smart like putting proper measures in place to avoid confrontation, respecting physical boundaries, maintaining clear lines of sight and exit routes and of course having a set of de-escalation techniques in reserve.
The Ruger mk4 is an absolute dream range plinker. As someone who grew up with firearms, I’ve had a .22lr gun in my collection since the beginning and the Ruger mk4 replaced all of them. It’s great to practice with and get comfortable with pistols. People really underestimate how hard it can be to shoot accurately with a pistol so it’s important to put a lot of time in and get used to it. Shame we don’t get to see your actual EDC, I can understand why though. Btw I think it’s awesome you showed a firearm in the video. I saw a couple people down here complaining about it and cringing but I think it’s awesome. Lots of people don’t know what it’s like to A. Be attacked and B. Have something to lose from that attack. You have a family to protect now so i think it’s great to show off other parts of your life like this. 👍
The Ruger m4 is so underrated. I love mine and it's really fun to shoot. I'd never carry it, that's why I bought an M&P Shield, but it's a fun gun to own.
Every time you post I learn something new about you that impresses me. After my daughter was born I fell into the gun world and guntube kinda hard and tech has always been a love of mine as well. Never would I have expected you to be into firearms as well though, very cool!
In case anyone cares.... I EDC a Leatherman Free P2 (great multi-tool, doesnt include niche tools you would not use often), a Coast G22 pen light (decently effective, inexpensive, and uses AAA batteries), and a Zebra F-701 (100% stainless steel construction, Ive had the same one for two years with refills). I use a leather holster from Tale of Knifes to hold them all on my belt. Most of their stuff is made to order so it takes a few weeks to ship, but I love its quality. I have had mine for two years and I expect it will last decades more.
First comment on your channel just to say I love your content and I love it even more now that you've branched out a bit here 😁 I like to watch while doing some chores and your slight innuendos make me laugh out loud all the time.
Well the gun definitely seems to be the conversation piece in the comments. Lol. I'm European, so we don't have those things here for "edc" or anything. But yeah it looks cool. I like the watch a lot, it looks really cool. Same for the laptop and the cover that you have. Ordering those pens as well, because like you. I do like pen and paper, but not into the techy and expensive pens. They seem pretty slick.
As a Canadian, it feels really weird to see all these comments praising showing off/carrying around a gun or using them as a hobby. I don't remember the last time I've seen one in person, but I'm sure it was a police officer with it holstered.
I have the 2023 M2 Pro MacBook Pro in the 14 inch version and with the 15 pro max my workflow as a junior him high school as really increased, and has gotten faster and smoother
It’s refreshing to see so many other longtime viewers that are fellow firearm enthusiasts in the comments. I saw the thumbnail and thought it was a Colin Noire video popping up in my sub list. Love the mods to the Ruger. Not my favorite gun but it’s a great, fun weekend shooter. Also appreciate the clarification that this isn’t a good choice for concealed carry or personal protection. Would be great to see what the rest of your collection looks like.
It’s just a 22. As he said, you wouldn’t use that as a carry weapon. Another thing to note is how his finger is never on the trigger and he doesn’t point the barrel directly at the camera, meaning he’s been properly trained in how to use firearms.
Of all the years I have been watching you I never once realized you're a fellow Pennsylvanian, or a fellow firearms enthusiast. I would LOVE to see you do a gun channel collab with somebody. There isn't a whole lot of Pennsylvanians in the GunTuber space, but maybe you could collab with somebody at Shot Show or something, if you go out there or hit up CES since those two events are usually one weekend apart.
Ruger Mark IV in thumbnail was surprising for sure…. Love to see it! 😏 Also, swapping out the charging handle is a must to avoid pinching your fingers, good move!
Man that ruger will be hard to conceal with that long slide. I just upgraded to the x macro, a little bigger than I wanted but it fits my hand perfectly.
Cool Ruger! I've had my eye on one of the for the longest. I do have some Tandem Kross parts though and MAN they are AWESOME! Such high quality 22 parts! Great build👍🏽
Been a fan for many years now and you easily cemented many more for not only the fact that you enjoy guns. (As they are tech as well if for no other reason haha!) But also for your courage to show this interest in a world where more and more it seems we are no longer allowed to express our interests through our speech and platforms of conveying that speech. Not to mention the wrongful stigma that surrounds guns and the lawful gun owner communities. Thank you Frank!
I once picked up a branded pen with a black Kaco cartridge inside. When opening it up after writing for a bit, it really surprised me that it wasn't from a pen brand with a larger share of the market (Pilot, Zebra, Uni etc.) Really consistent and the lines were among the darkest I've seen out of all black pens. Unfortunately needed to move on pretty quickly, though, since the pen didn't last for very long (only a month or two, if I recall correctly -- far shorter than something like a Pilot G-2).
Watching Frank, the keyboard-guy, family friendly youtuber and family man, show off his blacked out firearm, as a european is very odd tbh. Either way the gun looks sick and from what it sounds like, the performance of it is pretty sick as well :D Great video, Frank!
Thought it was the Ruger! Super clean piece, thought about getting one a few months ago as well but went with the new Taurus 22 lr instead. I also changed the charger to a ring and the compensator from tandemkross 🤣 might have to make my own blackout edc vid now! Cheers Frank!
While the gun does look cool for the thumbnail and aesthetic, I was really hoping it was just a prop gun. Like from "Men in Black". But what's more disappointing than you putting it in this video, is the comments you're making to other comments about the video. You really don't believe this is advocating gun use? Are you that naive? You're a tech channel that promotes product after product. I even bought two products just from your previous video yesterday. You are an influencer. Which means you do have a responsibility to your audience. Just as you shouldn't recommend a bad piece of tech, you shouldn't show guns in your videos if you don't want that to influence other people to buy guns. Especially with your "back to school" geared towards children and young adults. I still like you and love your channel but you have disappointed many of us today.
@@LetsgoBrandon2023 Did you think I didn't know I could leave? I shared my opinion. If you don't like it, you can stop reading it. Or offer up a different opinion.
@@REAPERManiaconsidering the fact there is nothing wrong with exercising ur 2A. right and he has the right to advocate absolutely anything he wants theres no problem. Other people can make their own decisions and he isn’t responsible for whatever they choose
Don't know how I'm only just now seeing this video, but it's awesome to see you throw that Ruger in to your EDC video. Maybe we can get a side channel of you reviewing guns???
no WAY! I would have never guessed that you would be into guns. That's awesome man. I love to see people who don't post about guns, be into guns. So many people are terrified that people know things like that, so they hide it or fall out of the hobby/protection in fear of backlash from uneducated people
I got my cert using the same gun. Just in case others may not be familiar, but the compensator's main purpose is to reduce muzzle flip, hence the ports are facing up, allowing the gas to push the muzzle down, and in effect increase accuracy with follow up shots. I really like the ceramic blade there in the phone case but something tells me i'll cut/poke myself more often than what i would expect. XD I'm not a pen snub but i'm always looking for some great pen to test out and use. I'll give those a shot since they do look great style-wise, ink-wise, and price wise. Great EDC show case!
