I'm glad I can put my own parts on it saves me so much cash!! I can do almost everything with my eyes closed because of RU-vid! The second receipt $700 that's crazy! All that maybe costed $200 $300 max

I definitely think problems and costs associated with owning an M5 are very exagerated by people that never really owned such a car. It is indeed a great car if it has been maintained well. Same goes for other high performance german cars, you have to maintain them very diligently, otherwise they will break your bank.

I just spent almost 15k on my m5 vanos solenoids are so damn expensive I had to replace all 4 each cost 2,000 plus vanos lines and get ready to do the rod bearings it's expensive to maintain but it's hella fun

Thank you for taking the time to put together that information. However, on many of the receipts you showed, I saw the word WARRANTY in the COSTS column. If those broken items that were covered by the warranty had to be paid, outside of the warranty, I suspect the operating cost of the car would be much higher.

I think u just got lucky with good one. If i know for sure it would cost me 1000 per year i would love to own this car bcz this my all time favorite.

Wheel and tire protection from BMW Is a great option. My friend had it on his e92. And what it does is it allows the dealership to replace the tire or rim if it goes flat or cracked. My friend talked his way to the Dealership and got 4 free tires every few months when one went bad. And 2,3 rims when they get cracked. It’s a great option.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND looking into repairing your car yourself. There are too many advantages by spending a few minutes looking up how to do something and deciding if you want to repair it yourself or not. You could of saved at least 2k on your oil changes and brake flushes. LOL

I think you missed a lot in this video, i own a 2006 m5 too, oil change must be done every year no matter how much km you done, every 80.000km rod bearings must be replaced, this costs about 2000€, in 11 years all brakes must be replaced, this costs about 1200€, every 40.000km spark plugs must be replaced and there are 10 of them, another 200€. the running costs with registration of this car is about 5000€ a year if nothing goes wrong...
