Is great that you managed to write this book since you're already one of the most trusted sources of SC education. I'm expecting that it will eventually come to amazon since (at least for international customers) it offers the best deals on shipping fees and taxes. But I'll get to it once it does comes to amazon (or a local bookstore in Mexico). Congratulations
big congrats on the book ! and great to see you again. it's been a while. huge fan of your tutorials. can't wait to get the book; can't wait for the new videos!
Hello Eli! I received your book some days ago and it's absolutly great and it's the perfect complement to your videos here on youtube!! Thanks!! Beryann (France)
@@elifieldsteelWhat's more, a large-format book with good paper quality is very pleasant to read! And it's very important... Is it possible to get back to you if a concept is problematic? Is there a specific place to do it? Thank you for your attention...😀
Congrats and thank you for all your efforts! Just ordered the book, hoping it will arrive in germany right in time for christmas and looking forward to your sabbatical '24.
Trust that I would buy this if I could, Eli. Im grateful for all the effort you´ve put in this yt channel. I watch your tutorials every night. Congrats on the release and greetings from Cuba!!!
I've had a bit of a Supercollider hiatus the last year or so, but your teaching has been such an awesome resource and outlet for me. Been waiting for this a long time, pre-ordering for sure! Will it get a UK release?
Thanks! Good question - not sure. I’m told the book will be printed in the US and ship from there. Unclear if it will be “released” in other countries.
@@elifieldsteel I'm Belgium, so I already started looking. It seems (at present) that it's available for pre-order on Amazon UK, which although maybe not the best place to have to deal with, it does show it can be bought outside of the US of A.
Thanks! I don't know for sure, but my guess would be no. If you buy paperback, that's what you'll get - you would probably have to acquire the ebook separately.
It’s true, unfortunately. There was a typesetting issue in the first set of proofs that necessitated this timeline change. Think of it like this - instead of rushing to print, the publisher and I are focused on getting everything exactly right. It feels a lot like a concert dress rehearsal. Hopefully, this will be the only pushback.
Hi Eli, I pre-ordered your book on the Oxford website. But the order was backordered because 'was not published'. I live in the Netherlands. What would be you recommendation for getting a copy?
Hi, and sorry to hear about the backorder. I did find the following information regarding backorders/pre-orders on OUP's FAQ page. It sounds like the best option is to wait, although I realize that's a pretty unsatisfying answer. If you've pre-ordered the book, it will surely get to you eventually. They also encourage you to contact their customer service, I'm including the link below. "We will place orders on back order for books not yet published or out of stock. Customers providing a valid credit card number will be charged only when the books ordered are shipped." global.oup.com/academic/contactus/customer-service
Weird, it works for me and at least one other person. Does this work? global.oup.com/academic/product/supercollider-for-the-creative-musician-9780197617007?cc=us&lang=en&#
Will certainly be buying , but just a query: will it actually ship from the USA? I'm in the UK and OUP wants to bill me in $ and has quite a steep postage price.
@@elifieldsteel Thanks for the info. I had naively assumed that something published by the OUP might have a UK edition! Never mind, I shall be buying it anyway.
Hi Eli - great news. The site says an ebook is available from 'your preferred ebook provider' but I can't find it. I prefer the ebook as I can have it open as I code. Any ideas where this might be found? And congrats again!
Thanks! I don’t really know. Do ebook providers even do preorders? They might only have the ebook when it’s officially available. I’m still waiting on receiving typeset proofs, and there’s still a little more work for me to do.
