if you’re not happy with the Docs’ leather, have you considered Solovair? Apparently, they were the original manufacturers of Doc Martens before they moved manufacturing overseas. Not as many options, but supposedly the leather quality is much better.

Yes!!!! I've been so in love with boots lately!! Picked up a pair of Red Wing Balcksmith and Moc toes, hoping they'll carry me through the winter!!!! Love the variety you showcased!!!

I get my boots from Thursday Boots. Dress boots, casual boots, Chelsea and chukka boots. Really happy with them. Also, I’m a big fan of those Cuban heels - and a big fan of your channel. 👍

Just got a pair of the Celine biker boots today, I had to fight for a couple of weeks to find my size. got the last pair on earth apparently and I am so so happy with how they feel and look, I cant wait to go out and enjoy them.

Some people have already mentioned it but the Dr. Martens leather issue is mostly from outsourcing production from England to Asian countries, and subsequently cutting production costs Two solutions are either to buy their current Made in England line, which uses better materials for a higher cost (~$230 instead of ~$150), or to thrift around for a pair of vintage, Made in England Docs

Dope collection, the variety is what does it for me. Recently received my weddings boots from a brand called Beckett Simmonon. I fell in love with the quality and the price (175$ after promo code). Took 3months because of Covid but they're well worth it for price and quality of made to order hand made footwear 👍💪

Watch rose anvils youtube channel, he cuts up shoes and boots to get to the quality. Dr martens arent well made. Definitely love the collection especially the 2 boots by that saigon company.

Recently the past 2 years maybe I’ve been really into wanting to own a pair of dresser boots and this year more rugged. I say look at Thursday Boots because those are the boots I’ve been looking at it and maybe check them out. I want another pair of Doc Martens again and there’s a pair Alex Costa has that they don’t make no more ;-;7 but yeah. The first sections fit more of my style from Streetwear/Dapper and now I’m gonna try techwear

From my understanding after doing a bit of research and buying my first pair of docs, the ones made in England are better quality. Idk if that’s the case here but it might be. Also I bought a pair from TCB earlier this year and had no problems other than the wait time.

As a whole, Doc Martens aren’t exactly a quality boot. They use what is known as a finished leather, which means they use a fairly low quality bottom grain leather and basically paint and lacquer over it. They used to be made of a thick tanned leather that was died black and then polished for that shiny look. They’re also can’t be resoled and lack a shank for comfort. As a whole I would recommend something like the Griffin Lace Up from Frye Boot Co. if you were looking for that same look and feel. Extra investment is definitely worth it on a boot you’re going to be wearing a lot.

I also want to recommend Luxxe Mx for some affordable boot alternatives. They carry harness boots and a range of other styles. Also do custom orders in crocodile and python. They’re located in Leon, Guanajuato, Mx which is the Mexican shoe capital and the city is overall known for their leather goods. I’d love to see them on the channel. Bought a black pair of harness boots for about $140 and can’t wait to wear and see how they hold up.

@@22purple9 For me, I'm 44 and have had no issues with them. A little snug, but not totally awful. Have worn them all day many times and pretty comfortable once you get used to the heel.

Best boot ever made in my opinion is the Visvim Grizzly. The quality is top notch and they turn heads all day, get you compliments and its a conversation starter at times. Also looks almost nothing like anything out.

I have the RM Williams in brown, and want the black too. Doc Martens are made in Asia now for the most part and the quality is out the window. I recommend you check out Solovair -- they're made in the same factory and on the same machines as old school vintage Docs. The leather is waaaay better, and they have a shank (unlike Docs) Finally, have you considered Red Wing Iron Rangers? They're pricey, but are also the boot dood must-have.

If you’re looking for a shoe like doc martens but have a little higher budget. I would definitely check out Solovair. They actually produce boots out of an old doc martens factory. They have a lot of higher quality leathers available but they do come in at a higher price.

Just subscribed for this one video. Not that my opinion matters, but I still wanted to share my thoughts. Honestly I like cuban heel boots in general, because they have a different vibe and flare, compared to regular chelsea boots. Second of all, I prefer a medium round toe or a pointy toe. I don't mind the extra height, but I'm not the biggest fan of the harness. I prefer the more sleek 70's vibe than the grungy aesthetic. Still, great boot collection.

I can vouch for the quality of FromTheFirst. I got a Luca in Camel Suede, and a Enzo in Black Leather. Amazing, beautiful boots. Probably the best pieces in my wardrobe along with my leather jackets
