It’s ironic. Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are a couple of liberal/elitist/communists that actually do think the same way as the snobby college guy that Damon‘s character was destroying.

Funny thing, that "degree" he got will not help him unless he is going into a specific field for that degree that is in demand which would likely either be some kind of finance under accounting, legal, or medical.
