“12 Gold Bars” was my first Quo album …. Check it out … we used to ‘headbang’ to this at discos when I was a teen in the 80’s {love and respect from England} ! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mJGPtc21Stc.htmlsi=13LXOZDzY6ix7C1t
The fact that this is blowing your mind makes me sooo god damm happy-a British rock institution and the starting point of so many of us here in the UK-keep going brother, your happiness is infectious 😊
This guy is so infectious I love him Mr rock n roll you have to please play 45 hundred times its great you will love it I'm so glad you found status quo they are brilliant, keep on rocking
I really don't know why they didn't make it in the USA. Their rock n roll sound is pure Americana and they should have been as huge here as they were in most of the rest of the world.
They toured there a few times but just didn't take off, no idea why as I agree that they seem really suited to the USA. They were massive in England (although never fashionable). I saw them three times, fantastic gigs.
Your reaction is the best reaction to one of the best Quo songs,it’s my favourite along with their classic song “Forty Five Hundred times” .keep them coming. 😀🎸
Francis ,just like Clapton makes playing great lead guitar look effortless . Imagine what it was like for me as a teenager head banging to this ? , MY WIFE STILL SAYS IT IS WHY I HAVE NO SHORT TERM MEMORY
Hello mr rock and roll 🎸. I’ve seen the Quo 36 times and meet them loads of times. I’ve collected memorabilia, since the late 70s. Enjoy, the Best Rock & Roll band in the world 🌎
This is one of Quo's standards at every gig since '73. They could play this song in their sleep, having performed it in the 10's of 1000's of times over the years. This isn't the best live performance of this song, is has to be said. The best is probably the version they recorded and released as a live EP single, back in '75. The video for it is a mock live performance, (as they all were up to when they started making, 'proper', videos), but it was time specific for when it was recorded live, so it works really well. Then, there's always the, 'End of the Road', performance in '84, which is up there. Originally from the 1973, 'Hello!', album as the opening track. You've got to love the unmistakable Quo sound on this song. The relentless chugging of the rhythm that was their signature trademark. 'Little Lady/Most of the Time', 'Bye Bye Johnny', 'Forty-five Hundred Times', 'Slow Train', are only a few others worthy of reacting to.
LOVE your reactions to my favourite band! ROLD is a classic that kicks off my favourite album (and regarded as one of their best if not THE best) "Hello!" - 51 years old and still fresh and kickin'!
So glad you are loving the Quo. I saw them many many times in the 70's and it has never been bettered. the gigs were always awesome sweatfests with an amazing fan base. Best rockers EVER!
I remember growing up in the 1970s there were 2 bands where the UK was concerned. Status Quo & ABBA. The Beatles & Deep Purple were gone, Led Zeppelin were more about the U.S. Between 1973 & 1981 Status Quo released 9 studio albums, all of which ENTERED the UK charts at No. 1. Now you know why 👍
I was at this gig, there full on rock rock and roll. Been my band for over 40 years ,I hope there'll be another 40years,I thank the the mighty quo for a tour and album every year. You guys will always be the best.
One of my favorite Status Quo tracks, and I played it on stage a lot. Still have the live EP form 1975. I don't much like the post-'85 Status Quo (Lancaster and Coghlan were irreplaceable) but this version is decent.
Can you imagine the energy of this song in the 70s and early 80s when the band were in their 20s and 30s and the crowd were equally as young? And they could play a LOT louder! It was brilliant and unforgettable.
Was at the apologise glasgow that night , definitely best one been too, and have been to so many, got to shake Francis,s hand on his talk to much tour at kilmarnock, best night ever for me , been a fan since 1970 ,no band can touch them
Absolutely love your enthusiasm for the Quo. Going to see them again in May and I can’t wait. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve seen them. Always a good time!
Apart from the drummer, these guys are in their SIXTIES here. Rossi is now in his seventies and I'm going to see them in a few months. Only hope I will have half that amount of energy when I eventually catch up to Rossi!!!
Thanks so much for covering Status Quo! I’ve been a fan since the 1970’s and no one in the U.S. knew about them. I got to see them in 1976 opening for Peter Frampton and they were incredible. Check out “Slow Train” from the Quo album - you will love it!
Status quo roll over lay down is soo great mr rock and roll oh my good ness this is rock and roll thank you soo much what a classicer classiker rhank thank you once again mr rock and roll how can i than thank you mr rock and roll have a creat great time mr rock and roll thank you soo nych much ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Im sure you will love there albumperiod 1970 till 1976, their best hardrock period starting with the album in lineup,Ma Kellys Greasy Spoon, Dog of two head, Piled River, On the level, Hello, Quo and Blue for you. 7 fantastic albums packed with a lot of this kind of hardrock. A great candybox!!!
technically it's not hardrock but heavy boogie rock or blues rock. But no matter what tag you put on it it's great! Later periods and line-ups are great too!
You need to check out their albums!- from Dog of two Head- through the seventies- Piledriver Hello, Quo, Blue for you, Rockin' What ever you want- your brain will melt!
Another great reaction Mr Rock n Roll. You’ve been struck by The Quo 👍. They have a massive back catalogue & various live performances from over the years. Check out Quo Milton Keynes bowl 1984. Roadhouse blues, Don’t waste my time, Backwater, Just take me & the incredible Forty five hundred times.
Saw these twice live. Sheffield city hall.and Birmingham exhibition centre. Most fun band to attend a.live concert, walked out drenched with sweat both times
Loved those days!! If you lived them, you were very lucky! I think you're due for more The Angels! I Aint the One or Comin' Down! Love your work mate!!
The frantic 4 is the best Quo, try some spinning wheel blues, backwater, definitely roadhouse blues, rain, mystery song, just take me, it could be a deep dive, everything up to Blue for you is top notch, everything after not so good.
You have to give dirty water a listen you'll love it or the old country tune wild side of life .Try roadhouse blues by the doors it's epic . Give forty five hundred times a listen depending on the version you find it could last up to 15 mins or more. In 1982 at the NEC in Birmingham it clocked in at 20 mins !
Also, fun fact: The lyrics are not about sex as everyone thinks the first time round. Francis (lead guitarist) explained it was about his ex-wife who'd lay across the bed when he came home tired from gigs and he just wanted to get in to sleep :D
You should've heard them play this in the 70s. Audience participation was massive and they really rocked. The nearest we have of this is the live recording from Quo Live recorded at Glasgow Apollo in the 70s. It's not a great recording but the atmosphere was massive.
Already looking forward to your reaction to Whatever You Want, the one after the next one when they do their famous guitar interaction during the end of the song
Saw these guys play this live as a 12yr old and you right their whole cadence and feel good never gets old. Am now 57 and it's just the same today as it was back then. Loving your reactions brother. 👍👌😎 MYSTERY SONG is one of many favourites and think you will love it. Just saying 👍
Also this is the original version from 1974, around 50 years ago.. so just a little bit younger and more hair.. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wr3JO0MhFTY.htmlsi=Q0gKpTj7HbIGsrf-
