I agree with you... That's why I hit tkmaxx first... I won't buy rubbish... I have items that are almost ancient. We were taught to take care of our things.... Great video, Amanda., thank you

Happy Sunday! I’m trying to buy the good quality items in general. I watched a documentary several years ago about our unwanted clothes where they ended. That make me think about my buying stuff. I think the quality over quantity is the way to go.😊

I have bought a LOT of the pieces in my wardrobe on vinted, my cashmere sweaters, some blazers, ralph lauren button ups and down, pants, jeans etc. and i love them. Im eager to think about going second hand shopping in the stores, rather than fast fashion, im working on it-i broke ties with hm, but i want to do it with every fast fashion store. But like i said, im working on it.😊

That’s amazing, it sounds like you’re a pro secondhand shopper! Honestly, I rarely go secondhand shopping in stores because online makes it so easy to filter the search and stuff - but on the other hand when i find a secondhand shop that has clothes that fit and that are of the brands I like then it’s so much fun haha! 😇

@@SiedlerAesthetic not a pro, i had to learn with time, i had a lot of duds😅 but i have learned to search etc😄. And yes, im also a online shopper, but i would love to find some good smaller stores ( i dont like the big stores too much, it overwhelms me).

Awe thank you for the lovely talk! Haha good question - it really depends on the situation haha - when I go for my weekly shop then I bring just your average canvas tote bag. However most of the times when im running other errands and remember that I have to go get something from the shops then I just shove my groceries in whatever bag I’m wearing (yes my Celine Triomphe tote has carried many a groceries lol). I did just buy a longchamp tote to bring in my work bag for those impromptu grocery runs tho haha 😅

I wasn’t ever fully into fast fashion, but now I’m completely over it. It gets worse quality year after year and the price goes up and up. I find mint condition preloved high quality pieces for the same or less, though it’s getting more difficult. I’ve been disappointed lately even at luxury stores like Neimans and SAKS seeing a lot of these high end brands starting to use Polyester and poly blends. My SA explained that there are different levels of quality in Polyester. I sweat in Polyester, gross. $525 for a Polyester jacket, no thanks.

Yes yes yes i totally agree with you!! I’ve had the same scenario of being told that all polyesters are not made equal - which is probably true but if I am still feeling like I am wearing a plastic bag I kind of do not care if it is “better” than the lower quality version of polyester hahah… 😂 And indeed the price tags of these high end polyester pieces are simply horrifying…! So at the end of the day, I’d rather stick to my cottons, wools, cashmeres and linens in all scenarios 😇

I invest in the cooler seasons. We have hot summers and I would rather use the washer for those highly worn, fast paced clothes. High quality dress clothes where you have more control over the maintenance ( cooler weather) is a good strategy in my opinion. I won't consider fast fashion for when I need to look my best. The quality of fast fashion proves unreliable. Besides, after you buy a beautiful quality piece, you can tell that it was not only ethically sourced but also made with love.

Hi Blair! That’s a good point, I do also prefer clothes that I can wash in the washing machine during summer - and I tend to rely heavily on linen garments for the warm weather seasons. And I agree that it makes sense to invest more for the seasons and occasions where you have more control over the conditions/maintenance, and budgeting for those special pieces that you plan on keeping for years to come 😇
