I saw two shiny Chansey this safari week, my second and third one overall. I tried using the bait strat. on the first one but it fled first turn. When I saw the second Chansey, I was frustrated with the prior one and just threw a ball first turn, and caught it! I’ve no doubt you’ll catch the next Chansey followed by the next Safari rare you find. Good luck on all the hunts! 💫
Sorry for your tough luck this Safari Week Mike! However, at least you got to see another Chansey shine as you mentioned. One of these days the bait strat WILL work and all these fails will make the re-claim that much better!
found your account and love your videos, my favourite gen is gen 3 as well and i love shiny hunting in it because the sprites look so good. keep it up!
my safari week was surreal, a shiny starly in brilliant diamond, then an oddish fail (it was my fault too, i ran away) and a reclaim of the oddish at the last second on the last day of the week… wild
That's certainly terrible, though your numbers are a bit better then mine in the Great Marsh, in terms of overall captures. I've only captured 7 out of my 41 phases here, having failed the last 20. Good luck on your next hunts!!
This year I finally got an encounter in the Great Marsh, a Skorupi, that ran after one ball. Even though its a little disappointing, I can finally say I failed a shiny during Safari Week. Here's to better luck next year!
Hey Gen3Hunter! I love your videos. I am currently gen 3 hunting as well. I have two Gameboy sps. One ruining fiery path on sapphire. I am hoping for a shiny torkoal but I will take anything. The second running victory road on fire red. There I am hoping for shiny Onix or marowak but again will take anything. Do you have any advice for me?
Hello, Gen3hunter. I would like to know how you achieve so much patience, especially hunts that require thousands of encounters in one day. I’m Shiny hunting a full odds Tangela hunt, which is becoming tedious. Do you have any advice?
@@Gen3Hunter Another question: how do shiny hunters get so many GBA SPs and legit cartridges? I assume they were saved up from when they were sold regularly?
Out of curiosity, do you use both 3ds and original ds capture mods for this? Every time I try to use my 2 OG ds and 1 3ds it doesn’t work. The 3ds always either goes black or flashes on the windowed display
Yup that’s what I used in this case! The flashing is typically caused by your USB ports being overloaded (the DS Cap card mod is very power intensive/draws a lot of power). Try moving around where on your computer where they are plugged in!
@@Gen3Hunter ah okay! I have them plugged into a usb hub, I’ll try plugging them directly into my tower tonight when I’m working on my Platinum starter hunt. Thank you for the tip!
@@Gen3Hunter I just tested it out, switched my OG ds only to the USB hub with my keyboard and mouse. And my 3DS is working perfectly directly off the pc with my OG DS systems running too. Can finally 3x hunt ds with capture
@@jake9107 i own 6 copies of the games, but im not about to hunt on 6 gameboys all the time when i can trasnfer my saves to my PC and have them all on one screen, play how ya want,
That logic of regressing to the mean meaning you're "due" for a short phase isn't actually mathematically accurate. The odds for each phase taking a certain length are independent of any other phase. Over a long enough (infinite) time scale things will regress to the mean, yes, but that's because you're dealing with an infinite number of tries at the odds for the phase length, making the effect any individual phase have no effect what so ever on the whole. A long phase absolutely does not mean that a short phase is due. I know you probably understand this already and are just making a joke, but I do see people falling into this logical fallacy surprisingly often unfortunately.
