This pack didnt have my vote (because its boring lol) but I do enjoy what it has. My only complaint is that I wish going to the dryer, washing, and putting away clothes was automatic.
yup, my biggeat complaint. sims usually won't go do all the laundry. they'll put it in the washer and then leave it there once it's done, instead of putting it in the dryer
But that would remove a whole bunch of gameplay, which would make this kinda boring and empty. I think most of us who actually wanted it (dont ask why, I dont know 😂 sims 4 is so empty it makes you want wierd stuff like laundry) wanted to be able to do all stuff that's included in laundry haha 😁
@@NathalieCwiekSwiercz i guess i'm just not that type of player that tries to control what their sims do. i prefer to just let them have full autonomy and do stuff while i watch and only intervene when i feel like it. a lot of the time i'll have the sims open, and i'm just watching tik tok and only interact with the game when those annoying pop ups from when sims are at work or school appear
@@NathalieCwiekSwiercz I think then it would be great if there was a toggle for auto and manual. I don't like to control my Sims 100%...for me the issues lie in the game mechanics itself. When I queue my sims to do something theyll ignore it or get stuck. So for me it feels tedious sometimes. Just like IRL my sims hate doing their laundry lol.
This is one of my favorite packs, but I get why people aren’t into it. I’m a family player and have always gravitated to having a well-run home. I try other types of gameplay but always fall back into it!
One thing I appreciate about this pack is the attention to detail with the actual progression of the wash cycle. If you watch the washing machine closely, you can see that they actually made separate wash, rinse, and spin sounds and animations, which is a step above The Sims 3's washing machines, which do nothing more than rattle around and make sloshing noises. It's also a step above the dishwashers in general, which only make noise.
I like the pack because lets say you have a family and one parent won't have a job and is just supposed to take care of childen and household, you them to have some more to do. (Because Sims 4 are actually really easy to keep clean) The only thing that bugs me is that Sims won't turn the maschines on by themselves, but they do it with any other device (they turn on and off the tv automatically, same with the dishwasher, they flush the toilet usually by themselves, everything - ecept washing mashine and dryer 🙄)
probably a tad lazy on their part to not pair those actions sadly, altho with the tv/pc sims just adore gadgets and gravitate to them the smallest chance they get
Honestly for many players this pack has a bug that clean clothes come out the washer as used, clean clothes come from the hamper, etc. They can never be put away and are stuck in and endless cycle that can only be fixed by selling your washing machine.
I really like this pack, especially as a Brazilian. Because we are used havinh very big laundry spaces, especially in older houses/appartment. When I lived in US, I got shocked to see how americans do not have a laundry room, instead placing the machines in the kitchen or a tiny space. It bothered me deeply, cause laundry room for me is where I place everything that has to do with cleaning, and... Well... Laundry. Makes things more organized IMO, so not having a laundry room in my sims games made me feel something essencial were lacking. More recently the new appartments in Brazil are having smaller laundry spaces to the point of being too small even to have the machines in, and this does not match out cleaning culture at all. So it really annoys me. Lol. Having that said, I really appreciated this pack, especially since were a theme simmers chose, including myself. Sure, the price doesn't worth it exactly cause EA overcharge things, but biulding and gameplay wise is veeeery nice, and I do use it in all my households in the game.
You gave a 9 on performance, but I think this pack is extremely buggy. The machines break so easily and it ruins the clothes in the dryer when that happens. I make sure one of my sims levels up to 8 in handiness so they can make the machines unbreakable right away. I do love this pack because of the realism.
This is 1 of my favorite packs it does complete my my build with the laundry.. but the only thing i wish there was more washers and dryers options since there is more options out there..
Agreed! Top loaders front loaders, I really wish they came with "display only" miles as well Soni can have the look of a laundry room in the build but can avoid the actual laundry aspect of it if I don't wanna mess with doing laundry in my gameplay
I love absolutely everything in this pack, but it shouldn’t have been a pack. It should’ve been part of an expansion. Also, it’s completely broken now.
Am I the only one who when doing laundry, I go to take the clean clothes from the washer and put it in the dryer and it bugs out and says the clothes are dry or dirty but when I take them out they're still wet and clean? This pack is super buggy with the machines so I don't use it much even though I like it ): I also actually like that it's a separate pack and not part of eco living because I would want the laundry part without the rest of the eco pack.
I very much enjoy this pack. I think my only complaint is having to load the washer/dryer and then having to run it as a separate command. So I can't tell my sim to start a load of laundry and then go start dinner. I have to wait for them to load it, and then tell them to start it. I'm pretty sure in TS3 when I told my sim to do the laundry, they did the laundry. Not just bring the clothes to the washer and then stand there.
I really wanted to buy this pack, but it's disappointing. It doesn't have much things related with laundry. Why the heck are they putting the usual bb (sofa etc) that's totally unrelated to laundry. I hate to say this but the devs or whoever made or agreed to the decision were being lazy. Because they can just edit existing bb items like sofa, table, etc., instead of creating new bb item. How many items there related to laundry? 1 clothesline, 1 washtub, 1 washing machine, 1 dryer. That's it?? That's not even 1/6 of the Laundry theme. Although i do like the concept of the bb and cas, but i want more types of clothesline and another type of washing machine that you open from top. Again, i hate to say this but they're being lazy. I'm sad because I really want to buy any sims 4 packs, but can't decide on any because they're lazily built.. Sorry for my rant.
With this pack, be careful how many baskets you put in as it multiplies the laundry. I was shocked how much I use the build buy in this, second most used is those wedges. For context I bought this with Cottege living on sale.
I own this pack and let me tell you i love it. I got on the 4th generation ofmy legacy. and my female sim wanted to be a stay at home mom and take care of the house and her 3 daughters and this added a lot o stuff for her to do. Also i got the pack on sale. as I do with all the packs I purchase
Im with you about laundry day, i have a whole family irl whose laundry i do 2x a week🙄 the last thing i want to do is load sims and do laundry there too lol. I made myself in the game and i live ALONE lol that's my getaway!
Bust the dust kit should have been with laundry day and called it chores life stuff pack and also it should have came with a lawn mower if it was like that
I hate the fact that Sims 4 breaks everything into bite sized pieces and sell it separately, makes it all feel like a cash grab. The fact that Sims 4 has probably over 50+ packs at this point costing thousands of dollars just confirms the real agenda behind this game.
I'm so glad that you pointed out the fact that laundry came with Ambitions in the Sims 3, so it's strange to me that it's a stand alone pack, just about laundry, in the Sims 4. One of my biggest issues with Sims 4 is that they break things up into smaller packs (game packs/stuff packs/kits, etc.) rather than creating a fully fleshed out expansion. I was never into laundry in my game play in Sims 3, so I never placed a washer and dryer in my homes, or would just delete them if they were there so I wouldn't have to deal with it, but the option is there for people who wanted it, and Sims 3 also came with laundromats for community lots. The fact that a pack about laundry doesn't include a laundromat.....🤦🏽♀Another missed opportunity by the Sims 4 imo. I will say I like the idea that you can search pockets for money in Sims 4. I don't know if that was a thing in Sims 3.
There are actually a lot of apartments or smaller homes here in the U.S. that have the laundry in the kitchen or a hall closet. But having a laundry room is considered a nice upgrade to the home. As you're not having to bring dirty cloths and chemicals that aren't really kitchen/food prep area safe into the kitchen. As for how they are set up, they usually include the washer/dryer, some extra storage cabinets, a table or counter for folding cloths on, and sometimes a utility sink for presoaking or hand washing garments.
I didnt vote for it, but I'm really not mad at this pack, especially the items in it. It's kinda country/rustic themed and it surprisingly comes in handy with a few of my playthroughs. I recommend getting it on sale, perfect since it's the Lunar New Year sale rn
I am in shock that you gave it such a high performance rating… the bugs with the machines are far from rare in my experience, I was very much expecting you to give a 0 or 1 for performance!
the bug where you end up having to get rid of the washer has happened to me. but only when i have the washer dryer set that's one on top of the other. if they're next to each other, it doesn't happen. but every time i have the set of the dryer on top of the washer, it's guaranteed it'll bug out and i'll need to go into build mode to delete it and get a new one
Your laundry pack doesn't have any bugs? Mine after I use a machine for a while gets a crazy bug: take clothes out of the hamper and in the washing machine, then it says the clothes are already clean, so I put it on the dryer and it says they're already dry, then the sim takes them out and put the pile of dirty soaking wet clothes on the floor. I hate The Sims 4 🙂
I like making my Sims do laundry and I like the cross pack gameplay with Growing Together. That said...my Sims don't automatically start the washer and dryer after I instruct them to load the washer/dryer? What? I don't wanna be THAT micri-managey. jesus...
Even with mods to fix the washer and dryer, mine bug out CONSTANTLY. I have to replace my washer with a new one constantly, and the drier was bursting into flames all the time, too!
They could have done more with this. In real life i actually enjoy folding laundry while watching a video or listening to a podcast, but there's no folding or ironing in this. They could have made ironed clothes affect job performance. They could have made hanging and folding laundry a social interaction (like "Join cooking"). They could have introduced laundromats as a community lot. They could have given us a blanket fort. They could have let pets sleep in the hampers. I could go on and on! Mostly, I just want to ability to turn off the dirty laundry accumulation but keep the aesthetics of having the machines around, like how you can disable dust in Bust the Dust.
I can tell you now that I erase all the washing things from my builds, because they always fail!!! Always!! I am sick and tired of them failing after a time. So I regret having bought the pack in the first place. For me the vote for performance should be a 0/10.
One of my favourite packs but definitely could do with more content. I always make laundry rooms (even though im from the Uk 😂) . Wish we had the laundromat lot, i build them in malls but its just for decoration
SatchOnSims re: (07:09) - Ironing board and laundromat make sense. Odd that neither were included. For realism: Rustic/country theme nice enough, but city dwellers are at the laundro. Or the dry cleaner. For completeness: 100% not here for virtual laundry in 'The Sims 4.' But if the - entire focus - of the pack is doing laundry, at least go all in.
2:25 I was about to go crazy about that ‘one square tree’, but then it had the audacity to be a 4 square tree. 🤯🤯🤯 Why couldn’t it have been one square and then there’s a wonderfully filling tree for those unusable corners!!!
I really like the cas and items in this pack, it is too bad there isn’t more clothes bc, ya know, laundry. I’ve only played with it twice, once with a butler and i barely even noticed I had it because he just did it without an issue. The second time I had an off the grid house and it was such a pain and the laundry wouldn’t dry because of the weather and I ended up getting rid of it after 3 days 😂 which is too bad because I love the aesthetic of having a wash tub in my medieval inspired cottage.
i rrally want this pack because im trying to build a replica house and the washing machine and clothesline are very integral parts of off the grid island cottaging. the game play seems funny but itd be tedious to have to play like that. the dishwasher washing machine stand in will have to persist for now
Pause... putting the washing machine in the kitchen... how is there no risk for the mess in the kitchen to end up in the laundry, especially the newly washed clothes
Something very annoying is that if you live in a city that rains a lot, you won't be able to put your clothes on the line outdoors because otherwise tge clothes will never dry lol
There is no “American laundry room”, but here’s some of the ways we use them: 1) side by side or stacked, either is fine. 2) the basement (if applicable) is the usual spot for these, perhaps next to a basement toilet (this is a Pittsburgh thing mostly) in an otherwise unfinished cement jump scare basement 3) I’ve seen post-70s houses make little closets for them, typically near the sleeping quarters or shared hallway, typically with a sliding Venetian blind style door 4) I’ve seen them in master bathrooms, tucked away 4a) or in walk-in closets
I had the same problem but with the dryer. It broke twice in a row and the second time I called the repair person, they didn’t show up! Then when I replaced the item a message showed up from the repair person saying “guess you won’t need my services today” lol
I honestly don't really like the pack. I put a washer and dryer in my sim's homes probably 3 times and then got tired of it. I do use the cas items. but the point of the pack is to wash clothes, which I find very boring and annoying over time. They should have just added it to an expansion pack, not on its own as a stuff pack 😒
I dont understand the simmers who want to add laundry and vacuuming to the game: I want to travel the world and become a super star. But to each their own: the sims 4 is big enough for everybody. I dont play with occults either.
I really don't care how good the pack is, needing a dlc specifically dedicated to laundry is so bizarre. That seems like a small thing you put into another pack to fill space 😭
you can build a laundromat and have your Sims use it. you would have a generic build that's the laundromat and only place a hamper in the sims home. This will cause laundry to pile up, then you can put dirty laundry in your inventory and travel to the laundromat to wash it..... so it's possible.
I never use it, its just there in my catalog honestly. I agree if it came with a laundromat lot type it would have been more useful. I swear this game need more lots type. PS I never voted for laundry!! boring add to this game tbh.
i think its missing a couple things ironing clothing shuts it should be a little more automatic as in putting clothes away when dry but im guess ironing would have ended up being annoying if you didnt iron the clothes if they did add it but more modern homes if they put laundry in a basement or lower floor will have a laundry shut in more pricey homes
I somehow like it that you need to click on the washmachine and dryer, your actually doing the laundry that way...i think , and i like you can add flowers.
I tried Laundry Day. It was horrible. Each and every times one of my Sim would change his attire, take a bath, take a shower, go to sleep or get up from sleep, they leave a pile of dirty clothes on the floor, EVEN when changing right next to a laundry basket. EVEN when they start wearing only a slip. NONE of those Sims had the slob trait. Even neat Sims would just throw dirty clothes everywhere. Game play 0/10.
I’m not gonna lie i’m a new simmer (well, relatively new) and i am slowly buying the stuff packs (I already have all the expansion packs) but before buying one i ALWAYS check if you’ve done a review of it already cuz sometimes they’re really just waste of money
I - personally - cannot fathom how anyone would want this lmao, and while the actual laundry system seems pretty decently in-depth I’m surprised there’s not more to it than literally just laundry. Compare the realism of this to how vacuuming was handled and you can definitely see the downgrade, tho. I agree with 6/10 from what I’ve seen. It’s not groundbreaking, buy it (on sale, preferably) if you wanna see your sims do laundry, otherwise it’s not worth it.
Reason why this pack was popular is because 90% of the players are women, I can't imagine male simmers wanting to do laundry in their Sims game lol I'm sorry..
This pack is broken for a lot of us. I can only do a couple of washes before it messes up the machines. I then have to delete them and buy them again. Which means upgrading them is futile. I wish EA would just fix their fucking shit before releasing new stuff
