The whole intro I was thinking, " Damn this guy really takes the time for his videos. He's stopped multiple times to place his camera down." Good on you man.
Don't even know what you are talking about CrAzEd_KiLlEr324!!! I happen to enjoy his videos very much. I'm not an outdoorsy kind of person so I really enjoy watching other people enjoy it and learning from them. Such a nice way for me to unwind and I listen/watch while I paint and do other craftwork. No need for anything complicated. Just a pleasant time outdoors cooking, eating and sleeping with Mother Nature. Nothing wrong with a couple of beers either.
Good to see a set of jump leads Andy, I lost count of the number of big, expensive cars I gave the spark of life to using my old Mini City in the UK winters 🤣😆❗️
Awesome, I grow up with the off-road culture, I decided to become a scout, and then i'mna preper, i found your vid very nice, and there is allways something we can learn with other people. You are in the right way.:)
I love this..the scenery is beautiful and its so nice to hear the peaceful music instead of the loud rap that everyone seems to listen to..I like the satin or is it matte paint job..once I modify my suburban, I hope it looks this gpod.
Even though I live in a large city, and plan to hunker down if at all possible, I have bugout bags for my wife and I and for the dog. He's our alarm system and furry furnace! I also have a small EDC mint tin that is handy at all times. Amazing what you can fit in one of those with careful organization. Since age 8, I have always had a knife in my possession whenever I am outside the house. Love the quality of your videos and the time taken to get good shots, also your entrance and exit from your camp. Stay safe, Andy. - - - - - An Armchair Adventurer
Gotta love them fire logs......I never use a whole one. I keep a brick in my vehicle and camping gear, but I just break off small pieces for firestarter as i need it. Very well set up.,
Hey mate! Awesome video. Love how you can see how much time you put into it:) now seriously: You deserve at least a million subscribers!!! Just found your channel and directly subscribed🙂👍 have a good one!
Another great video. Well thought out and edited very well. Glad i got directed to your channel. Subscribed after first one could tell that your a very knowledgeable man and you take your time describing things. Thank you.
What a great bug put vehicle. Toying with the the idea of one myself. I’m really liking your channel. Some things you’ve said about re charging etc are just I feel. Great vehicle. Regards shane.
hey I've got an l200 too and I'm pretty sure I've seen your truck driving around in Kent, always wondered if you were a prepper too! haha keep up the videos 👍👍
Hey, thanks for watching, Glad to have help inspire :) I'll be doing a follow up in the future with my new winch bumper and more. Good luck with yours!
Ditto what itsJustRL. You make y our videos so pleasant to watch and listen to. Nice music, pretty scenery your voice is pleasant (who doesn't love a British accent!) and you don't do a lot of unnecessary annoying talking like some do. Also, Ie heard you say you have a bit of film making in your background and that shows. I don't get motion sickness while watching your work! LOL! I've watched many of your videos now and can see you improving and getting more and more comfortable. Good on you Andy! I've subscribed and will keep watching. Keep up the good work!
Thanks again Maggie.. you have been busy haha... yeah, im not one to rabbit on in videos.. not even a fan of talking to the camera but I kind of have to lol
Hi there good video, I had an L200 with the BFGOODRICH tyres on it maybe worth leaving a couple of large blocks of wood in your truck if you haven't upgrade the vehicle jack otherwise you will find the vehicle won't lift high enough to change the wheel in the event of a puncture. 👍🏻
hey, thanks... finally got around to getting my hi-lift jack the other week as i'm replacing my shackles. Just gotta work out where i want to mount it at the moment.. bloody heavy thing haha. thanks for watching
Kent Survival look forward to the vids pal wouldnt mind seeing a vid on the inside maybe some backseat mods etc...as a prepper I saw ur Bob bag. one fing I fink u should carry not for ur self if u alredy have knowledge but a survival book/books ray mears ones are brill for newbies I carry one for my partner just in case I'm tasking she can get to grips learning so ur not wasting ur time. plus if its a shtf Bob bag then I wud carry a self-defense weapon as well as hunting weapons/traps. like your vids so far pal good to see some more UK vids...look at self-defense teachings I.e. boxing. I was a semi-pro boxer for 10years give or take and still small train 3days a week. its a hidden weapon buddy teaches a lot of mental abilities as well just food for thought bro. keep up the vids
Hi Richard, Thanks for advice, I have the SAS pocket book in the bag but will check out the Ray Mears too, I don't like to carry too much in terms of 'weapons' but will have a couple of vids on that subject soon as I am refurbishing my gun soon and some other bits (incl EDC). thanks again for the views.
Great vid man I'm a pommy living in oz I have a nissan gu this is the home of 4wd your car shouldn't be bouncing around like that on flat ground go to a 2 inch lift watch Ronny Dahl western Australian for some ideas on cars and camping get dual batterrys I went 4wd this weekend never needed my winch but great insurance to have one even look at Mr buckaroonie you tube still love your vids spend wisely I run bfg love em great tire had mine down to 18 psi no problem I could have gone lower but didn't need to great on the beach I don't run muddy tho just ko2 at safe travels mate
Nice rig, I like the fact it's a small truck with a diesel engine, awesome platform to build on. I would like to see the specs on your truck, engine- hp- torque and transmission etc. My only suggestion is to replace the rollbar with a stout locking campershell. A family friend has a older toyota with a camper and 3 modified locking truck bed tool boxes bolted in covered by folding couch futon in his camper. On the campers roof he also has a cargo box on the right side and two small solar panels on the left side. My friend's toyota has to many one off custom utilitarian modifications to list, but it's a cool set up too.
Hey, thanks for the comment and suggestions... the only thing holding me back at the moment is money but there will be an update video at some point. thanks again.
sadly here in the UK they are now taxing diesels quite heavily and are now proposing higher tax hikes and extending ''low emission zones'' even further (so again, you pay more taxes if you drive closer to the cities). thus I wont be able to get a decent 4x4 because I live too close to London and I've heard that soon my area might become a low emission zone. I have to go for petrol which eliminates much choice in make and model. Government pretending that diesel is the only problem in terms of pollution when it is actually ALL fossil fuel engines. ah well
thanks very much :) this was one of my first videos, I will be re-visiting the Bug Out Vehicle soon ish as I have more plans and upgrades. I love my L200, the newer ones are more comfortable but I like this ones character :)
very nice video Andy. I was wondering, since you have so much space, if you'd add some more tools, saws, axes, decent shovle and so on. SInce you can all put it safe insane you have options. Also was wodnering about some solarsystem if this is meant to serve also for INCH circumstances. Great care for the job. Well done!!
Why not get a canopy for the tray? I had my Isuzu fitted with a tradies type, because I didn't want the windows in the side. Fitted a solar panel on the roof and an aux battery inside to run a fridge. Makes it very usable.
Wow man your channel has now come far 100k! I'm sure you will probably never see this comment but, it would be nice to see if you have upgraded yet with the winch etc also do you do your mods yourself? if not help others with the info on where you get your work done, perosnally I'm finding it hard to get good info on 4x4 workshops or even second hand 4x4 dealers who specialise in it, everywhere I look in the UK it's just mainly marketing suburban SUV's which are junk. PS: I prefer your older content over the newer stuff, just some friendly feedback cheers dude
I would have liked to see the exhaust turned down and out behind the rear axle, but I don't know the laws where you are. Always good to keep water on hand lol ATB
Hey, at 1'49'', this woodland with the twisted tree (beech I believe?) looks a bit like one I've seen in The Netherlands which contained only twisted ones as the straight ones had been cut for lumber. Does this one have a similar history?
wow, seeing this comment, I was just in a Beech and Hornbeam / Oak dominated woodland today scoping out spots for wild camping etc. As far as I know here in the UK (well mostly around the Chiltern area where I explore a lot) the Beech used to be aparrently Europe's main supply of furniature wood, then Hornbeam I think is coppiced, the area I was in today had recently had an acre cut down so I swang by with my chainsaw and grabbed loads of good wood (Beech / Hornbeam, Willow and some Sycamore). Half of my ancestry is from Belgium and Nederlands cheers broer
When the SHTF the first thing that's going to happen is widespread EMP's to cut everybody's communication and interaction with any grid. Like cellphones computers electricity etc... This Truck will be useless. Because it's run by a computer. Get something that's not run by a computer. The older the better. Plus older stuff was built better. And most parts are cheaper to fix them up.
I think ur B.O.V. is nice....tyre chains for winter (just in case).. Andy..I've not seen any one making a video where anyone uses a cooking wood stove/ethanol stove in the back of their truck..since the back of the truck is all solid heavy metal..of course it's not practical..but let's say.. How do the British say if ur "On the Go" and want hot water for morning face wash hygiene or hot food or drink any sinario where the outside floor is damp cold or wet n nearly impossible to start a fire...ofcourse in a survival situation..u can lite a wood fire on the road side pathway/pavement.
Hi, thanks. I think most use gas stoves to be honest, see armoured cockroach and bug out vehicles uk, as they do a lot of that sort of thing.. I really want to do more content with my truck but money is a bit short at the moment, hopefully soon some offloading and truck camping :) Thanks for watching
To Kent Survival: Yes..not petrol..in any survival situation petrol will be a luxury and availability will be expensive..unless u have fuel (petrol/lead/non lead/high onctane) tanks burried in the backyard. Also I saw the BOV exhaust system..in any survival system u should have 2 mufflers/silencers add-ons..u can attach to ur vehicle.. to get away from a volatile situation where the extra sound causes attention from aggressive 3rd parties.
Id have thought Truck would be better Matt Green with Autumnal Green, Golds And Brown Leaf patterns all over it Gd Vid , must take a Eternity Setting Camera up for a Walk or Drive by , having to Stop and Retrieve it, Adds to Video for Quality though..Thumbs up
I don't know why but I never pictured anyone outside of America owning/building bug-out vehicles. Not hating at all, I am pro-prepper. I was just in shock when I heard the accent and saw the Euro style license plate.
Awesome, really like the truck and gear sir, cool video. Currently I have a lifted jeep wrangler for my bug out vehicle and planning to go to a Toyota Tundra next. Great video, anyone interested check out my new survival/bushcraft channel. Thanks, cheers all.
I wouldn't call a max distance of 60 miles to London a low density area. 20 hrs walking time. Also having a power plant in the vicinity and a big ferry port and tunnel make it reasonable to me to get a head start off to France. And from there you can drive literally to the great wall of China...
Hi, thanks for watching. I haven't really looked into veg oil option yet and the injectors but yes its not the most luxurious but it takes what i throw at it :)
Nice looking rig you've got there! Too bad they screwed up and put all the controls on the wrong side! Oh well, guess you Brits gotta be different ! All kidding aside, i gotta say that is some really nice camera work, must have taken all day to get all those angles. Great editing as well! Anyways... have a cuppa on me mate cheers!
hahaha, you win comment of the day! Thanks buddy! Love the truck.. just a bit more work to do when I have the money (though im sure it'll never be 'finished') oh.. and I just finished a Tea thanks ;) haha ATB - Andy
If you want to prep to be fine in the short term keeping stored goods and organising your family is fine. If you want to be prepared for a Venezuela style collapse you need to form a community with like minded people now and get a farm running with defenses which is kept going at a low output by a skeletton crew that takes turns and will scale up when the community moves there when the need arises. Being fine forever with a mad max vehicle and some supplies is a fantasy.
Hi, thanks for watching. I do not prep for total collapse as so unlikely and vague. Just for a flood or something more localised really and especially for when i am away from home, having a versatile vehicle just gives you more options... plus its fun to offload :)
One fatal flaw with that truck. Electronic fi with an ECU. On emp and your dead in the water. Need to consider milsurolp trucks with mechainical idi turbo-diesel.
Hi, I did consider it along with some other ideas but finally decided to go matte black... stealth as the traffic cop called it when he pulled me for front tints haha, thanks for watching
thanks, its a good point, my tinted windows help and i tree to keep stuff in the footwells. currently thinking of a more long term setup though. thanks for watching
Its just suppose to get you out of the hot zone. Mpg really isnt going to matter in a realistic situation when you take into affect the practicality of it. I just would install a larger fuel tank and or a aux fuel tank
It's a diesel. They burn fuel significantly slower than a typical gas engine. You can also get away with running some older diesel engines on kerosene. A diesel is pretty much the best route to go in a bug out situation, and the fact that semi trucks carry 100 gallons of it makes it easier to get fuel along the way. Pull next to a semi, get a pump, and make their fuel yours
Deisep is a better option the typical big rig can hold up to 100 gallons on it multiply that by the amount of rigs on the road and then things like farm equipment and it adds up and they typically get better fuel milage
