Exactly! And the Vet is so expensive. I explained the issue to them and they just told me to come in and didn’t give me any suggestions or home remedies. Just told me to come in so they can take my money

Hi there, I am SO glad this worked for your kitten! It has helped so many congested foster kittens I have lost count. Nothing like gentle, thick steam to really loosen those tiny nasal passages. And sitting in the bathroom with the shower running isn't the same, the steam needs to be dense. @@KittenSchool she is doing great! Eyes were glued shut and full of pus on Saturday when I got her. Super congested. I thought I was going to lose her that night. I found your video Sunday morning and did it straight away. Just like said to. In a carrier with a towel. She fell asleep. 20 minutes later she was clear as day. Ready to eat. Purring. Meowing. I was stunned. Today is even better. 24 hour turn around from death to life. Thank you so SO much! 😻

Hi Babita...find some lime sulpher dip and rinse the cat once a day. You should be able to buy this at a drugstore/chemist/pharmacy...or at a farm supply store. You mix it in warm water (it smells like rotten eggs) and pour over the cat. I use just plain water...but a little mint might not hurt but only use a small amount. Same with salt. And yes you are right about eucalyptus it is poisonous to cats and dogs. Thanks for the question and for watching!

No no no! Eucalyptus is very toxic to cats! It is better to just use fresh water. I know this is an old comment, but hopefully it can be seen by others who may have the same thought. Eucalyptus works wonders for human respiratory illnesses, but it is toxic to a lot of other animals. I hope your kittens are well now! It is scary when things like this happen.

Awww, I am so sorry about your sweet kitty! Sounds like he has a bad URI (upper respiratory infection). Try steaming him in the bathroom or anyway you can. Try syringe feeding him with chicken broth and watered down meat baby food. If he's really fighting you don't force him. Hopefully the congestion will ease up and he will get his appetite back. Kitten School Yes I already watch your other videos on how to feed him the right way, but he fight so hard, his wrapping towel always come of and scratched my hands bleed in several place. The fight has gone weaker these last couple of hours, but listen to him choked everytime I give him a mere 3 ml water or food (I only able to make him a blended and sifted wet Whiskas...yes, I can't even afford to buy chicken...or water heater) made me cry. My parents are old (74 and 63) and they don't understand my love for cats at all, they told me just to let go and let him die. They kept kicking him out of the house when I'm not around because he stinks and "dirty" and always coughing/sneezing and "spread disease"...I have to walk around the yard to find his hiding places everytime I came back from work. So I let him slept in my bed these last 4 days (he usually slept in the living room) even though I would wake up every 15 minutes for his wet coughs (he keeps panicking because he can't breathe). I am so stressed out from worry of seeing him fighting to breathe when there's nothing I can do to ease his pain beside holding him and cry, or that I wake up and found him dead. It is 4:15 AM now in my country, he was just finally fall asleep in a weird position with his mouth open. I had give him 2 steam baths yesterday, around 10-11 AM and at 4 PM. I don't know how many times I had to do it in a day. I also made a saline solution and dropped them with cotton bud to his nose. He hated them, and I observe it doesn't really make a difference in his appetite, but I'll keep doing it. All my close friends are in a bad monetary condition right now, so I can't beg them for help, so I'm going to put aside my dignity and beg for some money to my ex husband to bring him to the vet in the morning, I hope he remember how much I love the cat and will have some heart and money to share. My dear cat's body felt a little bit cold tonight and started to show the symptoms of dehydration. 😭 I can't imagine to lose him, because he is my sole reason to live right now. Sorry for the long rant, I am anxious and depressed and don't have anybody to talk to me about my cat in this house. 😢 Writing calms me down a little bit...

@@Soul_N_Control Hi Christina, I'll gratefully say he's still with me. He recovered about a week after I finally able to take him to the clinic, the kind vet gave him IV and some vitamins and antibiotics. He got another flu a few months ago, but not as bad as the first time. I think the shauna/steam bath helps when your cat has light flu. I still have my baby boy here being his silly and happy self, and most importantly healthy. Thank you so much for asking, it's very sweet of you, hope all your babies are healthy and happy too... ❤❤❤❤❤😆🐈🐱

@@LadyVoldemort If that happens again. Get some little noses and clean the stuff out of his nose. Q-tip and drop it down each nostril. Amoxicillin and lysine. Put him a steamy shower rm with you.

Thank you Alice! I think it can be a lifesaver too. I do think antibiotics are necessary at times, but I agree we tend to over-medicate our pets (and ourselves) more than needed. Whenever there's a gentle, natural way to healing I will take it. Appreciate your comment. **Caroline

*Disclaimer, I am not a vet*...but yes, I think it would help ease the cat's breathing. Just be sure not to let the kitty get too hot -- there's a fine line between making the room steamy enough to be effective but not so hot it raises their blood pressure too high. Another option would be to get a humidifier like people use in babies rooms. That blows a cool, fine mist to keep the air moist without the heat. Good luck!

Yes, that is a quick and easy way to do it. I like this method though because the steam is very concentrated, and I was finding it hard to get enough steam in my own bathroom. It depends on the size of your bathroom and temperature of air. Thanks for the comment!
