Colonel Art Jeffrey was a USAAF fighter ace in WWII, shooting down 14 German aircraft over western Europe in P-38 Lightnings and P-51 Mustangs.
Colonel Jeffrey is credited with being the first pilot to shoot down an Me-163 Komet rocket-propelled fighter and twice shot down three aircraft on one mission (Bf 109s and FW 190s).
I call my conversation with Colonel Jeffrey a "chat" rather than an interview. It is very informal and was made so I could write out the transcript and refer back to it later. It was not intended to be broadcast. You will hear our dogs and my kids in the background (my young son attended most of my photo shoots and interviews - he found them interesting). I hope you will forgive me for this and enjoy the chat for what the Colonel says, rather than judge the video on the poor quality of the recording and the interview technique.
I Skyped Colonel Jeffrey because I was unable to see him face-to-face. I photographed most of the pilots in my project myself; however, Michael Schoenholtz in Portland, Oregon, photographed all my American pilots.
Kindest regards
