Thanks a lot for all your time and effort making these videos, it helps a lot when some of these are now beyond the affordable performance “classic” range in the last few years. I have recently fulfilled a childhood dream by getting an almost perfect example.. yes I paid much but fair market value. Decided to “buy the dealer” instead of just the car.. mainly felt that I was tired of dealing with unexpected things at the cost of saving money but spending time and effort. Not to say it won’t still happen though. I still refer to your videos for reference so I know what to keep an eye out for along the way. Just wanna give a shout out! Thanks again and keep sharing the journey!

Really really appreciate the video. No surprise that body work alone represents a considerable percentage of the total (it's also the part that most people without the necessary space, special tools can't do at home at all, of course). Very luckily in California, USA we don't really have to worry about rust. My budget this year is purely sorting the front end (pretty weepy block, a sign of transmission leak, some small drips from bottom rad hose) and interior. Seems like you had a pretty healthy motor for a cheap Cosworth! Great video. And you got it on the track already!! haha, listen to that sound. Amazing. For anyone who is watching considering buying a fixer-upper 16valve and "fully restoring" it, expect to spend considerably more than this. Especially if you don't have the time, space, knowledge to do the at-home repairs 2Broken2Rusty has already done :).

Yeah, really envy you guys in Cala forn hiai where the sun beats down. Just had all my jacking points welded on my non Cosworth 2.6 and it was painful £££. I agree, I think he's done really well in cost terms but then he has done much of the hard work himself and prices for these cars are on the 'up'.

It’s good to see videos on there becoming more common. I have a 2.3-16 in Scotland, drives well enough however i think the EHA is needing adjusted to remove a flat spot in the rev range.

Thanks for watching, check out the rolling road video. He adjusted the EHA valve for me and got rid of the flat spots on mine.

Hiya mate, awesome video! My 2.5-16 has the SLS plugged would you happen to know how much it would cost to fix in terms of parts? There aren’t any metal hoses or anything that are meant to be there so I’m guessing he replaced the rear suspension as well. Thanks!

Loved the Cadwell Park footage and that view of the 3 pointed star steering you down the track. Did you go airborne and lift off like the bikes do? Any chance you could upload more footage of the track day? The car sounded awesome even though I'm not usually a fan of 4 cylinder motors, but this one sounds sweet when on song at the upper rev range. This one looks like it's on 15 inch alloys? but I think I've seen some with16 inch SL alloys? Really admire all you've accomplished with this car having done most of the work yourself and respect to you for supporting the 'Dementia' charity. Who's the good looking guy at 12.23? No unkempt hair, no scrawny stubble, no grease? ...My he did brushed up well! 😎

Hahaha! Thank you for watching. I'll see how much more footage I've got from the track day. Yes I used to have the 16" SL alloys, then some 16" Zender Turbos, these ones are just the standard 15" wheels.

i like the 190 but i love 6 or 8 cylinder motors, i think i would like a 190 with a 300.24 motor, are the poly bushes uncomfortable??? personally i think the car would look better an inch higher but its your car

If the engine was no good on this, the plan would have been to stick in an M104 engine in. Although having a 6 cyl I'm sure would have added a bit more weight to the front axle which I'm not a fan of. The polybushes haven't made it uncomfortable in my eyes but I've often had lowered cars, it feels really smooth but I think that's because of the suspension setup and big tyres at the moment.
