No he made his life tolerable and waited out his youngest child to go to college. In his mind had he left the year of disruption and 3 years of a child bouncing between homes with the loss of finances would have affected one of his children he raised hurting them not the wife. I have worked with many of both sexes that have waited for children to start school or leave it before they are in a position to return to work or leave and have a buffer for the financial hit. The relationship was dead the conditions for separation were not acceptable.
