I’m just hoping Stella didn’t take the kids. Yall were prom king and queen correct? Man I envied you two. But Karen wouldn’t let me speak about you :( x
Man I miss these guys. I remember seeing them open up for REO Speedwagon in 82. Still can’t believe Gerard died in that plane crash. What a legend. Rip Gerard Way 1961-1994
Man, I still can't believe these guys broke up 30 years ago. I remember seeing them live back in '84. My boyfriend had surprised me with tickets, we had our first kiss at that concert. A month later, and this was our prom song, it was magical, and when the night was over I sat with him in his car, resting my head on his shoulder. I miss you Matt. If you see this, come and visit. I'm right where you left me, don't be a stranger.
Your Average Music Person is that you? God i miss you so much. Im sorry for what happened at saras party. I miss you. This song brings me to tears every time i hear it. I wanna get back together, if youll even take me back
Our high school reunion's coming up. Bellville Class of '84. Fighting Moths. I heard the band got back together. December 20, 2019. LA. Turns out Gerard survived that plane crash after all...he just went into hiding. I remember I was in Mr. Piedmont's class. We had just put the mix in the oven. Vice Principal Walton made the announcement. "Pop group My Chemical Romance was aboard a plane that crashed and exploded 25 miles south of Dallas. No survivors are expected."
@@W33zerman69 You're Average Music Person would be a fool to not forgive you for what happened at sara's party. Sure, you may have gotten a bit drunk and accidentally spilled your punch on her taffeta party dress, but alcohol can wash away, love is forever.
All jokes aside this is actually a pretty impressive remix. How did you manage to take a 2000’s alternative rock song and turn it into a dreamy 80’s pop ballad?
@@kevynhansyn2902 Yea out of all the 80s styled covers on youtube, Arianna seems to be the most abundant and imo the catchiest. Not a big fan of the originals but the 80s covers of her songs hit the right buttons
Ahhhh, the memories of senior prom, 1984. I was just a nerdy, braced face 17 year old girl. No sense in style, looking ridiculous in my hot pink dress with hair so teased, I swear it touched the ceiling. Obviously, no one wanted to even be caught dead dancing with me, but then came Fred. He was a bit like me, wearing a suit too big for him and equally big glasses. He asked me if I'd like to dance, which immediately stopped whatever little popularity he had. But he didn't care, we were graduating in a month anyway. It was so magical, him and I slow dancing to this song. And even more magical when Fred confessed that he had a crush on my since Sophomore year, when we were in the Math Club together. And then we kissed, right in front of everyone on the dance floor!! Ahhhh....how the days have passed. We were married in 1986, when we were both just 19 year olds in college. Now, we've been married for 34 years, with 3 beautiful kids and 5 gorgeous grandkids.
Exactly! Why the hell does this trigger slow motion replays of memories of past girlfriends looking up and smiling... like what happened to me? I used to rock, god dammit, and now? Now... I like this. It feels right, but it can't be...
Weird MCR is kinda everywhere lately and they broke up like 6 years ago. Probably getting back together. Seems like a sign. Edit: It might be happening! We have a show coming up!
Myra Ames here listen to me singing MCR and cheer up. instagram.com/p/BXgyd-klEdU/?igshid=uenz5ps4bjfd please feel free to sub my channel if you like :)
This made me feel emotions I didn’t know existed and can only be described as a combination of extreme cringe, tear-inducing laughter, and genuine enjoyment.
This sounds like a song that's played in a mediocre teen film where the main characters dance slowly to on prom. of course, after the makeover of the nerd
Its 1987, Brooke is slow dancing with Chad at the school prom, but during the sax solo she realises she actually in love with Billy, her best friend (who we've seen loves her too through the whole film) she searches the school for him and she finds Billy at the entrance to the school, where the first scene was were Brooke was telling Billy she has no one to go to the dance with, and Billy looks at her with his willing eyes for her to love him like he loves her, knowing she will never. So she finds Billy, *the sax solo still going* and then confesses her love for him and they run too eachother and kiss just as the sax solo and bridge end, the last minute of the song is them walking down an empty road with no where to go, they don't need the dance, all they need is eachother. They carry on waking into the distance and Directed by John Hughes appears at the bottom of the screen scrolling up to the top.
My first thought when the music hit was that just because it's the 80s doesn't mean it has to sound like this, it can still sound like rock, but then the singing started and I just covered my face and went "fuck, it fits"
I remember how my mother hated me for listening to them, she said the lyrics were satanic and it will lead me to growing up to a good for nothing delinquent. Well she's wrong! This tune made it as one of the classics of my generation. So glad to be able to hear this song in great quality. Thank you!!!
@@GenderlessFurry_They-Them same bro. But I think I'm a way lower class emo. I buy flip flops from dollar General and majority of my clothes are from good will
the year is 1986. my date at my senior prom just stood me up to dance with someone else. heartbroken, i sit on the sidelines crying my eyes out until i hear this classic slow jam blaring through the panasonic turbo thrusters and i realize that i was too good for her, anyway, and that i can still make this a night to remember for the right reasons. i stand up and make my way to the dance floor, swaying confidently but delicately by myself while gerard way’s powerful voice makes me feel whole again.
@@daboz8753 Meh, I wasn't really concerned about your misspelling. I just wanted to make a chain of someone misspelling something, then someone correcting it.
Yeah bands like Rites of Spring and Moss Icon are more hardcore emo and MCR and other bands like them are pop punk. You should listen to 80s emo, it's pretty good.
In an alternate timeline, this played at someone’s prom in the 1980’s and the shy kid finally asked the blonde girl to dance with him. It was super awkward but what a good song.
I can picture it now. Barely running, a few shops survive on loyal clientele. It's a ghost town of fake, dusty palms and garish pastel paint. This plays slowly with a reverberating echo, reminding you of its hey day
This totally changes the feel of this song! It makes it sound much more somber. The original feels like he’s really angry. But this version sounds like he just had his heart ripped out and shown to him! I love it!!
I remember my pops had this 1979 Volvo, we would cruise around in that thing for hours just blasting the radio. I remember when this single dropped, it was the spring of 84’. I danced with my girlfriend (who is now my wife) at prom to this tasty jam. ah to be young again. I love how a Michael Bolton music video is playing in the background lmao.
