But this is a woman lost custody of her child and had supervised visits. Even Christmas visits were at her parents’ house. (That’s supervision too). Twice a month supervised visits, there is something very wrong with her (according to court standards). I don’t think his sexuality is the issue but there is something going on in the background with her.

I think Karamo started getting upset because there was some miscommunication when he was trying to “educate” her. She didn’t even get to explain what was bothering her because he immediately assumed it had to be about her son being gay. And I think some parts of that are true. But I think it’s because luke’s lifestyle is unsafe. What was interesting to me is both her and the son think queerness is synonymous with being “out there”.. when that’s not the case. But at the end of the day, I see a mother who is scared of the damage her son may be doing to himself. And I see a son who desperately wants community and a healthy relationship with the people around him. I don’t think either of them really got to speak on their issues cause Karamo was stuck on some of the language being used.

Exactly! This is what i've been saying. No one is talking about it, though. The son tried to protect her by saying she lost custody because the father battled in court harder or something, but that's not the real reason. Supervised visits are only ordered by the courts when the parent has done something irresponsible and they do not trust that parent to be alone with the child.

I was so worried about confusing my nieces and nephews when I came out but that didn't happen. I am androgynous, so when I went home for the holidays, they asked this once "are you a girl or boy?"
