One of my fondest and earliest gaming memories, was when I turned 5 and got a GameCube on my birthday and I believe mario kart double dash. It may have been the same birthday or a different one, or another time close to my 5th birthday, but I got a copy of pokemon Silver that i still have and treasure to this day. Unfortunately the save file is deleted, but I remember having a high level Feraligatr in my team and he became my favourite and still is to this day. Yet another reason I love physical gaming, those memories are still with me. I still have that gamecube and all the games, as well as my pokemon silver cartridge.

So by the time i got to use it handed down to me by my brother o must have had about 120 games to explore. Never for get "8" 1 list. This reminds me of my first gaming experience, It was a N64 and it was the smoke grey. I remember begging my parents for the longest time I wanted one and one day when I came home from school ,( I was in 1st grade) there it was in my room. I was so excited because I couldn’t believe it. They also got me Mario kart 64, Smash Bros, San Francisco Rush and Castlevania which by the way that game terrified me when young mostly because of the music and the skeleton boss. The best part about this is that I’m now 25 and I still have that console along with all those games and still play them once in a while, could never part with them they mean so much too me.

The first game I ever got was Banjo-Kazooie on the Nintendo 64. I never even had a gaming system before, or even played a game, but when I saw the commercial for Banjo-Kazooie on television, I just wanted it. My parents got the game and the console it came on and I sucked at it, I never got past the second level of Gruntilda's castle, I was only like five-years-old. I almost fell out of gaming, then a relative got me Mario Kart 64 for Christmas, I believe. Now THAT was a game I enjoyed, I could actually play it and win every time, probably because I didn't know how to switch to the other CCs at the time. I've been a gamer and a Mario fan ever since.

I mowed a lot of lawns, bagged a lot of groceries at a local mom and pop market, and raked a ton of leaves to get the damn thing. it was probably the most satisfying purchase I ever made. I hope that we get a part two, to this, soon, I thoroughly enjoyed the stories. Funny how we can regale our past experiences like this to the entire world now, but, back then, if you did not have a friend or family member who also played games with you, people didn't really care or understand the impact that they had on you, and there was not a lot of ways to express your joy about it. Nowadays, I can go to work, and hear co-workers talking about things like Pokemon, Smash bros., et cetera, with smiles and camaraderie, you can go online and talk to people on forums about them, or watch videos like this, and it really makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. I was a semi-Carl, back in the day. Did not get games or consoles at launch, but, I got every one I asked for, most of the time, and had all 3 of the 16 bit consoles, which no one else in our neighborhood or at school had, as far as I knew. Yeah, I was one of those spoiled little butts, too. Never got the Turbo Express or the Super CD, though. I did know there were limits to what a parent would be willing to pay for, and those things were mega bux. Back then, getting a new console or the next hit video game was a gigantic deal to us. Time was at a snail's pace as a child, so, waiting for the next big thing was an ordeal our hyper active brains had a hard time dealing with. Waiting for Super Mario Bros. 3 to release some years after Super Mario Bros. 2, for example, was an eternity.

My first introduction to video games was watching my uncles play games; Maples tory, Kingdom Hearts, Sonic Adventure Battle 2, Dead or Alive. I remember the first game I ever played was some sort of Cats game on the computer, followed up by Freddy Fish, and then moving onto the Sims, Spyro and Crash, and I think some Smurf racing game. I didn't actually begin playing video games until I was around 10 years old, so I certainly missed the gems of my time.
