Toni, I have always judged a parent's job at parenting by watching their children behave. Your ten year old writing that letter speaks volumes. How much he loves his family and especially you and his Dad. What a great job you two have done raising your family. His letter says it all. Stand proud when you remember it in years to come. I don't have a tissue nearby so I am literally wiping the tears from my eyes with my shirt sleeve. What your son did...now that is what Christmas is about. I loooooove to hear about selfless acts. This was beautiful. One can always tell how a child is treated and what type of influence they have around them when they do thoughtful things without being told. You brought tears to my eyes when I saw the multi color lamp by the Christmas tree, I too had one of those growing up and felt it was magical. Thanks for taking me back to such a wonderful time in my life. You made everything look beautiful and inexpensive, great job :)

Your story was so heart felt. It had me in tears. Children does the sweetest things. I love your buffet. My husband and I met and marry in Italy. He is from New Oleans too. We brought an Italian dining room set in Naples Italy. It have a huge buffet with a beautiful mirror. We had it now for 26 years. I would love for you to see it. Thanks for the video. Just found your channel....that story brought tears to my eyes. Your son showed just how much he learned about giving back in his upbringing. So important to teach that to kids today who've received way more than we had as kids. Me and hubby do the same with our privileged kiddos who are now in college and graduate school. Oh Kleenex....Need a box, now!!! We too grew up with simplified Christmas and love buying thrift shops and consignment shops I feel so much better to recycle and get great deals to make our home festive. Hi Toni, this was such a heart wrenching video, to watch, it made me cry... You boy is such a wonderful writer for being 10yrs old, and new what to put in that letter to his sister, what a precious memory for you, and years to come when your kids are older they will have that memory as brother and sister.. You should frame that letter, and proudly display it on your buffet, as part of your Christmas decorations.. and a Christmas memory for years to come.. When everyone see that letter they will remember what a magical Christmas that was...Thank You....

+Donna Galvan I do have that letter in a very special place! My son is now 18 and my daughter is 16 (you can see them here is this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0PKG1B1ujA8.html.) My daughter never knew who wrote the letter until this video. That Christmas day when my daughter ran to my son to show him the letter, all he said was "Maya, that's great!!" All these years he never told her he wrote the letter and we never mentioned it. So she was surprised to hear this story! She loves her brother even more this Christmas!

Hi Toni,Now I have seen this video at least 5 times. And I have not been able to leave a comment until now. This is such a wonderful video. That letter is precious! That beautiful child did an amazing job. He knew just what the family needed. Now my first video intro for this collaboration was nothing but tears so I had to composed myself and re-record again. But, the tears were back when I saw this video. Oh how thankful we are for both the past and the present. You are such a beautiful spirit and I just adore your style. The buffet/console is stunning.
