I clean my XTool D1 and check the status of my newly installed air assist. I have done a two week torture test to determine if the cone stops up as much as I have been told. After about 14 hours of use, I take it off an examine the cone.

Vinegar is my favorite cleaning solution for this sort of thing. Distilled water is almost completely non-conductive so you can use that and mix it with any other cleaning solution. I also have alcohol and acetone which I use to clean different parts- depends on what I'm cleaning. Vinegar though is my go-to for general cleaning. I LOVE lazing! Thanks for the vid!

YES! Another great video, David! Thanks for taking the time to help remind us about the importance of keeping our machines clean and running smoothly. Like you, I'm a woodworker and I've learned (don't ask me how!!) over the years that Benjamin Franklin (or somebody a long time ago) was right: "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!" I know people who, for example, use their table saw a TON, but they have never cleaned the pitch off the blades, even though they cut a bunch of Southern pine. Their blades will be loaded with gunk...and just 10 minutes of quick work will make those blades like new again. So, thanks a bunch for making--and sharing--another terrific video. Maybe we viewers/subscribers could throw together enough moolah to buy you some cooling for that Clack Shack, brother! :-) [I know, because my garage shop is neither heated nor cooled, but I make sure I have plenty of air flow in summer months...as well as towels to wipe off the sweat!]

I keep a soft, medium, and firm toothbrush in my cleaning kit. White vinegar works to clean belts.

I am amazed you have run for two weeks. Mine detects fire after about an hour of use cutting 1/8 birch. I clean in between almost every use Have researched so much for answers. Seems like it should work longer than about an hour. While I appreciate the fire sensor. I hate it at the same time

Spent my whole life dealing with it. I have found that with age, it makes me sweat more.

I think your downdraft on your table saves you. Mine gets so dirty so fast I have to clean it after every hour cutting. I have been looking into a mod that would allow me to use the air assist without that nozzle.
@TheClackShack
@TheClackShack 2 года назад
The table may help but I was shocked at how clean it was. I do run the assist anytime it is running inside my work area. I didn’t use the air assist on some of the larger jobs that wouldn’t fit in my work space.

having the downdraft table probably helps too

You can but be very careful with the wires, they can be broken if done wrong.

I can't see how and what tool you used for removing air assist nozzle. That is what I can figure out. My husband built it and I am trying to clean. But can't figure out how to get the nozzle off

Can you please help me my xtool d1 pro module head is stuck first time user I can’t get it to move up or down nor get it off. What am I missing?
@TheClackShack
@TheClackShack Год назад
The tension screw has to be set to rotate. Pull out and turn to get it lined up to loosen the head. The left side of the module

My air assist nozzle clogged completely while running tumblers. Freaked me out a little, my laser stoped working. I was not running the air assist. I usually always run it. I read somewhere not with tumblers. I run it now with everything. The CEO says run it it protects your laser.
@TheClackShack

Yes, the air is needed to keep it clean, or so that's what I believe.

I have considered it but I think I would prefer it with the 20 watt head. Probably gonna wait and see if they offer that as a package. I am limited on space right now.
