I had moved from New York in June 2001 (three months before 9/11). I was 7 years old and in the 2nd grade. We had a small television hooked up in the corner of the classroom where we see this kid version of the morning news (it was called Channel One). I remember the teacher turning the news on and seeing the news about 9/11. I wonder how different it would’ve been for me and my family if we were still there in September of that year. I always say we were blessed, even though I was sad to leave a city/state that was once my home.

my guess is that the elevator shafts funneled them down. explosions are just fiery, rapid expansions, so the fuel and air just followed the path of least resistance. Most of it blew out the side of the building but i guess some was pushed through the shafts, since they offered little resistance, just 1000 feet of air. a couple other testimonies of the event include that "the fireball came out of the elevators, instantly incinerating everyone waiting dutifully at the doors"

Women have worn sneakers or flats to work at least during their commutes, if not all day since the 1970s. Many women are capable of running in heels. On Sept 11th, many people kicked off their shoes and walked or ran barefoot.

While I see & understand your point as a woman, I have to say that many men's dress shoes are not meant for running either. Especially the higher end ones can be rather slippery & uncomfortable. Many businessmen actually wear sneakers into their office as this lady did to prevent from ruining their shoes & so they can get to the office quickly. Many women also commute in flats or sneakers though obviously not all. Businesses attire as a whole is not particularly handy in running or fleeing.

The main structure broke down of the World Trade Center. Which means weight from the higher floors dropped down to the floors below it causing them to collapse all the way to the lobby because the lower floors could not support the weight. It is a fact. Look it up.

B AS then you would have a pancake like structure at the end of the collapse which simply was not there.. the floors literally disintegrated before hitting the ground a collapse does not cause that..

What do you think she should have done? She's a civilian, not a firefighter or EMS.
@xbjrrtc

@@SarahB1863 Good point. Furthermore, the first responders who DID try to help died by the hundreds. What could an untrained civilian have done except create more victims for first responders to take care of? She did the right thing. This person has a lot of gall criticizing a 9/11 victim in retrospect from the comfort and safety of wherever they are.

Everyone heard explosions in the lobby period. There were planted explosives and no one had a clue because everyone was focused on the planes impact. RIP no one should have died
@redadamearth
@redadamearth 2 года назад
"Everyone" did not hear "planted explosives". lol You're referring to a handful of people who *THOUGHT* it was "explosives" before they knew a plane had hit the building, which sent gas and fire down through the tower. FFS. I was there that day - were YOU?

You can't save anyone from a giant fire ball. You run and hope everyone runs too. And to be fair, she was yelling "bomb" the entire time. You also have never been in a burning tower so I would withhold judgement

American Waffle Who's the mayor of New York, bright bulb? Who's the young Queens in her late 20s demanding socialism? Who's the white haired senior citizen who's still alive trying to push for socialism? Twice New Yorkers were attacked by way of landmark buildings and years after the Boston bombing and what party holds office in NYC? C'mon, use your brain.

I would like to point out your horrible grammar which is why I said "That makes no sense." During 9/11 though it was all republicans, and people didn't blame the republican's for 9/11 so I don't get your point and how it is connected to this video. (I am a republican)

So you were at the lobby when it happened, you had sneakers and ran as fast as you could; cut a path through all the people, got into a taxi and went home. Okay, so why are you telling that story if you weren’t a survivor? You actually ran screaming through the crowds, stop a taxi and went home. 😐
