I personally think the current white Rangers jersey, is one of the best jerseys in sports. Love the design. Also love their Winter Classics.........both amazing jerseys.
I really like the “heritage” 3rd jerseys they had about 8-10 years ago. Something about the Rangers diagonal on the dark blue was chef’s kiss to me. It was similar to the dark blue Winter Classic jersey, but it didn’t have the white shield on the upper left of the chest. I’d always choose that jersey when playing ‘chel.
The Rangers fans hated the 70’s Logo jersey not because of the look but because they never won when they wore them. The 1992 throwback jersey Messier’s first yr with team was my absolute favorite.
I personally don’t mind the blue one as a third jersey which is similar to their current their current third jersey, the problem was that you can’t replace the classic rangers jersey design with anything, not even lady Liberty (which when they made a white version made me theorize they were considering making the Liberty jerseys their main jerseys)
The Lady Liberty are by far my favorites. As iconic as the Statue of Liberty is none of the local sports teams really use her much which is perplexing.
My favourite is the last one that Gretz played in. I love the era when lacers used to actually have functional laces, Montreal also had their best jerseys then IMO.
The best New York Rangers jersey is the 2012 winter classic going back too 1926 logo! My dad has a Brad Richards Winter classic jersey and I have a Adidas Chris Kreider!
The classic white rangers jersey will always be their best HOWEVER my personal favorite is the heritage jersey from the 2010s that was dark navy and instead of white it was that off white/beige color with the NEW YORK word mark.
As a Danish Rangers fan and former player, I have 3 jerseys left, 2 liberty jerseys blue, Beukeboom #23 and white #99 I was at MSG watch some games w the great one playing there,, I have a Lindross jersey whiter classic rangers all original BTW and I had a upper deck certified signed Greatzky jersey I gave to my nephew,,,
Back around 06 I found a Gretzky Liberty jersey on eBay for a great price. Convinced my dad to bid on it in place of a few week’s allowance. He had the winning bid until 30 seconds before the auction ended. Some dude named Patbou ended up with it. Still upset.
You know... for the longest time, I had a pajama set as a kid that was modeled after the 70s' jersey. Which is why when I got back into hockey, I was bummed out that I couldn't find one with just the shield on the front!
When Bender said kill all humans, he always whispered except Fry. When I say I hate all Rangers, I always whisper except Mike Richter and Brian Leetch. They have some sharp looks across their eras.
I don’t hate the Winnipeg-esque jersey as an artifact, but I think if I were around back then I’d have hated to see it supplant the classic diagonal lettering. I’d love to see the New York diagonal come back in some form…I’ve always wanted one of those for my collection but I still don’t have one.
I think is also worth noting that Rangers AHL affiliate Hartford Wolfpack did rebrand for a couple seasons as Connecticut Whale. I was able to get one of the Whale jersey with Ryan Bourque (son of NHL legend Ray Bourque). The AHL whale jersey seems to be hard to find these days.
As a Rangers fan, I had no idea the 70s jersey was/is hated to the point of it not getting use, and that makes me so sad It's honestly my all time favourite jersey with the Rangers shield on the front
They brought back the lace on the neckline in 97-98 and also changed the striping while the previous design had blue gaps on the sleeve and hem striping while the 97-98 to current design does not
I was one of the fans who hated that hideous jersey change in the mid-70's. Figures it was John Ferguson- no prior connection with Rangers whatsoever - who did the deed (probably on purpose). However if you have to have a 3rd jersey- I'm not a fan of these certainly for NYR- the Ferguson jersey is the one to go with since we only have to see it on occasion. Don't ever change classic NYR jerseys. In fact I'd love to see the Rangers return to the classic deep, dark blue jersey they had through the 60s (maybe these should be their everyday jerseys). Just like the ones worn by the greats- Bathgate, Gilbert, Ratelle, Park, Giacomin/Villemure.
Not too long ago, I actually managed to get the 2014 WC jersey. It wasn’t NWT, but it was pretty damn near new. I’ve also got the SS jersey, which is now signed by lundqvist and framed
Well about time!! They don’t ever change if much it’s usually the stripes that have changed over the years. I love the shield jersey, I’m so sick of the liberty jersey, they need to change it up. 🙏
I dont think the Devils had a shiny logo on their jersey for that Stadium Series like every other team did. I'm pretty sure Lou hates fun and refused it so they just wore the 80s throwbacks. They had a shiny logo made up for graphics and stuff, but it wasn't on the jersey itself.
I have Mike Richter in the home white and the blue 3rd line. I got the 3rd line from the garden when they were playing the Atlanta Thrashers and Mike went down with a hit to the TMJ. Mike Johnson came in in relief and the Rangers lost 5-2
My team 🥰 ive always said the NHL needs to go back to whites at home so the road teams have colorful varities. Also each team should have atleast 4 jerseys (2H,2A) & any heritage specality etc. I got an 09 Gaborik (my 1st jersey) 2010 Heritage, 2012 WC Hank, white Nash (SCF’14 patch) 2014 SS Nash, WC18 Hank (my fav) & RR2 Mika.
Everyone loves the white Rangers away jersey more better than the home jersey because of the stripes on the shoulders people do say its one of the best away jerseys in the NHL
Don't have the early 2010's Navy Heritage Jersey? But yeah... I still prefer our traditionals over lady liberty. There's a reason they have been practically unchanged as our primaries. Classic.
For both Rangers Reverse Retro jerseys and I do have both I do like both jerseys but I gotta go with the RR 2.0 jersey more because they added the red on the sleeves and also they added the Rangers blue on the jersey
Most of my jerseys are fakes, just because of how much money a real one is. However, the reverse retro from this year told me that it was time, so that is my favorite Rangers jersey ever
