This!! What a great message. You need to be you. It was hard to hear this. I feel so sad it was like this for you, but I am glad you have found yourself. My son came out when he was just out of highschool. I still remember it like it was yesterday. I was folding laundry and he came and sat by me and said, "I have something to tell you.". He seemed so serious, I was worried. He said, "I'm gay". And my response was...."And?" because I was SO worried he was going to tell me something awful or bad that had happened. He said, "Nothing, that is it". I'm like, "Oh thank goodness, I thought it was going to be something bad". I asked if he wanted to talk about it or anything...and he just smiled and said no....he then said, "Mom, I just knew it wouldn't make a difference to you." I was like, "How could it? I love you-just you. Whatever, however, you are. Unconditionally." We have talked about it off and on now and he lets me know how hard it is for others...and I am just sad. Ed, I am so glad you are you and you found your footing. 💕💕

A mother’s love is indestructible no matter what. So sorry that you had to live the first 30 years in hiding. Things have definitely gotten better in the past 20 years but it depends on where you live, unfortunately. My uncle always used to say, “ who would choose to be an outcast, abused, hated and beaten up?” It infuriates me when people insist that it’s a choice. I’m so happy you got through it and came out on top. I don’t know you personally but you seem to be a warm, loving, and compassionate person and your family is lucky to have you. ❤

I am glad you came to terms with things. Living in a smaller place has its own charms, but it also has its own challenges, including for younger gay people. I feel for your dad. It must have been so traumatic for him, realising the impact of a comment that he probably just repeated without thinking much about. Thank you for the video!

I had a friend come out to me, we were close for many years and I was so upset because I didn’t think we had any secrets, and I felt hurt that he couldn’t trust me. So glad you shared your story, it hurt my heart that it took you so long to come out. I have friends that did the same thing, and it was so hard to see them so unhappy and there wasn't anything I could do. Everyone should be able to be who they are and live their lives the way they want to. Yet in 2023 there are people who don't want certain communities to exist and want to take away rights and health care. It boils my blood!!😡🤬 I think you are a wonderful person and deserve to be happy, even though we don't know each other personally I love you. Keep it up Gurl!! Much love to you always!!❤❤❤❤❤

Thank you for sharing ❤️ I'm sorry you had such a hard time but you are right, it does make you who you are💗 My oldest daughter told me she was pansexual in her teens (she's 24 now) and I was not surprised, I knew she preferred girls! This past year she told me she identifies as gender fluid and wanted to go by Dani. I read everything I could so I would understand better as to how to refer to her/they and asked how she wanted me to refer to her, she said she most of the time. The only mistake I made was still calling her Danielle until her younger sister questioned me about it and I said well all she needs to do is tell me (I thought she just wanted her friends to call her Dani) she said she did the other night. We had had a party and we had done a little partying and were acting silly and I didn't catch her saying she preferred Dani and brushed it off! I felt awful and we had a talk about it and I apologized and asked her to forgive me if I slip and say Danielle once in a while, she said it was fine! I thinks it's definitely a different time now and people are more open but there are so many that are not and judge people and call them horrible names, it makes me so mad! All we need to do is love people for who they are and from what I have seen in your videos you are very sweet person 💗

Thank you so much Carol ❤️ and from what I hear your daughter knows she is very loved and that you are going to do your best to to follow her wishes. I wish Dani and the rest of your family the best! Thank you for sharing your story. I had a close male friend who came out to me in 10th grade. This was in the late 80s. I remember he was shocked that I still wanted to be friends. It broke my heart that he felt that way. I surely didn’t care, he was so funny, kind, and sweet. We lost touch but I think of him often and hope he’s doing well. Your grandmother sounds like an awesome lady! ❤ I am so glad you are happy now and so thankful your parents were supportive. P.S: My husband’s best friend came out to him in college. This same friend later became my co-worker and was the person who introduced me to my husband. I remember hearing about my husband and thinking “he’s a straight man with a gay best friend, he’s got to be a great guy”. I was right. Our friend was the best man in our wedding. ❤ P.S: Happy Pride Month!

I have a question. We have a family member and we are with the understanding he is gay. It's important to say he was teased a lot during Jr. High School. Anyway, recently, I began to think that maybe he isn't gay. He does have many gay friends and has hang out at gay bars, but according to his gay friends, they've never seen him with another guy or has ever had a boyfriend. So I asked him if he were gay and he said,, "he finds men attractive, but is not sexually attracted to them". What does this mean? I think he just tells people he's gay to avoid being questioned otherwise. It's easier for him not to have to explain. Also, I know for a fact he's never been with a woman, even though women do find him attractive. Is he BINARY or A-Sexual? Do you think he gravitates towards gays because they are more accepting of him, whereas, with straights due to the teasing? I see his relationship with straight people more on a superficial level. He doesn't get close to them.
@EdBraun137
@EdBraun137 Год назад
So I really wish I could answer your question. But honestly nobody really knows the answer other then him ❤️ and honestly he may be still trying to figure himself out. which is ok 😊 but until then you love him and accept him and make sure he know that no matter who he is your going to love him forever ❤️ much love ❤️

@dapperlygrungy3189 Год назад
@@EdBraun137 Thank you. We are very close. He doesn't let anyone in, gay or straight. I think he knows exactly who he is. He's just private about it. I do think he hangs out with gays because he is not judged or questioned. He really isn't interested in a gay relationship; strictly on a friendship level only. I've seen him receive a few business cards from men and later throws them away.
