I love how all the desktop cases look immaculate and pretty, with none of the old beige monstrosities still running windows 95 or franken computers cobbled together in the cheapest, blackest, case possible with an extra hole for a big fan made in the side with metal clips and at least one thing held in place by a zip tie. lol

That 00 error on the mobo for the "no cpu" you didn't check if the fan was pluged in... and you could have saved a lot of money on this one.

The cooler turned on when he powered it on. I don’t think the game would go that detailed that fast. It’s still in early/easy game.

I noticed that too, hopefully he doesn't need anything else. Also I can't remember, but maybe he had an old card in stock from another customer he could use rather than buy a new one.

A few useful tips that I picked up are you can install programs like will it run on your computer; and when not working on a computer press i for inventory so you don’t buy things you’ve already got

you can overdraw your account up to 1000 dollars, you don't always have to replace the exact part a customer needed fixed (like if you need to replace a broken cpu you would put in a really cheap one), there is an inventory when looking at pcs so you can tell if a part you picked up is broken.

Paul - take advantage of your used parts inventory. You could have put in the 2GB RAM sticks you have into the "upgrade to 8GB RAM" one.

Paul idk if you have in later episodes, but why dont you just install will it run on your PC so you can check the games they want before you accept the offer, and then buy the parts so you have them for the day the PC comes in.

Yeah, as others have already stated, Paul, you didn't check to see what the recommended specs are for the game that customer wanted to run. Although, he *did* underpay you, so--if it were possible--you could just tell him that he should have paid you more up front for the job. ;~) And, yes, it might not be a bad idea to keep used parts around (especially if they sell for peanuts) for situations just like this one.

Crossfire still exists, just need a compatible board, AMD is much better in multi gpu setups because you dont need a bridge between them and any amd card is compatible for crossfire while nvidia requires a 1070 or better for sli, and it must be the exact same card for both

Whenever you install any software on customers PC remove using the same add/remove app so you keep customers in your line

You would use several scanners as different ones pick up find/fix different virus.

I could maybe get into an alternate version of this game set in a different time period of hardware. Maybe mid-2000s, with some customers bringing in stuff from 10+ years prior. This modern stuff kinda loses me, but I enjoy the commentary here with Paul's experience. Confused how that PC was POSTing with no CPU, and then saying there was no CPU. That makes my head hurt. I wonder if it would be a good idea to hold on to used parts so you can use them for troubleshooting later on. On that note, I wish we had a multimeter.. but I guess that's expecting too much detail from the game. This is the kind of game that would be great if it was integrated with other games, like Test Drive Unlimited or something. More realistically, I'll give the game points if it can use your real mp3/flac/etc files.

Just watched from the first episode today, and I gotta say this is super entertaining xD Especially with your stories and knowledge. Also because I litterally am in the middle of upgrading my pc with better parts, and of course I screwed up and didn't have a CPU cooler that fit *facepalm*

Why don’t you use the parts from old jobs to upgrade? Like for example the ram. You have extra ram sticks, why not use them in more slots instead of buying all new ones (other than ram speed differences)

In this game i keep seeing people (you too Paul included) who install things on the (virtual) customers computer and then just unplug it and send it back to the customer. IRL you would uninstall the program before sending it back right?

Hi, Paul! I subscribed a few weeks ago because of Subnautica. I made a comment that I was asthonished to find out that you started this LetsPlay already in October 2017 and you replied that you are normally uploading 2- 3 new videos per week. But unfortunately you have since only uploaded 1 video per week - and the last video came now online *10* days ago. I understand that it is your decision when to upload something but please understand also that it really sucks having to wait 1 week and more for the next 25 minutes of the game *!*

It seems like the repair person in this game should be able to negotiate the price depending on the complexity, overhead, and other costs.

Do you have a way of contacting the developers? I keep locking up when rejecting or quiting a job. You have to pay attention, some of them you would lose money on.

You can quit the job from the Email after you accepted it, if you think you'll make a loss.
