Hello.my name is Candy Murphy.I wrote this song when I was 16 years old for my Sister Cindy.It is a tale of love,loss,emigration and the bond between Grandmother and Grandaughters.Since my Sister first recorded this song,our Family band "The Murphys" have toured the world and there has been in excess of 30 recordings of the song to date.My Mom,two Sisters and myself all wear Connemara Marble Rings.I wrote this song from my heart and I hope that you will take it into yours.x

This song is up there with the best waltz song to come out of Ireland in the last ten years. The word and the melody are so pleasing to the ear and a really clever bit of songwriting. You listen to the song and your either singing it or humming the tune for the rest of the day. When a tune gets stuck in your head, you've nailed it. Well done.

hi candy --thank u for your lovely reply....i will be on the look out for your new single ..whats the name of the song?i am singing at the kevin prendergast night in mayo in august and have chosen :connemara marble ring :as one of the waltzes i will sing ..I might even wear a connemara marble ring to bring me good luck i REMEMBER when i was young I worked in a shop in our local town and I sold some connemara marble rings
