We use a ruger 10-22 takedown in our hunts and videos. Can't beat how portable it is, especially in the woods. Throw it in the backpack and carry on to the next tree!
nice video! Btw don't ever go with any type of see- thru scope rings. I use to use them then talked to my gun Smith who explained you can't get a good cheek weld on your scope since it's higher so there goes your shoot ability. If you look it up you will find a more detailed description but your gun optic set up is really go from the way you say.
2 things you need to add to your gear. 1. 50 foot of para cord, for a dog that climbs a tree or gets down in a hole, also can make a spare leash. #2. Bleed stop, it's $5 at Wal Mart, if you or your buddy gets cut, or your dog on a fence or piece of glass.....it may save your life. Cheap insurance.
With all the tacticool BS single point slings all the civvies gotta own on their AR 15s, that double sling is fucking genius! Practical as hell, and I bet you didn't have to pay extra for some brand name to be on it. P.S. 17 HMR kicks ass on small to medium game
You better put you a patent on that sling and make you some money buddy before someone else capitalizes on your idea! Great idea, can you make a video showing how to make one? Jason
So brand new to coon hunting and in the process now of trapping one to start training my bluetick. Saw your videos on skinning and fetching. Curious how in detail I need to go if I will just be using skin as a training skin?
Good setup can't beat nitelite. I love the 17 hmr but use 22lr on account of hide damage. Is there a particular brand/round you use that you have found that causes minimal hide damage?
another quality video thanks. I run a beagle after the rabbits and have the T5 mini collar and the astro 320 and was wondering how long the battery on the collar would probably last before needing replacement, I realize its a little different from yours and you probably put more hours on than I do but just a ball park idea thanks
You ever tried hunting raccoons with the Crosman break barrel 22 caliber air rifles they do a good job on a raccoon only one shot and you got a dead raccoon
A trick we used in the marines was use the medium (think blue color) lock tite on our scopes mounting hardware so that it never came off and won't lose your zero.
I bought a .17 Marlin and now that they are made by Remington I have had to send it back to them 3 times to get fixed and finally gave up on Marlin altogether...we could never get it to sight in because the barrel wasn't straight to everything else...so check you guns....finally went with another gun in the same caliber
We lion hunt with hounds and use 30s,40s and tt15s. I run a 320 and like the hell out of it. do you think ol rebel dog would run a cat. bet he would to bad you can't run him on bobcats!!
nice video learned a lot especially on your weapon and ammo. that was my main question and you answered it nicely. have you ever hunted over any other breed other than a blue tick?
Good video Stu. I have the Marlin XT in 22 Mag and really like it for yotes when calling them in the bush. My 17 is a Savage from before the accu trigger came out and it is a tack driver. Great cartridge.
Great job Stu!!! I sure enjoy the new video equipment! Hey, one piece of advice, don't worry about how long your video goes😉 we all have subscribed for a reason and it's because of how you are! You sure have a heart of a teacher so keep up the great work you do! Have a great one Stu!
