I have 200k miles on my Raptor running like champ I did have to replace sunroof rails And oil pan was replaced once I think it leaking again but next time I’m not going with plastic oil pan I’m going with metal oil pan. 👍🏻 raptors are great truck with great 3.5 eco boost engine However great great video 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Make sure you clean the surface well and the sealant HAS to sit ideally 12-16 hours once installed before putting oil back in the truck. Otherwise you're doing it again. 17 years experience with Ford
The plastic part is only the lower half. A metal pan replacement is much more involved! Edit: My 2018 3.5 Ecoboost has a leak free plastic oil pan! 65k of overlanding and trailer towing so far.
I had my 2017 raptor leaky plastic oil pan replaced by ford dealership twice and each time leaked again after a few months. . I decied to go to my local auto shop and have them replace with a metal oil pan from a 2018 raptor. The pick up tube also needs to be replaced as well in order to fit. . . . No more leaky oil pan for me eversince.
Thanks for sharing man! I learned the forscan tricks thanks to your vids. Hopefully you will teach us how to do a radiator flush and upgrade the coolant fluid with the new version. No videos on yt for raptors. Cheers
This reminds me of my 18 Raptor. I absolutely loved that truck. However, it definitely did not love me back. I too had my plastic oil pan replaced with another plastic one and it still continued to leak oil. Along with a handful of other problems that my Raptor gave me in abundance. It was my dream truck but unfortunately I had to get rid of it.
On a scale of 1 to 10 this should be a 2…. (Says the guy working in his OWN shop, with his own LIFT, and owns EVERY tool ever made) 🤴🏻 Meanwhile in the “real world”: I’ll be laying down on my driveway - hoping my Harbor Freight jack stands hold up 🦧
It's not a brand issue. It's a modern vehicle combined with EPA and weight savings requirements. Buddy had a TRX and it was in the shop more than he drove it. Had shifting issues, the ring and pinion exploded while he was taking his son to baseball practice and even fried the pcm when they had to update it. That's why modern vehicles suck.
You need to go ahead and drink a few pickle beers. 1 for owning a Ford, 1 for owning a 21st century vehicle, and 1 for taking it to the stealership for repairs.
