My Crazy Birth Story| Never made it to the hospital-Dad caught the baby 

So similar to my experience 16 years ago. I sent my husband off that morning sure that nothing was happening. Washed windows all morning(nesting) and felt intense fatigue so laid down for a nap. Woke up to a pop as my water broke. Intense contractions but had no Idea how close I was. Couldn't reach my husband, my mom came by and tryed to get me to go to the hospital and finally I agreed, only in the driveway I suddenly knew, just like you that I was having him at home. My poor mom followed me back inside, I called over my shoulder for her to call 911, I called my husband one more time and he answered, he was home in less than 10 minutes and caught our son. Looking back at phone calls, the total labor from when I woke up, 40 minutes. My almost 2 year old was with me and my mother, remember thinking I hope she's not scared but then heard her little excited voice, "Baby, baby!" I did go in to the hospital and had to stay two days but we were healthy and I honestly don't remember any real pain and the recovery was easy because my body wasn't worn out from a long labor. I felt empowered to realize how, we are created for this, it was as if I was watching my body do the work, couldn't have stopped it if I wanted to.

I think this has been the most entertaining birth story I’ve ever listened too , I alternated between laughing and tearing up 😂❤ my favorite mental image while listening was Troy frantically running circles preparing to FLY to the hospital 😂

I wanted to have my last baby at home , I was 45 min. In the hospital and the baby was born. I love this story and I am also in love with the birth process. My mother in law is a nurse who worked in the hospital delivering baby’s. I love this! Congratulations on such a beautiful precious baby! Home birth is so much better for the baby!

I lived among Mennonites for seven years. Coming into the church from the 'outside'. I did missionary work in South America with some Witmers. Lovely people. You remind me of a woman I worked with ( a younger version 😊). Very genuine and down to earth. It is so strange to see Mennonites on RU-vid. There was a day that this platform would have not been permissible. Good to see this is not the case. Obviously you have a relationship with Jesus, and not just a religion. Bravo sister in Christ. Such a Beautiful story and such a beautiful boy! I love your testimony of peace and calm! I’m one of those people who think that so much of how labor goes is in our heads. I could see myself doing this but it would be my husband’s worst nightmare he says so we will try to always get to the birth clinic in time. We’ve had three very good birth experiences. And my midwife told me over and over that it’s the second child that she most often misses-they go surprisingly faster. Glad you are doing so well!

I loved hearing your story! I smiled and smiled the whole time. It sounds so much like my son’s birth several years ago, he was also my second child and our labor stories sound so similar except we did make it to the hospital and I was pushing him out within 5 minutes of them wheeling (running, haha) me into a room. But my labor was also so short and I didn’t realize I was in true labor until I was in transition and could barely speak in between horrible back labor contractions. Our birth stories are something to be so proud of 🙌🏼 great job, mama!! 🎉❤

Loved your birth story! It was very similar to my 2nd birth except mine was a planned homebirth. My midwife had warned me that many times 2nd babies come fast! I was so shocked that it went so fast and smooth compared to my first birth!

My husband and I just laughed!! 😂 This has happened twice to us! We just had our 7th 8 wks ago and I had such a pain free labor that I didn't realize how close we were... He was caught by my husband, and the midwife walked in 30 seconds later! 😂 The humor seems to be part of it! Both times we just laughed and laughed at the whole situation! Praise God for healthy labors and babies!! ❤ May your family be blessed!

Thanks for the laugh! It’s nearly identical to our second baby’s birth. I suddenly took control and gave my husband orders. Daddy caught the baby with the midwife’s assistance on the phone. The midwife laughed and said it’s the second one that always catches you off guard. Expecting our next baby in several weeks. We decided on having a home birth. 😉 So glad everything turned out well for you!

Glorious!!! I loved this one!! The lord is my helper is what did it - he was faithful! I had 3 boys...my last one was 99% pain free - because I kept saying "Christ in me the hope of glory!" I am not sure why this verse was so meaningful but it was like I understood he was in me, helping me birth this baby out and it literally relaxes my entire body! Such an amazing experience! You did so well!!! Great job staying in HIM and birthing you boy in peace!!!! Super proud of you ❤

I love crazy birth stories! My 6th was born in the car after a 57 minute labor (and being pulled over by the sheriff who did nothing to help us...) But of all my babies, this was my absolute favorite, and it was so evident to see God's hand in it all. I totally understand what you said about it being freeing and loving it. This is so special! It’s similar to my story with my first son. My husband had 911 on the phone and he caught the baby. Soon there were like 10 men from the fire department there so embarrassing 😂 and the baby and I went in the ambulance to the hospital. Glad your MIL was able to come! Congratulations ❤

Hahaha that was so funny at points! Loved watching that. I'm really hoping for a more peaceful second birth as well as my first one was really traumatic even though I feel like I went into it very calm and chill. I'll definitely be praying about it more this time as I didn't really talk to God much about the first one beforehand.

Congratulations on your little boy. Both my son and daughter were born early. My son 4 days before the due date and I came home from the hospital the day he was due. He was his dad's father's day present (born the day before Father Day 53 years ago) and our daughter was born 3 days before she was due and always say she is in a hurry ever since. GOD IS GOOD! I am so happy for you. I've had six and they were all natural and sounds like just as peaceful! A truly non painful transcendent experience. Even had one breech vaginally no meds. It was wonderful ❤❤❤

I loved listening to your story!! My first baby arrived in 1 hour and 55 minutes, immediately going into transition when my water broke at home. Almost didn't make it to the hospital, 110mph! LOL My 2nd baby came in 1 hour, 50 minutes - that time I was IN the hospital being checked, as I had passed my mucous plug at home. So, when the doctor was doing his examination, he inadvertently ruptured my water - STILL not in labor. Being Sunday at noon, hubby wanted to eat - I told him "Sure, go ahead. It'll be hours, so don't hang around...go eat, honey". The moment he left the room, I immediately went into tumultuous labor and delivered my beautiful daughter. Husband came back from sadly finding every restaurant closed (Sunday, remember?), to "Congratulations, Dad! You've got a daughter!" 🤩😅
