New phrase for me: “Oldy-worldy”! Love it! It describes a look I admire but have never tried. Your piece is beautiful, and I appreciate the process you described, which required taking a step back and being able to pivot. Such a wise tip!
@jodieflavell
@jodieflavell 3 года назад
It's from the old English Phrase , "ye Olde' World" 🙂 I liked the way the piece was originally going but just didn't suit the paper at all! I'm glad you found it useful to see the pivoting.. thank you!

I LOOOVE YOU JODIEEEE FLAVELL :) I love watching your tutorials, I so appreciate how you show your entire creative process, how you change directions/solve problems to create such a beautiful work of art. That's what creativity is. Your energy is always so positive, you literally brighten my day and have taught me more than anyone by just doing your thing and showing that.I love seeing how you take risks, maybe add something you don't like but always work with the piece until you're happy. You are a real artist, and you show people what art is really about. Love your work, always

Lydia I somehow missed your comment I'm really sorry, but you're so lovely, it made me smile 🥰🥰 I'm so glad you're enjoying my tutorials, that means a lot! Especially if they .ake your day a little brighter too. I definitely think (for myself) painting needs to be about fun & experimenting, otherwise it stops being an outlet and it becomes work, which is never fun 😅 Thank you again for the kind words and I hope you have a lovely weekend 😘😘

OMG!!! I have a waterfall dresser that I feel like I stole because it was only $15. Someone in their 20's who didn't realize what they had and I have been wanting one for at least 20yrs. I've been staring at it for a couple of months because it needs something extra, ya know. This video has lit a spark! I personally like boho. I'm all about vibrant color. So I'm off to find something like this. Thank you 💕

@@jodieflavell Hi, okay, this will help me with my project. I am about to start a Bombe chest with decoupage, and wanted to try using transfer decals as well as air dry clay moulding. @@jodieflavell Hi, thanks for getting back to me, appreciated. Yes, I was thinking of putting my decoupage on first, then applying the transfers around the picture and possibly into parts of it. Thank you so far, have a wonderful week with your creations!! Sandra x

I thoroughly enjoyed watching the full transition of your piece. Many changes that took a lot of time and effort. I assume you sell your furniture, but given the time invested how do you price it? I imagine you can't really recoup the true value given the time you spent. I'm trying to figure that aspect out for myself since it seems that I spend far too much time reworking and detailing to make a real profit. I realize that painting furniture for most of us is an art, and we are immersed in the creative process, but to also make it a profitable enterprise, I need to also not invest as much time in each piece. Dilemma. How do you deal with it? Doing RU-vids hopefully helps pay the bills....?
@jodieflavell
@jodieflavell 3 года назад
Hey Sydni, there is no real straight forward answer when it comes to selling. I don't really have any problems but then I have grown a customer base out of the kind of style I do. Occasionally I might have something sitting there longer then others but I think this can be quite normal. My suggestion would be to paint a small, inexpensive piece you can easily store and see how it goes if you're a little worried about the selling side of things 🙂
