The Tim Burton/Beetlejuice aesthetic came out SO GOOD!! The little touches of green just totally bring it to life ( **I am not mentioning the thumbtail, I will not acknowledge that thumbtail, I refuse** )
!!!! The THUMB!! It’s so life like, the painting is really good 👍🏾 that’s why it’s so … jarring 😂😂😂 I reallllly really like the video and the build! ESP with the thumb it makes him seem more stitched together like a zombie dog griffin bat thing
Thank you Bill! I actually plan on taking my sculpture and moving to the sand worm planet next spring. My monster and I found a great deal on a space bungalow. Visit anytime!
Thanks Dave! I didn’t even think about that show while I was making it but several people referenced it in comments and I’m like “oh dang y’all are totally right!” 😂
This piece, Monster Bash, and so much fun. Thank you for the reminder to have fun, for not being too hard on yourself, and for inspiring so many others with your art. I'm so happy I got to do a piece for the same release day for this round (thanks for opening it up to everyone!)
Hey thank you so much! I’m glad you’re having fun with art and feeling inspired! I think one of the best aspects of monster bash is how easy it is for a lot of us to participate in the magic 💫
The chartreuse next to the white and black was a really cool touch. I tried this challenge and my wife said it looked Henson esq. Love the Burton style.
Thanks. Your little pep talk resonated with me, I've been working on a project and I keep reworking it. Finally tonight I got it to a point where I don't hate it but I felt almost scared to push forward for fear of wrecking what I have. I need to just get it done and move on.
First time catching your channel, thanks to the link from @BillMakingStuff. What a cool episode, I'll subscribe to catch more. Very detailed, you have a keen eye for creative design and can relate to the process, expectations vs. the commitment to dedicate time and talent, plus the wow factor through the final reveal. Your work is outstanding! Excellent narration, editing, and personality,. Made me want to watch the movie all over again! You have a new fan. I look forward to watching previous episodes. Keep up the good work. Cheers!
Absolutely love all the textures you created on this and the painting looks wonderful! Totally felt you on the perfectionist part haha, but your build came out so lovely in the end! Love the way you used all the cards~
Thank you! I’m pretty darn happy with it and glad I just let it go a bit and ran with the messy style 🙂 And hey thanks so much for watching! I’m sad we didn’t overlap in one of the video calls - we’ll have to link up and chat sometime ✌🏻👽💙
I just received nerdecrafter's 2nd craft box and I've started two of her sculptures but got stuck. You've given me the courage and inspiration to keep going ❤️ I love your art style and your video style and will now binge watch your channel haha!
Hi! It makes me so happy to hear I have helped to motivate you to keep going 🤗 And that you for watching my videos - it is always amazing to hear that folks enjoy my art and content! Thank you so much for watching 💙
Hi Raq! God that thumb!😆 At the cost of sounding obsessive, I give you the compliments for the video editing, the dynamic framing changes, the lights, very well done! 👏🏻 I love the Tim Burton style, and you look good on this style. So if you do it again I'm sure it will come out fine!👍🏻😊
Thank you so much! I really do appreciate comments like this. So much effort goes into a RU-vid video beyond the art project itself and it is very nice to feel like viewers “see” that effort. Again, really appreciate it. Thanks for watching and I’m sure I’ll be putting more spooky content out into the world soon! 👻
Oh my goodness!!!! This monster is the best!!! Please please please let me in next time?! I'd love to participate. Hoping to do a few collabs eventually too. How fun!!! Great job:)
Thank you! I’m so happy with my weird little monster 🙂 You’re welcome to download the cards to make a monster any time! If you use #monsterbash and tag me on IG I’m pretty good at seeing those and sharing! Not sure when or how we’ll do the next monster bash yet 💙
Just finished mine and FINALLY getting to watch everyone's video! I am relating too hard to the last minute stresses, but so glad you pulled through it and made that wonderful thumb!
Just found you from Bill Making Stuff's Monster Bash video! The thumb is so awkwardly creepy it works. Now I have to decide between being productive and checking out the rest of your channel. lol Thanks for sharing.
I think you know the answer…just waste away here on RU-vid…I know that’s what I’ll be doing today 😉 Haha but seriously I’m glad you’re here and I’m glad Bill sent you my way! 💙
Absolutely wonderful sculpture! Thanks so much for being open about the struggles you went through. I get those feelings during projects often as well, so it was nice to hear that I'm not the only one. AND THAT THUMB
Thank you! And yes of course you’re not the only one. We all get flustered and get in our heads…we just got to remember that it’s temporary and figure out a way to move through it 👽 Cheers and thumbs up to you! Haha
excellent video! the soundtrack at 8:20 such a Burton/Elfman workshop montage! maybe put an @ out to Burton? your Neitherworld eques Opossum deserves a cameo at least :)
Check out this playlist for all the Monster Bash III creations ru-vid.com/group/PLiWIXKdHWWrul0yjNsjfGYJBCX6bhTzd3 and don't forget to give this video a big thumbs up 👍
I think sculpting is one of the most rewarding creative activities for me. I wonder... do you bake the supersculpey before or after adding the green stuff? I always curious on the mix technic from both kinds of clay. Thanks for the video the music is Great!
Hello 👋 I’m so glad you enjoyed the video and the tunes 🎶 I definitely recommend baking the sculpey first and then adding the green stuff…I don’t think the green stuff would survive a trip in the oven 🙃
Nice work! I really like the texture that you gave to your monster. The claws and the teeth are great too! This was a fun bash to watch. What software filter or plug in or you using to give the TV style of lines on your final shots? I need to do a faux TV effect for my next video and I'd love to check it out.
Hello 👋 Thanks for stopping by and thanks for the kind words! So I do all my editing in Final Cut Pro and the effect is called “bad tv” but I tend to play with the setting and tone it down to meet my needs. It’s a pretty fun effect!
@@RaqrexArt Thanks so much for getting back to me. I'm working in Premiere Pro and After Effects, so no Final Cut Pro on this end. I'll explore some other avenues and work it out, I just thought that yours was already looking cool and thought I should ask. Nice Monster Bashing! : )
The monster is awesome !!! And that thumb !!! It's really well done, it's grosst (a mix of great and gross). Well played. Now just a quick question, why didn't you just prime the whole piece white and then add the different colors ??? And I should really start on that chess set like I said a few months earlier after you made yours.
Listen. I realized so far into the stripes that I could have done it much smarter and much faster with a spray prime and painters tape…but it was too little too late 😂 Haha but hey thank you and yes you totally should!!! ♟
@@RaqrexArt I didn't sketch as I said I would. But I didn't do nothing either. I started to think about how to do it and what to do. And now this project as been transformed into a project spanning multiple years. Because I now want to do nineteen different "chess armies" and four different chess boards. So thank you. Because a multi years project is something I feel was missing in my life and I would not have realised that without your help.
6:24 - That little dancing lol All the textures came out great! They brought that sculpture to life. Great job as always =) (And yeah, that thumb feels so out of place. Kinda uncomfortable to look at XD )
Oh yes I spared no amount of detail while painting that thumb 😆 And of course you may pet the cursed snake dog thingy as long as you know that it is at your own risk…
