I love my Granophyre to pieces, and I have been wanting to pair it with a matching Omega 412 with DV77s and VM1265s, which has quickly become my favorite speaker combo.
A dude by me has a 2x12 omega cab with a Govenor 75 and a v128L is it worth what he's asking g 500$ and it's a vertical. I have a 50w stealth and a evh 50w el34 head to play through it if I buy will it sound good?
Seriously cant stress enough, the intro is a 10/10 mix. As of semi recently I now rock a Grano with DV 77 paired with whatever other speaker I'm feeling for the mix to blend with, and It has yet to fail me on any song so far. Truly one of the best combos I've ever experienced.
Hey Kyle, you’ve helped me understand a lot of things that I’ve had questions about. Your channel is great, and a refreshing take on gear demos. I’m also into hardcore punk, thrash and grind so your demos help a lot. I can’t stand watching lead noodling the entire time. It’s really hard to get a feel for a piece of kit without playing chords. Thanks a lot.
Not only does the amp look gorgeous, but it also sounds *beastly* . It sounds great, and the "non-traditional" speakers used really compliment the sound. I know I'm saying this more and more as I continue to watch this channel, but these are some of the best tones I've ever heard from you.
I prefer the sound when it is boosted. It's more alive and add a lil bit sizzle in the top end. That cab with that combination of speaker is awesome. Someone should make IR with this cab.
GREAT sound!! It very uncanny sounds like my sound in the old days in Danish punk band Dream Police. I ran a 1973 mk. 2 Super Bass Marshall w. master volume. I don't recall which 4x12", a BOSS OD-1 and TC electronics distortion for drive, very powerful sound!! Bill Lawrence L500L bridge pickup also important ingredient ;-)
i have not played through one yet, with my bareknuckle 8 string. i like what i am hearing on your end, even the speakers and sm57 mic. i was also looking into Science amps, the hellhawk, decolonizer, mother, street sweeper, and earthling
How does the Granophyre stack up against your VHTS? I have wanted to know this for a minute. If both have been good enough for Mick Thomson, then they are the shit for me!
Sweet! I'm glad to see someone else doesn't have anything else to do on a Sunday 😁🤘 don't read that wrong what I mean is thanks for giving me something to watch.
I have the same shirt! I got it in 1999 at my second ever hardcore show. There were like 10 kids and I threw my first spin kick in the pit. (I was a pro, though. I got a black belt in karate a few years before.)
I never regretted swapping that DV-77 speaker into my Marshall JCM800 4010 combo, just a new amp! Love that Omega set up, I personally would just have done all four speakers as the DV-77, but that's just me lol
Hey Kyle , you and James Hetfield should get together and have a guitar riff dual back and forth. I think you would come out on top. Your right hand is incredible 🤣. That amp is kick ass 👍 nice demo.
The tone reminds me of coheed and Cambria. Your playing of course is nothing like them. But i hear there tone when u had it on your favorite setting. Excellent tone from that rig for sure. Sounds like a 5150 and a mesa dual rectifier had a baby. A metal a.f. baby lol
Hey Kyle, please do a review about more low gain settings of the Granophyre. I‘m totally convinced by the high gain quality but I want to rate the complete range for myself before buying it. I know there are already some videos about the Granophyre done by you but hey….we‘re gearlovers 🤷🏻♀️
Could you make a video comparing the omega cab to a v30 loaded Mesa? I have a mesa with 2 v30s and 2 DV77s but would love to hear how the omega cab compares to the industry standard Mesa oversized cab. Great video brother 👍
I honestly don't get it. It sounds stiff and dry like a VHT Pittbull. I think a 5150 or a boosted rectifier destroy it. Although I did hear some get an icredable tone using the neural plugin and that chainsaw plugin pack. But I am glad you seem to be happy haha
the Granophyre is the king of high-gain. You REALLY have to play one to "get it" IMO - if you watch Kyle's face/reaction(s) as he plays the amp not only during the intro song but also during the video itself, you'll see what I mean. He's smiling and shaking his head because this amp simply sounds and moreover, FEELS so AMAZING... it literally brings a huge joker-style smile to your face.... hahahaha. My opinion is from first-hand experience when I had the amazing fortune to borrow my best friend's Granophyre for a few evenings and play with it in my environment with my guitars, boosts, cab, etc... It's just on the VERGE of out of control, but never goes over and stays sounding INSANE. 😉😉😎😎
@Steve Willner all about perspective really, as it always is with amps of this nature. There is "how it sounds when I'm alone and I play it solely for my enjoyment" and then "how it is when paired with a full band (mix)". Poth are valid points to a certain degree; for sure!
Nice job on the speaker compare my dude, I was hoping you would do this a little more between boosts when you change them up on amp reviews. The quick side by side compare.
If it sounds that good in RU-vid, I can imagine how good in reality is. The video was too small for such a beast!!!! (Shame on you😎). I'm waiting mine with KT 66.
What kind of guitar is that? How versatile is the Granophyre? I love the tones but I don't just want metal tones. I want clean and crunch tones as well. I recall Mick Thomson used to use a Rivera and he made sure the amp had three channels that could also do clean, blues and crunch. Can the Omega do that? Love that speaker mix. I have it in my Bogner 412.
Both have a big upper mid presence, but not in a spikey way. The Granophyre is more saturated, but still raw. The Revv has a very unique low end and midrange signature that you won't find anywhere else. Both can do the same things and are really slightly different flavors built for the same purpose
@@belligerentamateur I wonder how the REVV would sound in the Omega Cab (with the Omega Speakers). Since the Omega speakers & cab seem also very unique.
I think I got spoiled with your videos because I tried to watch a demo of the 5150 combo and those guys would not shut up and play, they talked for maybe five minutes before even touching the amp and I couldn't finish watching it because it was droning on and on 😑.
@@bofuscrapshaw agree, I couldn't find a new or used one to try. Also curious about the obsidian, but you have to get on a waiting list just to order one(who knows how long?) Then add build time??
