Just before I went into labor i had a little attempt to try and explain to my bird that a baby was coming. He often would ask “what’s that?” And loves to give kisses. They are such smart creatures. Thanks for watching.

That’s so lovely. They ate beautiful birds. It was very sad also because he was happy and healthy. 12 years old but a rat got into his cage and attacked his neck during the night. I miss him a lot 😢
It takes time but don't worry you will remember only the positives of you pet and be happy.....At 64 I have lost three of them but I keep getting new ones and each has his own personality. I still remember all of them and it always keeps me happy.
@@cassandrapanda9101 - It was such a tragedy! A while ago, I watched some videos on the channel called something like «A Chick Called Albert», and he had rats invade one of his cages, killing birds (I think it was chicken or Quails, not entirely sure)! I never heard of this before Kiwi… I think it started there by one of his birds simply disappearing(!) Then one got hurt. I think he put up cameras to see. He had a lot of trouble getting the buggers. He finally trapped them all in a homemade trap. All the rats he trapped where then put out in a place that would be a good natural habitat for them (not killed). He then ended out having to lay down netting, then put down concrete flooring (can’t remember if it was slabs or only concrete) in the cage, making it 100% rat secure from then on. The rats are so good at digging and only need a super tiny hole to get in… I didn’t know before that they were so dangerous though, that they can kill birds bigger than themselves… Horrible! 😢 Keep on Resting in Peace little beautiful Kiwi❣️ Gone but not forgotten❣️ ❤❤❤
@@cassandrapanda9101 yeah birds are intelligent but sadly I am not ! Don't know what kind of parrot they were. But I was able to feed 2-3 and they were ok with my presence. Usually birds avoids my presence and whenever I try to feed them , they eat that, but only when I steps away from the venue.
Oh that’s a shame. Do you use treats? I used treats if I wanted to teach him a new word but some he would mimic on his own from listening to us. Is he on his own or with other birds? Is he kept inside or outside? Did you have him from a baby?
That’s very normal for his age. Make sure his cage is somewhere that he can sleep with no lights or sound from 7-8pm. I noticed a huge difference to Kiwi’s screaming when someone gave me that advice. Also just keep giving him treats and when he screams stop the treats. He will learn quickly. At 1.5 he is like a teenager. Let me know how you go 😊🙏🏽
Give him some time. Try to speak some words repeatedly. What I did with my Alex is I said "Mommy" to him constantly. He then learnt to mimic the word "Mommy". So every time he screamed, I would walk away or ignore him, and every time he said "Mommy", I would pick him up or give him a treat. He then stopped screaming and says "Mommy" instead whenever he wants attention. Worked like a bomb.

Thank you. Yes, very sadly he was killed by a rat a few years ago. It was very sad because I had him from when he was just 3 weeks old. I will dig up some old video of him to share. He loved drinking tea lol. Thanks for asking 🦜

He is probably having his first shed. They do this every year and then knew feathers grow. It was scary the first time as I thought something was wrong. His colors will start showing more. It makes a big mess though
They don’t grow really long tail feathers until maturity from memory. Is your bird stressed? Is his cage in a quiet area? It’s probably just his age. 11 months is still very young
