Love this story. It's very special to see young athletes with strong determination and more importantly, a strong faith in the Lord. Makes me happy to see God working through people with big dreams. Wish you the best in the future!
You always gotta respect those D1 athletes that go to ivy league schools. They're prioritizing academics as a student athlete, emphasis on student, not being an athlete student like Bama and Clemson athletes
I venerate how your older brother created that drive in you to be a better football player, person and adamant towards reaching your goals. This story touched me because I strive to be like that to my younger brother 🤝🖤
Watching this as a young buck coach trying to help his small city push the talented kids outward into the next level. This video did more than anyone will give credit to. To show the kids I work with and coach a prime example of the balance between academics and athletics. Congrats on Cornell man! I hope some of the kids I coach will be your teammates.
Great work again man. You are killing it with these videos. Would've been cool to see you on the basketball court, but looks like you made the right choice. Also important lesson for kids to play multiple sports, and not focus on one as you never know how things will turn out. Keep up the great work, and best of luck this season!
This video is amazing man, I’m going into my junior year and I’m trying so hard to improve my speed and strength to play safety next year and I’m nervous I won’t be able to step up to the challenge. This video is exceptional!
I stumbled across your video and was totally impressed with your story and presentation. I had to share this video with my son who has just started the football college recruitment process. I hope he will be inspired with your story.
Great video Kolby, you did a great job as the narrator. Your video is inspirational yet it is a reality check for high schoolers who are considering playing at the next level.( I thought your explanations how things change over time gave valuable insight yet you provided examples of adapting) Hope this Covid 19 clears up so I can see you play for the BIG RED this fall. Keep up the good work! Sincerely, Coach Munn 37 seasons 108 HS Teams: Football, Basketball and Track & Field(Shot/Discus)
Great video man. It's great how you took advantage of the Ivy League opportunity. You're definitely making your parents proud. Stay hungry and humble. God bless!
Sensational. Excellent story. Although I don't know you, I feel a sense of connection. May God continue to bless your journey and and to Him be the glory!

truly inspirational story dawg. i’m gonna be a junior next year and i’ve been considering joining the team, but i’ve never played before and i’m nervous and still undecided
Thanks for the support! & my best advice is to just do it. Its an experience you will remember in your life forever. Bonds will be made that will last lifetimes. Nothing to be afraid of !
Hey my name is Tim im about to start football soon but you know that corona is out but anyway you really inspired me like you taught me to dont give up in the tuff times. My dream is to become a WR or RB and be All American and make it to the NFL , right now im in 7th grade all my life people told me you cant do this or your not good enough and I want to put a silence to that noise by pushing my self even past my limits. Thank you so much you inspired me so much and maybe one day my dream might come true.

I go to signal but switching to Baylor for athletics, education, and also more opportunities. So it’s inspiring that someone from the same city worked hard to get a scholarship from a D1 school.
My best friend brother played football Cornell. He played center. He is now an architect in his hometown of Columbus Ohio. Stay Dangerous young soldier and keep God First
You gave some very important information about the games and your intentions for your life. I am very proud of you .Keep your head up reach for the stars. And as always put God first.love you auntie diane ❤👍🏈🏈🏈
Bruh imma vent I’m sorry but we are to similar who took different paths at about the same time. I respect your story, keep grinding and motivating. You remind me of myself so much it’s crazy, I’m just a bit older and if I’m right you probably going read this because we like to analyze things. I started off as a baseball player too and then picked up basketball and football which honestly is crazy for somebody like us and I’m sure you probably know it. My thing is I realized about 8th grade that I wasn’t tall enough to keep playing basketball so I just played baseball and football. We both are 5’9 and just like you I didn’t start off my sophomore year playing football but was around the team like I played. Probably just like me you may have thought you wasn’t ready for Varsity football in reality it was perfect for you and you knew you could help the team. My thing is once I went out to see if I could play football my sophomore year the coach didn’t ask the players which most knew I could play he told a friend and I that they didn’t need anymore running backs and cornerbacks which stunned me. This is when I should’ve known to transfer and get up outta there but it was my neighborhood school and financially we wasn’t set so I stayed. Mind you this is probably one of the worst high schools football teams in the city, they did win 4 city basketball championships in a row but not many recruits coming out of the school. This is when things go wrong for me So I played my junior year and senior year but with it being one of the worst schools in the city the Head coach didn’t care as much as my old coaches and I think it trickled down to me which is my fault. It might sound crazy but I was the fastest kid up until 9th grade junior high school. My thing is my whole high school years I probably worked out three times and never ran a 40 yard dash. How can you play running back and cornerback but never run a 40 just crazy. We never recorded our games and had a film session to help us improve so you could imagine the stuff I missed out on. I remember a coach telling me I had a college coach looking at me but with my head coach not really helping I let that slip. Then not having a father figure or someone who been through something similar I didn’t know what to look for or how to apply my skills. This was kind of my fault because I should’ve left the school but I didn’t really know better. I didn’t really find out about what a highlight tape was until my senior year but it was to late because the season was just about over. I was also working from 9th grade which took away from a lot I couldn’t work out on the weekends my team didn’t but I knew I could get stronger and better but I had to work every weekend. I know you a good teacher and listener so if you ask me I would tell a kid not to work or find a job that really works with you if not find a different way. I was making a little money to help out me and my fam which I thought I was cool but in reality I was stuck in a place I shouldn’t be relying on that job. I think I would’ve been better struggling for a little bit more to have a better opportunity to get a college scholarship or just finish college. My bad for the book but I wanted to give you a background story on me and if youtube was as big as it is now and I seen your videos it would have definitely impacted me in a good way. I say all this to say keep grinding, motivating and giving a good blueprint. I’m sure you helped a few and willing to help more. Keep replying to comments because some kids don’t have no one to help them out with stuff like this and don’t know what to look for. Don’t forget about us and the youth when you get big. Keep grinding my bad for the book again lol.
I Kind of had the same story but I was hurt which made me change sports. Freshman year I was the QB on JV but I fractured my lower back the first game, sophomore year I only played defense(OLB) I averaged 10 tackles a game. I was all county and 1 selection off All-State, junior year I transferred schools I was playing Both sides of the ball and the 3rd game I torn my meniscus, and senior year year I only played RB, I’m 6,5 so I was basically unstoppable but the 5th game I torn a thumb ligament that pull my thumb off my hand. I lost the 2 football scholarships I had so I decided to play basketball again I got all county, all league, Top 100 NY player in basketball so I decided to go Juco, I made the team the first year of college and then the second year I got cut cause I was “too small”. I decided to play football game I reached out to 2 college coaches at Wagner College and Long Island University and now I have 2 opportunities to play college football ✅ Football always been my calling and it feels great being back 💪🏾
good stuff man you’re my inspiration, I live in a small town port chester New York, I work as hard as I can, I’m a freshman 5’10 150Ibs finished my jv season with 21 touchdowns, as like you playing football basketball and baseball. It’s like you’re an older me but you’re more successful, I’m scared of what the future holds because big schools won’t even look at small towns like port chester, if you could reach out to some coaches, that’d mean the world to me and my family. I have a Hudl account @Colin Taylor keep up the good work man 🙏🏾blessings. Stay safe
You have to let them know you're hungry man and you can show the.m colleges that you have something. Going to a small college might also be an option D-2 and D-3 schools are often still worth attending. Don't give up in yourself.
Yeah bro, it will probably be best if you get with your coaches and reach out to colleges that way. They are going to want to hear from you , especially if they are recruiting you !

What more impressive is that you’re in a Ivy League school! How many ppl can say they go to an Ivy League school? That’s more impressive than any D1 offer. Great job. Football is gonna give you a top education ppl could only dream of
King Kolby on the real side do you have any tips I play safety and running back but not starting running back you got any tips for workouts or just anything in genral
i just learned how to gain massive weight and muscle by watching strongmen and bodybuilders. Plan ahead when you work out and when you eat, i eat every two hours with meals at least 500 to 700 calories breakfast 7 o'clock snack or regular meal 10 o'clock lunch 12 o'clock workout 1 o'clock to 2 o'clock recovery drink or supplements and dinner at 4. all these meals need to be at least 700 calories. b4 my workout i would drink whey protein powder or after i would drink milk. dont stuff milk into your body every once and a while because it isn't good for your insides as you might pass gas. try to lay down and be as steal as possible because if you dont you are burning what you just ate especially if you have high metabolism. i was 147 to 155 during wrestling season playing defensive end in football but i was strong fast and built. now i am 175 planning to hit 180 this started back in February or march ever since this corona stuff. Please take my advice
Don’t know how you popped up on my RU-vid, but I’m definitely subscribing now. Man you made some inspiring and truly wise decisions at such a young age. And good choice with Cornell!
So right about now I’m 6’1”, 190lbs, and I’m 15, I play varsity and I get quite a few tackles on special teams, (I just got varsity special teams this year), and I stand out more than my teammates. I’m just wanting to know the dead truth of what colleges look at, and what are my chances of getting into each division. I don’t have any problem putting on weight either. And in school I have a 3.5 gpa, and I’m one of the strongest kids in the school.
College football programs are attracted to size and speed! Having either one gives you an advantage. Keep your GPA high and continue to get stronger in the weight room. Since u have the size, the best thing to do is probably get your technique and skills down to a T
It was all weighted based on your GPA to ACT/SAT score. So it really depends, there is like 4 diff categories and if you have a high GPA with a medium score it could balance out or vice versa.
Yeah, it will help dramatically. And study nfl players that are closer to your size and potential. (For example: i study brent grimes instead of jalen ramsey)
Question: first off, I want to apologize for seeing this video so late. I just recently found your channel and have fallen in love! I want to ask, I know this is not in your expertise, but I play soccer, and want to play in college. Would you recommend that I get a personal trainer?
Never understood why Middle School team never pass the ball and the ones that did won the Championships my team was good but it was really centered around one person and that's why we lost the team that won the championship in the Conference Finals

Gabriel Rivas I already accepted Jesus as my savior, and repented of my sins. I’m am active in my church, I know my purpose is to know God and to make him known...
I’m a sophomore in high school and do to COVID restrictions, I can’t join. I really love football and I’m very athletic, I really do not know what my options are, if sports are open during junior year I’m going to join, but as of now I guess I’ll look for camps or something or maybe teams outside of high school. Any tips?
What were your test scores to get into Cornell? I am junior right now and getting a couple fcs and Ivy League looks and I really like what Ivy League provides from the educational and football standpoint, I’m just nervous I don’t meet the scores.
I’m a rising sophomore and I really want to make the varsity team this year instead of jv and my build is similar to how yours used to be I’m 5’10 158 u have any advice or tips I could use?
I am a freshman going into my sophomore year and right nowI have a 3.5 GPA I weight in at 115 and hight is 5,3 and i am quick and fast I played some varsity snaps at corner and reciver and I was starting on JV I just wanna know do you have to contact collage coches or do they come to you and what is your advice on gaining weight Thankyou
Sometimes they come to you first and when they are not, then you have to take it in your hands to contact them first. Im going to make a vid on gaining weight soon! Stay tuned
Focus on being the best on your high school team first. Once you do that, get with your coach and figure out what colleges are interested. Lastly, go to camps and unofficial visits to schools which are INTERESTED in you. A lot of people miss this step by going to Alabama camps or Georgia camps. If those schools are not Interested, its pointless to go.
