My dad almost DIED onboard a CARNIVAL CRUISE EXCURSION in Cabo San Lucas + what happened | vlog #33 

We are going in 6 weeks, and I have looked at this excursion. I wasn't planning to book it, but now I definitely won't. So glad you and your Dad are OK! Scary. The ocean is so dangerous.

Very scary and deadly even as you and your dad are experienced swimmers. I believe God was there looking out for you both. Happy to hear you both made it to the boat safely. Overall looks like a great excursion. Here's my experience... some people, like myself, don't realize the pressure on the chest when you're in the water. Last August I swam to a sandbar with a full belly and a life vest. I had so much pressure that I could hardly take a deep breath. Then I started to become anxious and I was in the middle of the shore and the sandbar no one can immediately help me. So I closed my eyes and floated on my back to swim backwards. It helped with the fatigue and the anxiety until I got there while my sister was reassuring me as I swam.. Note to self: Don't swim with a full belly! I'm a poor swimmer so I wore a vest and so glad I did. The distance didn't look far but it felt like it did. Also what I learned coming back was not to fight the current and swim in an angle. It was a lot easier coming back as I swam backwards again. The water was also very calm so if I drowned there it would be such a shame out of all places.

I respect the ocean. It’s fun and all but I only put my feet in. Sorry this happened to you. But I don’t think those excursions are properly ran. Those companies don’t provide how often the equipment is inspected and the training the tour guides have. Glad y’all okay.
