For the third story, highkey possessive gf, I actually disagree with giving in personally... It seems almost as if the relationship dynamic out of this situation is the girl pushing her ideals over the guy. Then there's a relationship unbalance. I really think the guy should set stronger values in what he can give in, and what he can't. Personally, in relationships, I already find it hard if I was asked to leave my friends for no reason, let alone cut away from family. I do agree some people are non-confrontational type so seeking external help is great advice. At the end of the day, if you are in a relationship with someone, don't you want them to grow to be a better person as well, rather than enabling her to continue snowballing her toxic behaviour.

Really relate to the second confession. It is true that not all parents give unconditional love to their children. It takes a long time to slowly heal from all these especially when you don’t have any form of support.

for the 2nd confession, i think the most important thing is whether the dad was a loving father before the mum passed away. if he was, then whatever he is doing now is his coping mechanism of losing his wife and honestly, he needs therapy. he needs therapy about all these so that he realises it and it will get btr. but if he isn’t then he is really toxic in doing so esp with the step-mum.

The advice they gave for Confession #1 was awesome! I love the advice and a lot of people should really learn from what to do if these kind of situations do happen in your life

Hi everyone, I would like to thank for those courageous individuals for sharing their story and experiences and also for Bolin and Brenda for sharing their views and experiences, every person experience is personal and I wonder for each individual to explore what’s your personal boundaries and view point and how you will act on those experiences, I wonder if it is worth asking yourself how you feel? What is your reaction to the situation and how will you handle the situation from your own perspective? Thanks for such an insightful episode but it’s worth asking those questions for your own well-being all the best

I feel you can be a more balanced advice, because there seems a tendency to side with the confessor For example, the second story, yes the Dad is no saint, but the confessor objected the re-marriage based on his/her own feelings. There should be consideration for the Dad's emotional state of losing his wife. And for the last story of the Dad stopping the daughter going over to the boyfriend's house. Instead of outright saying the Dad is wrong, shouldn't there be consideration of that maybe the daughter needing to earn a little more trust, instead of just telling the Dad to let go? It takes both hands to clap and solution is mostly always somewhere in the middle

Dear Lynette, Patience with your dad is your test. I can't say what is right or wrong or good or bad. however it is just how trust is being made. I remember meeting a Lynette at one time, hanging out with Lyn's dad till he let me stay over. on top of that he passed me condoms the moment he opened the door saying if I need to use them its there. Just like what Bolin said need some man to man time together and trust that bond helps your r/s with your dad. PS: not sure if uncle remembers or even if he reads this. one of the cool dads I have met.

For the first one, I wonder what the writer want her mother to react? it’s really painful, but to me, is hiding this matter better? Telling her will hurt her, why bring this pain to your beloved mum? yes, we know, your father is being unfaithful here. But by telling her, do you want to see pain in your mother? Quarrels, divorce, family splitting, financial burden to your mum? they’ve past the silver age, it’s their retirement soon. To me, I will not tell my mum FIRST, at most, with my brother and keeps questioning your dad for his faithfulness, of course 说的容易做的难 I also don’t have this gut too, all in all, still better seeing your mother suffer in silence.

Her mum as the spouse has the right to know, and decide what to do thereafter. Her daughter should not be complicit in the cover up.

First confession, I think it’s better for the daughter to be not too involve in this parent affair. All you have to do now is accompany and spend more time with your mom, lastly respect her decision for whatever she do.

For the Girl that wants to be at BF house whenever she want underlining message from the Dad is dont be sleeping around. Agree with Brenda that girls should learn to be independant. Perhaps the girl should be independant first > Move out > Feed herself >own her own life before thinking she can afford the mistakes. For those should bible have any value Deuteronomy 22:20 does say that being promiscuous while still in her father’s house is indeed an outrageous thing.
