Beautiful cut!! You look soo pretty and your make-up is to die for!! You are giving me Diana/ Tracey Ellis-Ross vibes at the end with those big beautiful eyes.
My wash and go's used to only last a day, two if lucky because I wasn't moisturizing enough or using enough conditioner but putting too much oil. Now that I've changed that- co wash or clarify shampoo with product buildup, only use a maximum of two products and no gel for styling + diffuse, my wash and go's last 7-9 days. My hair is past my back bra strap naturally and touches my butt when straightened so I don't think your hair being too long was the issue
Hi! Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I live in NY and have been contemplating getting a deva cut. I was skeptical and wondered if I needed to go somewhere in BK lol. Your experience here seemed like it was a good one and your hair looks great! I will check out her IG lol thank you!! 😊
WOW! Your hair cut/shape is 💣!! It looks very good on you. Do you think you'll continue to use the Deva Curl products? What products did you use in the first pic where you said you styled it yourself after the cut?
Erika Lee thank you !! I’ve been trying so many different products lately , I do like the deva curl super cream but it’s not my absolute fave. I want to continue using the no poo and one condition. So far I’ve been using the b’leave in consistently with my own products and I love it. In the very first pic I used Jane Carter Curls to go the leave in and the cream and then I put bounce curl gel on top .
I had my done by Melanie just over a month ago. Do you feel like you’re having trouble replicating the exact look of your hair the day it was cut? I do. I mean I like the shake but I want it to grow back so I can do more styles
Fine Natural Hair and Faith really ??! Well whenever I do my own hair it never comes out like how it was done at the salon and that could be because of the way it’s styled /equipment used . But I honestly prefer how my hair looked after styling it myself with my cut . Did Melanie cut curl by curl ? I’ve seen videos of other deva stylist and not all of them do that some take sections of hair and just cut .
Bri Bbyy she cut section by section with groups of curls first and then curl by curl after. I loved how it looked the day she did it. When I do it, it still looks good but nit that sane waterfall type look with the top height I like
Fine Natural Hair and Faith that can be frustrating I’m not exactly sure what might help , maybe add clips at the top for more volume and blow dry your roots . What do you usually do ?
I was about to say I like your hair better before she cut it, but then you showed the before and after. Next time I'll wait to the end of the video or your out of the chair before I Comment. She did a great job you look beautiful, lesson learned.
Thank you ! So I paid $130 after tax for the cut and style, however the prices are different depending on what stylist you choose and their level of experience . Nevila is a senior stylist so the price started at $125 for her .
Jennifer Smith thank you so much ! And def have your hair styled in a wash n go when you go to your appointment. They have to see what your true curl pattern is in order to cut it correctly. I always think for type 4 hair especially it’s best to apply your leave in and/or moisturizing cream to your hair in sections while in the shower with soaking wet hair. This helps you achieve max definition and hold without frizz. Next apply a gel or skip that step since your hair will be washed at your appointment it’s up to you. Gel just helps to add more hold and prolong the style . Take this two weeks to practice and experiment , that’s what it takes to find a wash n go regimen that works for you ! I have some wash n go videos on my channel as well I hope this was helpful ❤️❤️
Bri Bbyy Okay, I thought you meant because of the shape it was in and you needed it cut into a shape for them to hold. That makes more sense. lol It looks good.
hi! i have a question- what kind of protective styles can white girls wear without being considered offensive? i have naturally 3B hair yet it’s completely damaged due to bleach and i’m honestly probably not taking the best care of it. if you or anyone could help me out that would be great! loved the video❤️ - it’s also basically impossible for me to wear it down due to heat damage and bleach.. it looks gross
Hey love! I appreciate your concern/interest in wanting to remain non offensive and acknowledging that💗 maybe try adding hair extensions , or do two dutch braids . You may even want to try wearing different styled wigs if you feel comfortable , thats an easy way to give your hair a break
I didn’t have a hair cut/style when I came to the salon . I had cut my own hair for months while transitioning from my heat damage . This salon visit was the first professional cut I had done with my hair curly. The stylist just defined my shape more so that it would have more volume and added layers . Also the stylist I went to is Nevila 😊
Hey, I wondered if someone could help me, I have thick hair density despite I have lost lots of it because of health reasons and my hair is really long and frizzy, and I noticed that I have medium-long hair strands near my forehead which are curly and defined, kinda like 3b hair, but the rest of my hair is a weird 2b-2c-3a hair. I asked around and they told me that because my hair is really damaged due to chemicals and heat, and since it's also really long, the consequence is that it is really heavy and weighed-down and so it won't curl properly, and so they gave me the advice of cutting my hair short and with layeres and they also told me I should use the right profucts and stuff. Does anyone have any advice for this? Will my hair be 3b or even curlier if I cut it? Before cutting It I wanted to make sure that my hair would come back being thick as it was before, and so I'm using Jamaican Black Castor Oil for this purpose. Do you think I have any chance? What do you reccomend doing?
Some people can get away with not having to cut their hair completely off after terrible heat damage, like I had terrible heat damage and I have 3b/3c/4a hair and I didn’t cut it off or do a short hair style. Tbh I just cut down the amount of straightening and it reverted back after a couple years but I think I just got lucky tbh. But u might want to try cutting out the damage so the curl hair can grow healthy so depending on the length of the damage you might have a shirt hairstyle. Or u can shave it all off if u ain’t seeing no improvements after a couple months. But when u cut the damage out u MUST deep condition moisture makes healthy hair, PROTEIN TREATMENTS ARE KEY, buy Aztec clay it defines curls so use that once every 2/3 weeks to help make your hair curl and for your hair to learn to curl up and to see if your hair is curling again. Also make sure u are moisturising everyday with a leave in conditioner and a protein moisturiser for growth and health :)
Your hair can only change texture when it is shaved off, if u cut it it will stay the same curl pattern 3b I think u sed ur hair was so it will grow that way because u ain’t shaved off the roots. I would personally just cut the damage out always best tbh. Hope I helped :)
