Thoughts on Caesar's Palace? Would you stay here?

Hi Ruby. We're going in February and was planning to stay at Caesar's. Now, not so sure. I'd still like to though. I hear the Augustus Tower is the best.

Never again. We stayed there in April. Booked a king room in the Forum. They kindly upgraded us to a suite (2,000+sf). Two levels, incredible view, two master suites. Definitely needed remodeling. Shower leaked constantly. The freakiest thing is the SAME guy came into our suite twice! Didn’t go to the suite that was dark and unused but to the one we were using. The hubs was in the shower. I asked the guy what he was doing. He hesitated a bit and said they gave him the room. The dude had shorts, white tank, and a small duffel bag. I yelled for the hubs and the guy took off. Called the front desk and they said that our suite was registered in my name and there is no way it would have been reassigned. It was freaky. We could not wait to check out. And will never go back. Love your vids Ruby! We watched all of them before coming to Vegas! And still watch them. Thank you for all the helpful info!!

I stayed in 3 different rooms/suites in about a year. The suites were nice but with awful views. The one king room had a great view and the room was ok. There was one time I was there and the there was a bad smell. I agree the property is huge and so much fun. I do not think the dining is as good as the Venetian/Palazzo (Delmonico is probably one of my favorite restaurants on Earth). I went to Hell's Kitchen because of the people I was there with, and I did not understand the huge appeal. Mr. Chow was amazing. Sushi Roku is also nice if you get the strip view.

Nope not worth it. I stay mainly at the Wynn or Venetian. I'll do an MGM property if the comps are good and also Treasure Island/El Cortez when they offer good comps because that's where I play. But Ceasar's nope. Won't stay there or play there. It never feels like good value.

I agree with your comments 💯 We used to stay exclusively at CET properties and were almost always happy. It seems like most of their hotels have gone downhill since the pandemic. The two times we stayed at Caesars, we were in the Augustus Laurel Collection rooms and there were many issues with the light dimmer switches covered in grime and the exterior shell of the bathtub caved in along with a lot of visible general wear and tear (as you documented). I gave up and switched entirely to MLife properties as the value just isn’t there anymore.

Caesar's choice to charge extra for the pool after already charging resort fees is a good example of what is taking place nowadays across the country: the creation of a class system to glorify those who want to be seen as super rich. The result is that the rest of us who thought we already paid good money feel like peasants in an overcrowded pool. Not a good business model, imho.

You seem like a hater Karen. Lol That's not even comparable to what's happening in Vegas. Skip-the-line passes have been available at amusement parks for decades now. I'm a passholder/member at a few theme park chains and a certain amount of skip-the-line pass are included in the membership for each visit. I suppose you'd be one of those who'd whine because those people have memberships and you and your family didn't. Btw, I'm not rich by any means, but I also know Disney parks are EXPENSIVE! You're whining about the expense of a flash pass comparing it to a class issue. How about the average person can't afford a Disneyland vacation for there family in the first place? Disneyland is priced for the wealthy or those who saved for years to be able to go. You're trippin on class over a flash pass but Disney theme parks have always been about attracting a certain class of people by charging expensive admission prices. Give me a break.

Wow- before this video I always thought Caesar’s Palace was one of the highest, most upscale of the Vegas casinos. For the prices you pay there’s no reason for the rooms to be in such disrepair, a sewage smell in the hallway, or not to be able to use all the pools. What a rip off.

Caesar's has been overrated for a while, in my opinion. Customer service has declined markedly now that I feel Caesar's Entertainment is low-key in the midst of a phased withdrawal from Vegas beginning with an imminent Flamingo sale. Wynn/Encore is definitely the cream of the crop for quality and value (what you pay versus what you get) if you can afford it, with SAHARA probably the nicest fairly luxurious budget option.

I went to the Grand Opening of the Venetian and instantly knew that hotel would be my new home in Las Vegas. One of the things I loved about Caesars in its early years was Cafe Roma. Before that, the Noshorium. The food was incredible and both restaurants were open 24/7. Now there is no 24/7 restaurant at Caesars. Imagine, a resort that is known globally with no place to go eat a meal after a night of gambling. Caesars thinks they are saving money? They have run-off the clientele who made them famous. I love the Grand Lux Cafes in both the Venetian and the Palazzo. Whatever you order will be as good as it was served when they opened in 2000.

From someone who used to go to Caesars in the 70's, the amount of nickel and diming is too much for me to withstand. It used to be high-end, but you weren't restricted. Caesars properties in Vegas, and everywhere, have gone down shockingly fast in the past 2 - 3 years. I usually stay at Paris, another Caesars owned property. Each time we've been there since 2019 and it has declined more and more, from the condition of the casino, the rooms, and the (almost nonexistent) service. The problem is, the Eldorado people that took over the Caesars brand don't give a sh*t whatsoever. I see a big fire sale coming in Caesars future. Sad. The properties used to be so nice.

Very refreshing to be fan of yours and to find you are even more lovely and personable in person! Thank you for being so kind and chatting for a bit. Our room was beat as well; what's up with the shredded headboards?! They need to spend some $$ and update the rooms. Caesars is ridiculous with their pools. Best pool complex in Vegas, so many pools, but only 1 where you don't have to reserve or pay for seating. And don't even bother doing the night swim! The water was filthy and disgusting; we were so creeped out we left soon after arriving. Thank Goodness they opened the pool door that is close to the Octavius Tower; last year they made you hike ALL the way over to the door by the Palace Tower to get into the pools. I've been to Vegas many times on business and stayed at a number of hotels on the strip, and Caesars is my least favorite. It's too spread out so the walking is daunting, the rooms are beat, and everything is super expensive there. Also they are known for having tight slots. So glad you did an honest review; they can't keep resting on their old laurels. Why did they spend money renovating the lobby? Who cares?! Fix up the darn rooms, Caesars! I'll take the Cosmopolitan any day over Caesars. Love ya, Ruby! Can't wait for more reviews!

I just got married at the Caesar’s Palace this month and let me tell you… -it smells like sewer in certain parts -the hotel is very confusing (feels like a maze) -check in/check out takes FOREVER -the gambling is expensive -I was supposed to get a hotel room in the same tower as the chapel but instead got booked for a room in the farthest tower -the bell hop dropped my cake box that my dad made for me and broke the contents inside of it but instead of letting me know they threw the broken stuff in another box. I didn’t realize this till I got home. -the wedding was nice but don’t expect them to be on it. Everything they do is very last minute regardless of the amount of money you’re paying. -some rooms are hit or miss depending on what tower you’re in -their WiFi/service sucks -some pools are hot and some are freezing -you can’t really use your mini fridge at all or you’ll be charged a fee The rooms are really nice and spacious so if you’re concerned about that then I would definitely stay there. But if you don’t plan to be in your room too often I’d recommend the linq instead There are some great qualities about Caesar’s but some misses as well

I just came home today from Caesars Palace and stayed in this same room (6179 Octavius). I was "Upgraded" to this and was told this was the best I could get without paying $150+ a night. (Surprising because I am Diamond Elite and on Track for 7S) We had the exact same issues. The smell in the hall was horrendous and the room was outdated and beat up. Our main door had a huge crack in it and was falling apart, our sinks and showers took hours to drain, (We were standing in 2-3 inches of water while showering) Stains on the couch, rug and tile (Huge spill stain on Tile), lights and Window Sill were dusty. Although the bath is nice, it took close to an hour to fill up due to poor water pressure. Overall the best thing about the room was the Square Footage and View, but really disappointed as this was my first stay here and I have been wanting to stay here for years. Really makes me consider MGM, Wynn, Venetian for future Vegas Trips.

Your review was spot on, and you weren't being nitpicky about the upkeep of the room. I stayed at Ceasars in June with a large group of colleagues who were in Vegas for a conference, also held at Ceasars. We arrived early and were informed about the early check-in fee, but each person was quoted a different amount ($35, $45, $60), depending on which reception clerk they spoke to. (Paying the fee didn't result in any upgrades.) That made the early check-in fee feel like a scam. A few in our group checked in early; the rest waited until after 4:00 p.m. When trying to complete check-in after 4:00 p.m, the express kiosks malfunctioned, and the available clerk became snippy when asked basic questions. So the overall "welcome" to the hotel wasn't smooth or hospitable. I stayed in the Forum Tower. The room had a lot of scuffs, scratches, and signs of wear and tear --- not what you would expect from a luxury hotel. I would choose to stay somewhere else if I were planning my own trip to Vegas.

It’s not just Cesar’s. Other hotels are starting to charge for certain areas of the pool like MGM. There’s a middle island that the lazy river goes around that costs extra to sit there. Also discovered some restaurants are adding gratuity to the bills disguised as a fee to the bill. All these fees are getting out of hand.

Totally agree with Ruby's assessment of Caesars rooms. I stayed here in May in the Octavius Tower 2 x Queen room and thought it was really overpriced. Both headboards were ripped in several places with strips of the vinyl hanging off. Fixed shower head was so high you could walk underneath without getting wet. We ordered a mini refrigerator for the room which on arrival failed to work. The whole room felt tired and grubby. Checked out after 2 days and moved to the Wynn which for only a little extra cost was vastly superior.

Thank you again Ruby, for being totally honest in your review of highly overrated Caesars Palace. I walked out of Caesars four years ago, vowing to never return. Throwing money away for second class surroundings is unacceptable. You nailed it about the outrageous $10 pizza slice. Try going into a Caesars gift shop and have them ring up a small bottle of Gatorade for $6.95. That costs 70 cents in a store. I walked out and left it on the counter. There is an executive chef restaurant that sells the 'soup of the day' for $80 a bowl. They wait for the next table of suckers to walk in. I had been a regular customer since 1971. I was known by employees all over the hotel who are all class acts. I say enough of the pretense. One of the final straws was a pit boss who closed a roulette table after changing dealers on me every 10 minutes to stop my winning streak. That is when I handed the pit boss my players card and told him I would never return. I haven't.

Caesars properties in general have gone downhill with the latest ownership group. I still like the rooms at Planet Hollywood, the Miracle Miles shops and the casino at Paris, and that’s it. Cleanliness at Caesars in general is terrible, overflowing ashtrays at slot machines, sewer smells, low staffing/poor customer service, all very disappointing. I’m not saying MGM Resorts is perfect, but every time I’m at Bellagio or Park MGM, the rooms and casinos are clean and the workers I encounter are very nice.

Yep, spot on! I stayed there for the first time at the end of October. It started out bad- a two hour wait to get a room (including the 30 plus minutes I stood in line to use their digital check in.) The room was a total letdown. Every bit of wood furniture was noticeably dinged up, the lampshade looked like someone had taken it off and thrown it at some point. And… carpet stains. Ick. We also went to Gordon Ramsays pub and had an all-round terrible experience. I’m still shocked because I had gone a couple months earlier and had a GREAT experience. The casino is massive, which is pretty nice but the floor is pretty confusing to navigate. I won’t stay there again, even in a comped room. The only Caesar’s property I like STAYING in is Paris.

We were in Caesar's in June. Never going back. We booked the Julius suite and got the Octavius room instead. The mini bar meant we had no room for our own food or drinks. The loooong walk to the elevators stunk of garbage and restaurant food. Our room was exactly like hers including the worn our furniture and rugs. The food was expensive (e.g. $25 for a plate of waffles at the Americana Cafe). Giada's little bakery Pronto had overpriced everything. We went across the street to the LINQ for breakfasts as it was half the price of anywhere in Caesars.

I have been a Caesars Rewards Diamond member for many years, and am very loyal to them, since they comp me very well, but I was never a fan of Caesars Palace. It's a beautiful property, with a beautiful pool complex and the Forum Shops are very cool, but the property is just way too big. Depending on which Tower you stay in, your walk to your room from the Strip could take 20 minutes. Who needs that, especially in the hot months in Vegas? I prefer the smaller, cozier hotels that Caesars offers in Vegas, like Planet Hollywood, Paris, Cromwell, Flamingo or Harrah's. Just much easier to get around, you are on the Strip very quickly, and plenty of less expensive food options as well. Caesars Palace is lacking the cheaper food choices. That's just my opinion. I enjoy walking around there , just when I'm visiting the different casinos, and exploring the Strip, but to actually stay there for a week? Not convenient, and not practical at all

Wi-Fi was garbage, and they refused to refund resort fees until I argued with a manager and threatened to file a chargeback. Excellent review Ruby, the reality on the ground info about the pools is vital to vacationers when shopping around for hotels, the pool experience often makes or breaks the vacation. Yes, what Caesar's is doing is sleezy, puts a bad taste in everyone's mouth. Secondly, it really felt geared towards an older clientele. If we're paying those prices we want high end, modern and contemporary. As in... the whole top of it fell off! I had to call maintenance first thing I did when checking in. Room was in similar condition. You also didn't mention that Caesars charges a $100 per night incidentals charge! More than any other Caesars resort. Everything there costs more, and a lot of these are recent changes! I'm a video poker player, and this year they raised the minimums on all their machines to dollar denomination. You can't find a 25 or 50 cent denom poker machine... IF YOU CAN FIND VIDEO POKER AT ALL. I hated my casino experience there. (I also had a bad experience at that Gordon Ramsay Pub. They overcooked my prime rib. I don't go to any of his restaurants anymore.) I will say... as a Diamond member, I called and they brought a mini fridge to the room for free. They said it was free because I was Diamond. (Of course *most* hotels will deliver a free mini fridge if you say you have medication that needs refrigeration.) I will say the customer service at Caesars was excellent all around... but the rooms and the all around experience (and all that WALKING just to find your room) are not worth the excessive cost.

I had the same opinion about the Venetian when I stayed there not that long ago. The bathroom was amazing, the bed was really nice, but everything in the living room area felt warn out, particularly the couch. Because of the time of the year and the fact that we went during the week, the room was a little less than $200 after all of the taxes and fees, and we did not stay in the room that much, so we didn't mind the shabby sofa, but it would have been nice to have furniture that was placed in the room a little more recently than a decade ago.

I have stayed at many Caesars properties and it's pretty evident that they don't have any type of ongoing maintenance program. Everything looks like it's been through a war or they purchased it at the thrift store. I never want to be a top card holder there, because you are faced with properties that are run down. Compare that to the Wynn or the Palazzo and you'll see the difference. They have very strenuous ongoing maintenance programs and you would be hard pressed to find any of the same type of damage in their rooms. As an example, I stayed at Harrah's in Las Vegas and the valet had been shut down even though they told me valet was open. I stayed at the Southern California Harrahs recently and there was no hot water in the entire Tower. I had to check out and go to another hotel to take a shower, so I could go to work. I did not hear of Mr Rudy, and I miss that...

I paid for late check out at Mirage so I was packing up to head off to Caesar's when I received an Email from them asking my ETA I said 3pm and at 2:45 I got another one that said my room was ready. So I checked in at 3pm instead of 4pm. Well, they ended up charging me early check in which I never asked for and I didn't even notice until I was at the Airport. Oh well, that'll never happen again.

How much for the early check-in? What a horribly greedy thing to do. In a town that's full of greed, this is right up there. Best to review your bill immediately after check-out.

We stayed at Caesar’s in June in the Palace Tower - the room was immaculate but I think it had been recently renovated- also, the only pool that was closed was a really small one…

If you stay in Augustus, Palace or Nobu Towers the rooms are fantastic, the other towers are more hit and miss.

I'm absolutely shocked that you could pay $300 for a room like that and not be allowed to use the best pool. The only way I could see justifying that would be if bc

We used to visit Vegas often. But their resort fees are a joke! One of the reasons my family and I have chosen other weekend get away spots.

Of all the times I've been in Vegas never once have I stated Caesar's Palace. Beautiful but very overpriced. That pocharge was absolutely ridiculous, $300 for a daybed and you may only stay there a couple of hours perhaps no thanks! Love your videos Mrs Ruby thank you.

I used to stay at Caesars and get a Day Pass to Qua Spa with in and out privileges for $20 couple years ago. Now it is $80-&90 for only 3 hours. They are nickel diming without feeling like you are getting a bargain anymore.

Great vieo as always. I typically stay downtown or off strip. I'm going think about staying on the strip for my next trip. I've alway wanted to stay at the Luxor so I'll rewatch your review while I plan things out. I did also come across a place called the Thunderbird. I'll need to check if you've reviewed it.

2 small coffee, a muffin and a breakfast sandwich would cost about $9 at a Tim Horton's. $35 is ridiculous. Just goes to show never to eat inside the casino/resorts.

We just stayed at Peppermill in Reno and it was fantastic. We love the feel of the Tuscany tower but they have renovated rooms in the other tower if you want modern. There are rewards on My Vegas for up to two nights. Maybe you should give Reno a try!

We had a horrible experience with Ceasers Palace last year. They put us in the wrong room and cleared it the next day while we were having lunch. They put everything in trash bags and we had some items missing. It was clearly their fault and they never apologized for the missing items. NEVER AGAIN.

I always go to your vlogs/reviews for all things Vegas. Been to Caesars something like 5 times in past 18 months or so. I think you're spot on with the review. Where I would differ just a bit: First timers. Knowing that the room price point is "silly"...it's all about what CP will offer a first timer. The pool deal. We went in March and we were able to get spots by a pool area that wasn't an ice bucket. Yes, that main pool with the tower thingy is COLD. It sits in shade too much and the water is circulated through all the fountain sprays. So why do I disagree with you? Because if you want a "one-stop" location for strip location, sports, tables, slots, pools, food, shops (the greatest experience of high end shops), it's a great location for first timers that would get overwhelmed walking the strip trying to find those things elsewhere. Me? Been there and done it too many times. So I wonder if your experience is what mine is now? Ho-Hum, been there, and there's better value elsewhere. Yes Caesars is not a value proposition. But if you want to hit the best nightclub in Vegas and never have to leave the property to hit great pools, and all the other stuff...it's a one of a kind. Lastly, Paris is my choice for a great spot if you just want to be close to things, and you don't need massive pool options, and nightclubbing is now called grab a drink at 11pm and hit the bed. Stay and Play at Paris a few times, and then CP will make you offers to stay there at much better rates.

Back in 1975 my grandmother bought me a nice sweater for a special occasion. She was a seamstress at an upscale clothing store in Phoenix where our family lived. With her employee discount, the sweater cost about $25. Around 1 year later, on a trip to Vegas with friends; I saw the same sweater at a clothing shop at Caesar’s for $75. I even went inside the store to check the label. Same exact sweater.

we were there a few weeks ago and had a comped room exactly like yours. Same tower, same layout, same view. It was beautiful. I didn't notice a smell, my grandson loved the tub. The only complaint was the pool situation. It was very hot, and too many people at the pools that were open to everyone.

Hi Ruby, For a few months I have viewed many of your informative Vegas videos. The last time I stayed at Caesar's was 1982. However, we have just returned this April. The $20 trick did the trick, yet I am a loyal Caesar's customer in Atlantic City. Palace Tower suite was great. The pools were terrific. the fortuna and neptune were the warmest. Got sticker shock on drink prices, but hey, its Vegas. All in All we had a great time, Would like to comment on other activites we enjoyed.

Hey Ruby …totally agree …if I pay over $200 a night I don’t want stains and scrapes etc . The pool thing was outrageous . Yes they can have a separate pool for cabanas or daybeds but not the main pool. That being said I do like the property although I’m a Bellagio fan all the way and usually stay there. As for Gordon Ramsay not a fan of any of his restaurants. I hated the Pub. Service was rushed and rude, my food was cold and greasy . Never eat there again . Did not like Hells Kitchen either . Great video as always 😎😎😎

Do you give this feedback to the hotel upon checkout? The pool situation is totally ridiculous and would have been a sticking point for me that I would have felt compelled to complain about.
@sidthetech7623
@sidthetech7623 Год назад
Some places you try to complain, they hand you a $5 comp coupon, and tell you the property manager is away during the weekends. ... of all days, they get off on the weekends during their highest demand. They leave a "memo" for them to call you at your number, in which you will NEVER get a call back.

Stayed there two weeks ago. Flight arrived at 11am and decided to try to do an early check-in if our room was available. They charged me $55 bucks for the privilege of an early check in. Once the payment went through, I was not given my room, instead told that I would get a text message when our room was ready. After waiting for two hours, I was finally given my room at around 2pm. I felt robbed out of $55 and this was not the best way to start our vacation.
