We kept finding we needed a folding table. This is so easy to store. ru-vid.comUgkxStL0QRChBju4aQlnTrRgBZvafFog0KU3 Opening and closing is easy as well. It has a great handle for carrying around the house. Its pretty lightweight and slides around easy. We bought it for our daughter’s first sleepover. Breakfast was a blur - but 12 7-8 year olds fit at the table with room to spare. We used it at thanksgiving and 6 adults fit comfortably on each side plus 2 on either end for a total of 8. Super easy to clean up afterwards as well.

This is a pretty solid little workbench. While once you figure out how it comes together, it is physically Easy to assemble ru-vid.comUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh by yourself. But the diagrams explaining the steps are really pretty bad. I could not get the handle pins in all the way despite multiple attempts, so I just used a screw I had on hand for the 2nd handle. I could not get the first pin in further or pull it back out. You are supposed to hammer it in, but I had no leverage and the handle is plastic and I did not want to risk breaking it. I will get a lot of use out of the bench because of the convenient size and height. It does fold up nicely for storage. They even explain how to fold it so you don't get pinched...that is important!

I built this and i love it. Thanks for the ideas. One thing i did change though was moving the center stretcher up to the middle of the legs. In its original spot down near the bottom of the legs near the wheels, I could not safely reach the locks on the wall and hold onto the table safely in order to lower it down. Moving it up the legs a little allowed me to stand closer to the table/wall and control it better.

Interesting, finally, somebody that has taken the time to provide detailed information. I have a possible addition to the design. I live in an apartment which is accessed via a lift but, my garage and small workshop are in the basement. So in order to use the bench in the apartment or on the terraces, I would have to wheel it in the closed position. so, replicating the castor mounting system on one side mount a hinged flip out for a pair of castors

Thank you for making this video and for giving the builds that inspired you credit. I too was inspired by the same folding wall mounted table which you found, and have been appalled by more recent videos of people copying the idea and touting it as if they came up with it all by themselves. 2 thumbs up. I also like your personal tweaks to the design.

Hey, there. I just purchased both the Imperial and Metric versions of your designs. Here we are at the beginning of 2023, and I priced out all the materials recommended. We all know about 2022 inflation by now, and as of 29 January 2023, the cost for the shopping list, at the suggested sites, is $299.73!!! I am going to build it anyway. Thank you so much for helping me find the right solution for my garage workshop. Cheers, mate!

Hey, so I built it, and it turned out pretty well considering my skill level (which is almost NO SKILL). I was glad to take your advice on attaching the wheels differently to avoid having to shave off part of the bottom of the legs. It works just fine. The only thing I am nervous about is mounting it to the wall. This table is incredibly heavy to be just sitting on a 2x4 bolted to 3 wall studs. Well, the guy said it will hold so... You just have to be very careful when putting it up or taking it down, as this thing could do serious damage if it falls on you! Overall, very pleased!

EXCELLENT FOLLOW-UP to your original timelapse video. Although the timelapse video was very good, it was way too fast for a newbie like myself to understand the how's and why's of each phase of the project. I wish all creators took the time to do a follow-up or even add a voice-over to explain the "how's and why's of their thought process. I know that's asking a lot for a Free RU-vid video but it would be nice. I see that you are into papercraft. Thank you for stepping over into the woodworking world and adding a couple of really great videos to my "Newbie Woodworker" To-Do List of Projects. I'll be purchasing the plans from your site. Take care and stay safe.

I was waiting for a certain design to build my workbench and your foldable mobile design was perfect for me. I built it and copied your design with some modifications that made sense for me. I used double 2x4s for legs and 2x4s for cross bases instead of plywood. I added 3/4” MDF on top of plywood with urethane finish, this made it heavier and more solid for dog holes. Top is flush on one side and one end and has 2” overhang on other side and end. Put the wheels and hinges on one end only and attached hinge to side of leg as you suggested instead of under it. Added a long vice on the flush end. The legs can still fold with vice. The table is obviously more heavier than yours but still foldable and mobile. Thanks for the inspiration and your great video.

I built this workbench in which you inspired I thank you for that. I really appreciate the thought you put into it. I did take your advice and places hinges differently. I built it with threaded inserts in the middle lower support to keeping nice and tight. I also glued another ³/⁴ piece to do t-track it came out awesome. The pit falls is its a little heavier than I would like. But super functional. I've thought about also adding a face vice and tail vice and bench dogs. I loved building this your plans and video were super helpful.

I love this and is very well made! Good job! Only thing that might be hazardous is the bottom of the folding table resting on the 2x4 on the wall. The top has a safety lock, but the bottom of the table does not? If pulled out accidentally by someone, hopefully not a child... This could potentially & accidentally fall & injure someone without a safety lock! Just a thought... Very nice table thought, hats off to you!😎👍

I tried the hinges the way you said you could've. I found its weaker because the holes of the hinge do not center on the thin edge of the 2x4. The wait of the table puts stress on the edge and mine broke. I'm going to do it your original way as I feel it's much stronger

I think the bottom wall support might need a lip on the outside to keep the table from falling out if pulled on with too much force. Maybe take one of the two latches and put it on the bottom then recenter the top one.

@Sergey-wg7ne
@Sergey-wg7ne 3 года назад
I wish you spoke a bit more about how you actually put the table upright onto that supporting 2x4. I guess that's just a lot of brute force! Do you feel you'll be less inclined to use the table in a few years just because how heavy it is to avoid that move? That's my only concern as I'm planning my own workshop in a few years (and so far this is my #1 idea for the main work surface) -- otherwise great build and both videos are really enjoyable!
@kevola5739
@kevola5739 2 года назад
I believe the wall mounted 2x4 support is at a height just below the table top. When he rolls the table against the wall the the overhang of the table top is over the support. He can then lift the opposite side of the table using the wall support as a pivot point and shift the table weight onto the wall support. This way he is never lifting the full weight of the table. Hope this clarifies rather than confuse.
@rappere11
@rappere11 3 года назад
What is the smallest table with a 36" height could this work on? What is the height of your table with wheels? I only have space for a 5' table and was trying to calculate if the legs could still be in line. thanx Love the idea and the video.

Every time i watch one of these videos the Achilles heal is the legs. People get there 4 x 4 leg drill the hole in the centre then round off the top off the legs so they will fold. The problem is the whole of the strength of the bench sits on the top off the rounded off legs of the bench which then sits on whatever you have used as a worktop. The guy who did the original version of this bench calculated where the hole should be to keep the strength of the bench but also let the legs fold nice job thou

I like my tables to be 37 inches high. Since my Table saw is that high and my Small out feed assembly table is also 37 inches high. Also I would like my new table to be 58 inches long because on the wall where I have that much space between two wall outlets and would prefer not to block access to them when the table is hung on the wall. All of that gives me some serious design issues as far as designing the leg to fold up and not run into one another when folded up. I see some strength issue with your design. NO OFFENSE. And the awkward way one has to reach over the SPREADER bar to engage the Securing locks on the wall to hold thew table up on the wall.....

Must be shared with people for free. Can you do it for free?

Nope, they charge for it. But you could alter it, and then offer it free, or at least much lower cost.

Привет. Мне кажется, что в крючках нет необходимости. Но ваш проект нужно повторить. У меня гараж ещё уже, чем Ваш.
