I’ll be honest I respect people who like it but I DESPISE IT. It has Dethroned Decidueye as my 2nd least favorite starter Only behind Greninja and Me And my friends also hate it. But if you like it that’s cool.

even on gen 5 the overall number is in a downward trend, in fact, if you used it (which is the second highest point of the series) and set the downward trend to have gen 8 as the minimum, which only gets the bronze medal in how low it got of the pokemon games, you still get a value lower than 3000 by gen 30 and no it wasn't 58, 58*156 the highest number in the series by far is only 9000, it's not even close to close what math did yall even use?

@@-hello6177 i dont know. it was a decade ago. i dont even remember the result, much less the equation. i know we didnt use any downward trends. im pretty sure we averaged all the additions together, and used that. it seems like we also included different forms as if they were separate pokemon. mega evolutions, stuff like shaymin's sky form, etc.

100000% I feel the same way yet haven't been able to put it into words, but you put this perfectly. I feel it's a disservice to the fans to have an arbitrary number of mons available in the game when the franchise was built on the idea of being able to collect them all. Obviously, I don't think every pokemon should be catchable in every region, but they should be transferrable.

Right! I used to be part of the #BringBackNationalDex hashtag, and though I've come to appreciate Gen 8 in its own right, the biggest issue was that every Pokemon is someone's favorite, and not being able to catch them is one thing... But them not being coded into the game is another thing entirely. (Especially since they wasted space on things like separate models just for dynamaxing...)

Which is dumb. They'll never improve the models at that rate.

@@JayceCH. They lifted the SWISH models from SUMO, so... I think the problem isn't the Pokemon, but that Game Freak just sucks at coding and so there's a lot of unnecessary junk in the way.

You can also get it in the Great Marsh in BDSP. And Yanmega is available in USUM's Ultra Space Wilds. So it's definitely available in other games since X and Y.

I saw Mandjtv say something similar. It would've made sense for BDSP to come out in 2020, after all the Sword & Shield DLC had been released, then maybe Legends Arceus last year, leaving 2022, the 25th anniversary year, to be the start of a new gen, much like how Gen 7 started in the 20th anniversary year. I get that 2021 makes more sense for BDSP to come out (being the 15th anniversary of the release of Diamond & Pearl) though.

Same, a lot of people don’t like sun and moon because it holds your hand too much. But I find it comforting. I never feel alone. And I’m able to like the characters more. The rivals to me have always seemed bland and I never cared for them. But I really like hau. (Is that how you spell his name?) mostly because he seems to only have one brain cell and he really likes malasadas and when I was younger I lived in Hawaii. And sun and moon are Hawaii based regions. I was gonna pick Sprigatito...But I saw NSFW of it and now I’m traumatized. Also I see first staged starters as children so that made it worst. So I’m going to pick fuencoco. Or Quaxly if it evolves into a pirate duck.

@@nobodycares607 The wild area in general looks pretty bad, but I'm guessing that's because the online multiplayer in the wild area already lags like shit, and I can't imagine how much worse it would be if the area actually looked good. Though I only really ever used it to get Spiritomb in the Crown Tundra, so... I will not be complaining if it's absent in the new games.

The tree that literally looks worse than the OoT tree? That's far from the only graphical or animation complaint. There was some youtuber who used a cropped version in a Ocarina of Time video and people kept saying how accurate it looked to the game. Shit was hilarious.

I even saw someone say that Fuecoco would have an awful design if he didn't fit the theory. Seriously, just about every zodiacer that I talked to has acted like a little kid. Actually, no, little kids are mature enough to not think this is a problem.

they are called that because no one wants a freaking starter as a rat or a dog. i don't have to explain the rat thing because yuck, but dogs are just too basic to be a starter. a wolf maybe, but what kind of fire wolfs are there in anything? i guess there's some type of fire wolf in japanese folklore but it's just weird. a fox is still a canine so and it's unique enough to be a starter :)

Never understood what people have agianst rats, besides its pokemon so if people are willing and happy to have a spider pokemon I see no reason why a rat wouldn't work. Also a dog being too "basic" and a cat not is a crap reason. The zodiac theory is just a theory, one built on coincidence and stretching what counts as a certain animal.

Look, maybe there isn't a fire wolf in Japanese folklore, because maybe Fennikin isn't supposed to be a dog at all. Also, people would love a wolf for a starter; who said otherwise? Also, you pointing out that a rat being a starter would be a bad decision design wise only proves that they probably didn't go in that direction in any way.

@@imatooltoo yes. And fennec foxes live in hot deserts. So it would make sense to be a fire type.

I think "inspired" by the zodiac is more accurate. Cyndaquil is described as a fire mouse in the english translation and a porcupine in the japanese. Both are rodents, just like the rat. Fennec foxes are part of the canidae family, just like dogs, and are closely related (and Game Freak probs didn't want a third fire dog after Growlithe and Houndour). Personally, I don't think they intended to follow the zodiac (I doubt they expected the games to get more than 1 generation), but they got lucky with the 2 first being a decent fit and has loosely kept it up for fun. Fuecco might be the first to properly stray from the concept, unless a crocodile can be considered close enough to snakes, since they'reboth reptiles. But we'll see what it's evolutions will look like.

Exactly. The Zodiac theory annoys me to no end for that reason: My beloved Cyndaquil is not a darn rat! Yes it's, called "Fire Mouse Pokémon", but that obviously makes no sense (when has the Pokédex ever lied? lmao!), is probably a bad translation and even if, mouse aren't quite rats. I'm convinced that the Zodiac thing is at most a poorly executed afterthought that wasn't purposely realized before generation three or even later.

Niantic have never removed a spawn actually (delibird is a seasonal spawn) they just never released it. We don't have Kecleon, Arceus, Kyurem's fusions, or Zyguarde either.

@@SuperIsaiah I love pixel art too. Especially the 16 bit era or even 32 bit pixels which look much better than the clunky polygons. Also pixel art does show its age but it’s one of the those things that brings a sense of comfort and nostalgia. Like oldies music where it’s old and you know it’s old but it’s also good. Or like an older model car. It’s visibly old but is visually pleasing. Pixels are old and beautiful.

Even more so Cyndaquil: A mouse is not a rat and Cyndaquil being the "Fire Mouse" Pokémon doesn't make any sense anyway, given the facts that - it's designed after porcupine, echidna and hedgehog traits - has their most defining features, the quills, in it's English name - and it's original Japanese name, Hinoarashi, is literally a combination of the words"Hi" and "Yama-Arashi" - "fire" and "hedgehog"

Yeah. If they did it in Black & White, it would be better. Especially if XY still had its huge 450 Pokemon Pokedex literally next generation. And by the time of Sword and Shield everybody would be just fine with having only a small fraction of the Pokemon available in each game.

I think the dex cut is fine, as long as you can obtain all the Pokémon by any means on switch, with 3ds eshop servers shutting down next year it’d be kind of fucked if some Pokémon were just completely unobtainable

Yeah. It's such a shame that the Switch is so much weaker than the 3DS (that could handle 807 of the critters) even with them reusing all of the pre-existing models. Part of the fun of Pokémon (at least for me) was collecting all of the 'mons and being able to use them in future games. Along with trying out the newer 'mons. What's even the point of introducing new Pokémon if they're going to get rid of them in the next game? (Whereas a small selection of "old favourites" will be in nearly every title. Because circular logic is circular.) I'm not asking for all of them to be catchable in a single game (although that would be nice). But they should at least allow players to transfer in the ones they already own. Even if the issue is PvP, they could just have two different formats. One for the Regional Pokédex and another for the National Dex. Maybe with proper banlists (in Ranked) for the more powerful 'mons. But still allow people to use what they want in casual/friendly matches. But I guess that's too much effort for Planet Earth's largest media franchise.

I'm don't know about the other mangas, but in Pokémon Adventures (possible spoilers? I'm not sure but spoiler warning ig) So like in Adventures it was actually Ruby (Brendan) that made Sapphire (May)'s outfit which is just her Ruby and Sapphire outfit. But like during the whole legendary crisis plot Ruby refuses to help, and Sapphire stops wearing the clothes he made for her cause she's like super pissed at him. When they make up, Ruby gives her a new outfit, which is basically just her Emerald outfit but blue.

@@SnoFitzroy honestly as an Australia I feel very cheated that 3 Australian animals have been put in 3 different regions, all being very different from Australia, Kangaskhan from Kanto, I don’t remember where kanto is supposed to be in Japan, but whatever, then heliolisk IN FRANCE, which feels very wrong, though I guess the frilled neck lizard is also in Papua New Guinea. Of course Komala the koala appears in Hawaii of all places…. I feel so cheated that they can’t just make an Australian region

@@Cebeileo Kanto is literally based on the real life Kanto region in Japan. The original idea was to maintain a sort of illusion of Pokemon taking place in the real world. They dropped this notion beginning with Gen 2 though with the region being based on the irl Kansai region being renamed "Johto".

If you’re counting out the Incineroar line for Litten specifically, then you might as well count out the Charizard line too since Charmander and Charmeleon are a salamander and a lizard respectively

I imagine gen 5 remakes will come out in gen 10 because all of the mainline remakes except frlg have followed the same pattern 1 remake every 2 gens Also like these ones all came out in the generation which is theirs multiplied by 2 2×2=4 3×2=6 4×2=8 But well Game Freak could subvert my expectations all together ... But with gen 5 remakes, would it be black/white, black2/white2, or both?

@@happy.time.boredom Gen 5 was the only Gen to not have a remake and that was because they made a sequel instead which took all their time. I'm pretty sure we're gonna get a Johto remake for Gen 9. It would make sense for two reasons. One HGSS is older than Gen 5 at this point and Gamefreak did Let's Go before BDSP because FRLF was older than Sinnoh. Secondly all the assets for Kanto are arleady ready to be used for a Johto remake it would be a waste to not use them.
