My Dying Bride: Album Spotlight 

I love that you showcased MDBs entire discography. I talked about MDB also in one of my first videos. It's crazy to see how many of your "Tracks to check Out" are also my favourites of the albums as well. Great job on this video. Very interested in your bands sound. I love my dying bride I got into my dying bride in 2011 the first songs I heard was the songless bird the forever people she is the dark which I played on RU-vid at home and in my first junior school in Norwich and first albums I heard was as the flower withers turn loose the swans the angel and the dark river like gods of the sun so yeah it's a band that I have loved since 2011 thanks to Steve Howe,s vinyl collection and then my dad got me more into the band great video

My Dying Bride is such a phenomenal band. I don't have most of their newer stuff and listening to this has made me curious to go check those out. Thanks

Liam, thanks for directing me to your MDB road map of all their failures. Very informative and I think I'll start with Turn Loose the Swans and The Dreadful Hours to get started with. I can relate to having to go to shows solo. I had tickets to see Amorphis on their 30th Anniversary tour scheduled for earlier this year. None of my friends who like metal were interested so I planned to go see them by myself in Chicago. The tour got cancelled obviously but hopefully it gets rescheduled down the road. As far as US death doom bands, are you familiar with Morgion? I believe they were on Relapse Records.

A band that has been in my top 3 favorites ever since I came across their albums in a record store I frequent quite often. Great video . Subscribed

This was a fantastic trip down memory lane for me. I bought “Turn Loose the Swans” when it came out, been a big fan ever since. Only seen them once live on “The Light at the End of the World” tour!

I just came across this video tonight. I discovered them when "As the ..." came out, I came straight from a party, completely drunk and walked by "my" record shop. I bought the album, went home, put it on and fell asleep, hahaha... I must have seen them about 10 times until "Like Gods...", after that I lost track of them until the "...Barghest..." EP came out. I am still working on completing the collection. ...and you made me spend another 50 Euros on that CD box that I didn´t own....

Hey man!! Huge My Dying Bride fan since 1997...any thoughts on the recently reissued 'Towards The Sinister' demo from 1990??? I love the more amateur-sounding 'eerie synth' used in the songs (compared to the 12" version of Symphonaire Infernus et Spera Empyrium from 1991).

I'm a fan of them ever since Angel LP came out. I like their early stuff the most, but to be honest this is one of these bands, which never putted a shit album. Even that % album is not bad, different, but it's OK.

Loved MDB ever since they released Symphonaire! First time I’d heard violin in Death Metal & I was drawn to the melancholy of it!! Went to see them live, back in the day & they had the coolest T-shirt I’d ever seen, black print on a black shirt! I got to know the guitarist Andy a little bit back in the day through Enchantment, dead nice bloke!! I lost them after the % album, but I’ve since revisited them & really like their more recent stuff! Not got their newest release yet, it’s on my want list tho!! Great video Liam, loved it!!🤘🏻

As the Flower Withers & Symphonaire. I still have my Symphonaire long sleeve. The influence the demos, EP AtFW & Turn Loose the Swans had on me as a musician & my band cannot be overstated. 34.788% Complete I really liked as well. It has to be listened to as its own entity & not as part of their discography. Being a fan of Portishead, Nick Cave, Dead Can Dance I enjoy it very much. At one point, we did rip them off, but your first recordings will always rip those who influence you.

Turn Loose The Swans is my number one album by any metal band. I play it once a year as a treat.

I love “thy raven wings” from the album a line of deathless kings. My first song from my dying bride was “I am the bloody earth” from the album trinity and I ADORE IT!!!! And Feel the misery is probably my favorite album!

I love the old My Dying Bride stuff the most - Peaceville re-released their demos on LP last year called Towards the Sinster which I recommend, cheers.

Nice collection. Bit of a rubbish way to get into them I suppose. I'll have to check these out as they've passed me by. The 34% album has to have a story or meaning behind the title as it's pretty specific otherwise it's naff. 🤘
