My carry gun is a custom glock 17 that I bought from a sheriffs deputy, it's got a mag extender, custom dovetail and a ported slide it's had around 2500 rounds put through it and it's never been cleaned and it shoots better than it did when it was new

My favorite concealed carry is a .22 Hi-Point with a 200 round drum magazine, carrying a mixture of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet tracer incendiary rounds (no homo). Not to mention the Xbox trigger after-market part, as well as a short shifter kit, just incase I need to put it into fully semi-automatic mode on a whim.

I carry an M82 without a stock and an 8" barrel with a reflex sight that has a swastica reticle and I have a surefire with 10,000,000.785 lumens.

Dan, i don't comment a lot but had to on this video. Your are 100% correct on the mentality of those who carry. I get asked why i carry a gun ALL THE TIME. People always tend to assume i am expecting to be shot at or get attacked or something of that nature. I ALWAYS tell them, i don't ever want to pull my gun. I don't ever want to be in the situation where i need to defend myself or someone else. BUT if the day comes where i DO need a gun, for myself or someone else, i will have it and be ready to use it. I always say "its better to have and not need than need and not have." Thank you for adding this in your video!

I carry a Smith and Wesson m&p m2.0. Holds 15 rounds in the mag and is super small. It conceals well, has a light trigger with a super short reset for fast shots. Ambidextrous thumb safety, it really is an awesome firearm. Oh one more thing, it also comes with 2 magazine sleeves that slide over the full sizes m&ps 17 round magazines so I can use them in my compact as well.

Looking into getting my first gun soon. I appreciate all the info on various carries! I also agree with your attitude about "if"...I've seen situations and have been involved in a couple of scary situations without protection, hence why I want something to protect myself, friends, family, and innocents. But only IF the situation arises.once again thanks for the info!

Joking a side. The whole explaining the "hero complex" and breaking it down to people that your firearms is A LAST RESORT was nice. Some individuals do not understand this common sense. That is what gives gun owning stigma. It should be common sense but it isn't but you using your YT to explain this and reach many people is very admirable.

My favorite gun for EDC is the Walther PPK in 9mm, super super reliable, great with recoil, and since the barrel never moves it is incrementally more accurate, theoretically at least, and my favorite thing is it's size and feel in the hand. You don't need allot of ammo is you don't miss the first time.

I'm a HUGE 2A supporter myself, got my CCL in TN even carry a Badge that says Concealed carry permit that has backed off many a security guard when i purposely carry in malls and other places that ignorant people think i shouldn't. when i'm making a statement like that i walk around with a dual holster with .40's in each side usually a S&W Sigma SW40F and a Glock 23, and i actually have a badge on a belt clip that i wear then. Security guards don't bother me but they do gather around and watch pretty much everything i do the whole time i am there and armed that way. Most of the time i go with a pocket carry LCP and no one is any the wiser that i even have a weapon because it fits in my pocket completely concealed and looks like a wallet. no imprint at all and nothing to peek out from under my shirt or imprint to freak a cop out. and i never tell the cops i have it when stopped. ass long as i don't intend to pull it on them, they don't need to know about it. (i'm a former M.P. and i completely respect law enforcement) i too have the Taurus Millennium G2 PT111G2 9mm wth the Dual 12 round mags and loaded weapon indicator on top. GREAT concealed carry gun because of it's size though i personally am more partial to the 10 round .40 Cal version of that same gun. i also have the 9mm sub 2000 decked out in full tactical gear just to freak people out when i do open carry it by the sling (only happened twice so far) i have a 6mm bolt action i inherited from my dad and grandfather it's only ever been used for hunting but it's ballz on accurate up to 1000 yards, so it could be used for other things as well but it's loud as all hell. I like the 1911 format but yea it's pretty dated. i do however LOVE the new ruger 5 7 it's $650.00 and shoots 5.56 ammo out of a pistol, totally bad ass and it's 1911 style. but it's bad ass for what it is. the only other reason to own a 1911 is because they are mostlt .45's i would never carry one either. that would be like slowly throwing your thumb at someone. yeah it makes a big hole but it's slow as shit getting there. Nothing at all wrong with a Glock 23 i own one too and love the thing even though i still preferr my S&W .full frame 40 the glock 23 has become just as much of a favorite for me and it's sub compact size and 13 round mags would make anyone a force to be reckoned with. i usually carry a full mag and 2 extra mags when i carry that one could carry all 4 mags but that might be too much. i'm pretty sure there isn't going to be any o.k. Corral re-enactments i'll be getting into while i am out paying bills and grocery shopping. so 3 mags should do me fine. That Glock 23is a stout little fucker but kinda violent when it goes off. you really gotta anticipate the recoil with that one or your shots go way wild. Never shot an H&K before my S&W is my weapon of choice though dual 15rd mags and i run Sig Elite performance hollow points throuh it because they are a little hot loaded like the Plus P ammo is . You're 100% right about your reason to carry. i always tell people it's better to have it and never need it. than to need it and not have it. this was a totally sensible and rational video, and again i wish you and many others would re-make it or update it. stand proud with your American rights, i do every day even though my company forbids me to carry, what they don't know won't hurt them and i can always find another job (i work on and service ATM's) so there's that* KUDOS for this, proud of ya for doing it.

I had the EXACT same problem with my RIA 1911 where I couldn't drop the slide with one hand, unless I powerstroked it. SO I ended up giving it to my brother as a moving gift (he was literally carrying a 1920s TT33 tokarev). Couldnt get around that issue, so i gave it away and grabbing the new CZ P10C when it drops in the spring!

My first carry gun was a pt111 g2 and couldn’t stand it if I’m begin honest. Had feeding issues and the trigger was pretty terrible. I since then have made my edc a glock 19 with an O Light PL Mini. It’s a fantastic gun with no issues. My backup carry gun is a M&P shield .40. Needless to say when it comes to protecting your life and your family’s life, cheaper isn’t always better. Get yourself a reliable gun.

For a personal defense pistol I like something like the Glock 17. Hollow point 9mm will do more than enough to stop an attacker, more ammo in a mag than a .45, less recoil means quicker follow up shots and a shoot ability that can be managed by practically all shooters. But for the sure fun of shooting a pistol at the range, I love getting behind 1911s.

I have the same light on my Glock 19. Looking to put an RMR on it soon. Looking forward to see what comes out at SHOT Show. One thing, carry with a round with a chamber and learn to use the light momentary only. The strobe setting works by double tapping momentary-only (press down on left side or press up on right side). You can also get rid of the strobe setting with the 10-tap programming.

Had no idea you were into firearms when I started watching a few of your videos a little bit ago. Awesome man. But you don't carry your VP9 with JHP? Did I hear that right? You should definitely start carrying a good hollow point. For multiple reasons. I always like to use Speer Gold Dots but there's a ton of other good shit out there as you know. Haven't been able to shoot a desert eagle yet but I'd love to. Shot some 454s and 500s though. Good stuff man.

First pistol I picked up ever was a couple weeks back and was a VP9, even for someone with large hands the ergonomics are incredible. It came with adjustable plates as well to expand the handle :))

Ballistics are nearly identical between modern quality 9mm and .40. The reason to get a Glock is .40 is police trade in's that are pretty cheap. Also the nice thing about Glock is mags are upwards compatible. So if you have a G17, a G19 and a G26...the 26 will run with the Glock 17, and the 19 mags..

Just bought a Glock 19 for concealed carry. Anyone have suggestions for a good iwb holster?

My criteria for a carry gun (and what should honestly be benchmark for any carry gun) is that every function should be operable from either hand, and should be able to operate everything one handed. My M&P9c has an ambi safety, ambi slide release (with enough pressure, can be operated with one thumb, though it is hard) and the mag release is reversible, though I have trained to use my middle finger anyway (left handed). You never know what situation you could be in, so having a gun that is capable of being fired, mag emptied, dropped, reloaded, and slide closed with one hand without adjusting your grip is definitely a must for me.

I have the same 1911. They’re definitely outdated. But they are beautiful firearms and a decent one is a nice shooter. Props to your taste Dan.

Dan the reason you cant release the mag without shifting your grip is because they designed it that way. They didn't want the mag to fall out while you are shooting. You are supposed to shift your grip to drop the mag. You should get some training, it's very eye opening. take care.

My 1911 is my go to carry gun. It feels good, great stopping power, even more so with hollow points, and I'm accurate enough that 8 rounds is all I need. If you want more get a para 1911 they will take a double stack 14 round magazine. That being said it is NOT my motorcycle gun. It's big and the sight of it is enough to make you piss off. But not to easy with a 2 pound God gun. I'm looking for a good carry gun that isn't compact because I got big hands, and I'm not looking for a glock because I want a round in the chamber and glocks don't have a safety. BIG no no.

That's all that matters. Make sure you're comfortable with your carry gun. I carry the Springfield XD-S 9mm because it has an ambidextrous mag release because I'm left handed. I have a Glock 19, and i have to move the gun in my hand to hit the mag release like you. Good job finding the more comfortable gun, that what I did. Have to be ready in combat I feel.
