5:26 Tip: Set Volume needs to be AFTER play action, otherwise it will default to changing the volume of your device rather than of the HomePods. Love the video!

Thanks for sharing! I also have a podcast shortcut. Mon-Fri at 10:50 pm (around bed time) I get a notification asking me if I want to play nature sounds or a meditation podcast and it stops after an hour of play, usually I’m already asleep by that time lol. It’s amazing

Things is starting to sound like a great app. Shortcuts make it much more accessible. I loath having to create lists and projects manually and don't have Things but I am considering it now.

I just started using Dark Noise yesterday! Been enjoying it so far. I actually made a shortcut that lets me pick a “zone” from the game Taiji, and it will play a mix I have in Dark Noise and play the soundtrack for that specific zone.

With the "Change playback destination" option, the music comes from the iPhone and we play on HomePod Mini. But I would like to build a shortcut that plays music on the Homepod directly from a menu. quick feedback: use some visual transitions between sponsored and regular video sections. This was a bit harsh and I was bit confused what and when ended / started.

I just realized Panera has a shortcut to place an order. Do you know if it’s possible to place an order for a coffee of soft drink and it will recognize that your part of the unlimited drink club. I was able to get it to place an order but it looks like it’s trying to charge me when checking out.

I've used a wake up automation for years that triggers after I stop an alarm to play a podcast (ABC NEWS). The podcast exists and plays fine manually through the Podcast app, but in the last few months the shortcut gives an error that it couldn't find the podcast. I've rebuilt the shortcut several times and have the same issue. Anyone know how I might be able to fix it?

i got one of those wallets in 2019 and the little push tab snapped off after 2 months and i had to cut the wallet open with a Dremel to get my cards out...

When I attempt to use the Shortcuts Versioning shortcut, it gives me the error message "The file 'Backup' couldn't be opened because there is no such file." How do I fix this?

I’ve just found shortcuts to be frustratingly too unstable in general. Actions that I think don’t require too much memory will return an error notification maybe once ever 5 runs. The whole shortcuts experience to me just feels too rough.

Make sure you have the app Things installed and have set the things action to your shopping list project.

Seems like a lot of these shortcuts could be done as fast or faster just doing the task or using Siri. I don’t need to create a shortcut to add a calendar event when I can tell Siri to do it.

‘Wakey Wakey’ and ‘Sleepy Sleepy’ on my work phone. One puts the phone into Airplane and Low Power modes, sets the brightness to zero. Great for power saving at the end of the day. The other sets everything back to normal, ready for the workday. I have iPhone say aloud whichever shortcut is pressed. Gets a giggle out of the room 🕺🏻

I use a shortcut that turns off my apple TV and it also shuts off the TV as well - I name it ‘good night’ - so simple but better than trying to find the remote to do the deed.

Create, build, clean, duplicate, convert texts (HTML, Markdown). Create or duplicate folders. So everything to do work. 😁

Love the ideas, Chris. It seems some of the updates Apple has released may have broken some of these shortcuts. I tried to import the bag checklist, however, in the shortcut config, the "create draft in inbox" and "append draft" actions could not be found in the newest version of shortcuts. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Maybe it's my laptop but whenever I watch your videos, the FPS is really low.. It's like there's a 0.01 second delay with a ghost layer over your video. How can I fix this? It kind of makes it hard to follow.

I have watched dozens of videos on shortcuts over the years searching for any reason to use this functionality and I haven’t found a single reason to use it. I’ve never seen a shortcut that was vastly superior to opening the app you want to do a thing in and doing it in the app. People will admit certain shortcuts are buggy and don’t work 100% of the time. That’s a deal breaker. If I click on something, it needs to work every time. I feel like Shortcuts should be something I can use and it’s frustrating that I can’t find any reason to.

I made a sum up shortcut that’ll add all the numbers with the ‘$’ symbol. I mean, in my job someone sends me “bag $3, 2 bottles $10, 4 brushes $12…etc” and this shortcut will sum up all these amounts with “$”, getting 3+10+12 = “$25” as output… this saves me a ton of time since I do not need to use the calculator anymore
