I want to say thank you for creating videos related to social work. your viewers appreciate you! The SW is really small on youtube, I’m really happy i found your channel .
I am intent on becoming a licensed therapist, and to that end, recently got my, MSW with the intention of getting my LMSW to eventually become fully licensed. The issue I'm having is that I go to interviews, and they all sound like the same position. One of my first internships was at a case management office where I saw turnover and burn out like I'd never seen before, and I don't think I have it in me to do something like that for 2-3 years. But it feels like I'm being pushed in that direction, and I'm honestly starting to think that I made a huge mistake and got my degree only to be scared out of the industry. Make no mistake; I'm I have the utmost respect for you and those who do what you do. The ability you have to be in this life of work and avoid burnout seems like nothing short of a superpower. But I don't have your strength, and I can only imagine myself being chewed up, spit out, and becoming someone's client rather than succeeding. Am I catastrophizing, or have I indeed made a mistake?
Hello! I here you. I only did case management for one year. That’s just one of many job options for those with a social work degree. Be sure to check out the tons of other videos I have explaining many other options you have! Case management isn’t for everyone.
Ryan haha yea you kind of have to make the most out of your situation and deal with it when you first start out lol but you will find a way to make it work, I promise!
