How old are you? I’m 22 !! (June 18th 1998)
Where are you from? I was born in Barcelona
Where do you study & major? I study at the Ramon Llull University here in Barcelona and I’m majoring in International Relations (love it so much !)

Thank you so much, I loved the way you talk, you provide us a lot of details about this program, but i have a question, how was your english before you get started with the camp, and did you feel that your English improved after this program?

Aww thank you!! I have to say I had a good english level before going to camp (as my studies were all in english and because I worked in the states before). Either way, camp helped me to improved my level and to feel more confortable talking with people!

I might become a camp counselor this summer and I have a high chance of getting this job because my aunt and older cousin worked at this camp and I talked to the camp director on the phone and she said that she loved me aunt and cousin and to write their names down on my application so she knows who I am. I’ve been watching multiple summer camp type of videos and every time I do I get anxiety but this video honestly helped me and made me more excited. I was wondering, when do you get paid? Do you get paid at the end of camp like when you leave? Or do you get paid while you’re there? Because at some camps, the counselors have the weekends off and they go into town or something to get snacks, and I know all camps work differently so it has me kinda confused. Because some camps also have gift shops and I’m worrying about stuff like “what if I forgot something at home and I need to buy it at the gift shop?” “And I don’t have money?” It confuses me like I’m just wondering when you get paid? It could still be different but at least I’ll get an idea.

Hi!!!!!! First of all I hope you get the job! In terms of paying, we were payed every two weeks, so we always had money. Also if you forget something at home you can go to target or walmart at night (as in our case we could go out of camp and go to buy or drink something) I'm so thankful this video made you excited to work at camp. Honestly is the best thing that happened to me so I encourage you to work in a camp!!!!🥰

Ayy que ilusión! 🥰 sinceramente te diría que fueses tu misma, lo que les gusta es la personalidad de cada uno y que vean las ganas que tienes de estar con niños, trabajar con ellos.... te deseo toda la suerte del mundo pero seguro que te irá genial!!! Y tanto Brian como Mark son increíbles los dos!

we’re you allowed cameras etc at your camp? i love taking pictures and videos to record my memories and i just was wondering on the rules of recording the kids and having that kind of electronic if you’re not allowed phones x

Hey!!!! Phones were not allowed at camp due to the privacy of the campers (we had to keep the phones in special boxes in the main office). You can only have access to them during your free time!! Also kids were using their go pros all the time to record everything, so I guess that is allowed by everyone? Either way you should ask your camp always just in case!

Hola! Cuantas personas de staff habian en tu campamento? Estoy aplicando y me contacto uno donde solo hay 10 personas en total de staff, es pequeño y se enfocan en trabajar con caballos, me sugieres rechazarlo hasta encontrar el indicado? Gracias por tus videos y consejos

Hola Karine!!! Mi campamento era muy grande, así que de staff eramos como unos 100. En mi caso como el campamento era más general entonces había más gente pero supongo que si tu campa está enfocado en actividades con caballos solamente entiendo que sean poquitos de staff. Yo no te puedo decir si descartar o no porque creo que todos los camps son únicos!! La única cosa en la que tienes que pensar es que si dices que no a este puede que no tengas más aplicaciones!! Aún así muchisima suerte con todos los camps y a ver cuál es tu decisión final! 😘

Hola! Una cosa como es desde españa? Que estoy mirando para irme el verano que viene (2022) y me estoy viendo todos los videos jajajjaj y en muchos hablan de camp fairs y asi pero aqui no hay verdad? Es simplemente con la application online en la pagina de la agencia verdad? Y tia tambien que tal que fue siendo española? Que la mayoria de fuera son de uk o australia y me daba un poco de cosa ser la unica (pero a ver por el nivel de ingles no tengo ningun problema!)

Hola!!!!!! Justo antes del covid se hizo un camp fair en Madrid creo pero mayoritariamente se hace online! Despres por el hecho de ser española ningún problema!!! Si que es verdad que la mayoría son de UK o americanos directamente pero te integras super bien. Que tengas mucha suerte para el año que viene!!!!! Es lo mejor del mundo ya verás!🤩

Hi! There is internet at camp but in my case we only had a couple of hoyrs during the day to be with our phones. In relation to the activities, the staff participates as well in them with and make sure everything is alright!

The salary is not based on the month but on the total of weeks you are going to be working. For under 21, the minimum salary is 1500$ and over 21 is a minimum of 1600$

@@feliksrasulov9630 the minimum wages with americamp are: 1600$ for people under 21 and 1700$ over 21. Either way each camp decides on the wages!

Yes!!!! For the 8 weeks that you spend at camp. Again each camp decides on the wages of the staff and each sponsor (like americamp, camp america, work and travel...) has its own costs and its own minimum wages

In my case I pated 349 which included the inscription, the documentation coming from the US, medical insurance and others. At camp you don't have to pay anything (so you don't pay for food, or staying there) and then the flights I believe I payed around 500€. It seems a lot but then you get payed more than what you spent. I hope it's clear! Either way I reccomend you to look the webpage of different companies

You have to pay for the application and for the fees like important papers and the visa (each company that hires does it differently but by the end we all pay the same)

It's impossible to work in the US without a company that is your sponsor. So you have to pay the company for this, to get all the papers for you and for several insurances that are included

Hola Gabriela!! Pues no estoy segura la verdad, ya que creo que los americanos deben contactar directamente con el camp. Te recomiendo que te pongas en contacto con Americamp y se lo preguntes ya que ellos lo saben 100%!
