My honest experience after 6 months at the IU International University of Applied Sciences studying International Management. Instagram: @authormarielau
Wow, thank you a lot, Marie! I just applied for IU and it was a bit hard to find reviews like yours. Very clarifying. I will start my course a lot less worried now. Thanks again! :)
thanks for the video. to answer/add the questions that were not answered in the video. exams: for every module, you go through the registration process with an external vendor that proctors the exams, you join the exam with a camera that shows your desk, hands, keyboard and screen. your screen is recorded, both the video and your screen, if you fail you can re write. lectures: these are largely dependent on the course, the research/ theoretical courses that do not have exams as explained in the video as you submit a workbook, these are the ones that holds Q&A Sessions, but for other subjects like Discreet Maths, Computer Science and Java, there are Lectures, Sprints and Q&A Session, some are recorded some are not. Should you attend lectures or not? it helps to attend as sometimes you get to make friends when you are placed in groups for certain tasks but as she explained, most of us are introverted so we attend only if you have pressing questions which can also be asked on the Teams group. lecturers are very helpful. I have been there for a year now. i hope this helps.
hello first of all thanks for the info. Can you give detailed information about the expenses other than the monthly fee? I want to know if there is any cost other than the monthly fee on the website
Thank you so much marie, this video helps me so much i am from India and come Germany for my further studies and i tried for public universities but i couldn't clear the entrance exam of the university and then i think do search a private university and then i see your video this is a very big help for me i was worried about my future studies but because of your video know i dont need to worry and straight away take admission to this university thank you so much!!
can you do day in the life kinda video, how you study iu online, the class or something. this is really helpful actually, i also trying to prepare my self to apply to this uni
@@andymanuela111 I’ve come across this info, it’s written under the general fee explanation as extra small info down below. If you choose to study in Germany in their campus, you do have to pay 1500 more. After all I can’t guarantee, because I’m choosing the online version, no 1500.
Hey Lau, I'm glad I found this channel. It felt a bit like I was studying alone in the first few months, but now I am used and completing my MBA exams. IU is the place to be because you study on your own terms.
help please! hey have a discount of 35% online with 364 euros a month for online masters. But I was wondering, is there a bigger discount during the year? I really need to be aware of the lowest time and the biggest opportunities! How much do you pay?
I would like to do a bachelor's degree in psychology, is it possible to do a master's degree in psychology face-to-face at a university in germany or elsewhere in europe?
Have you joined the university? How is the experience. I heard they cut more fee then monthly as extras ? Is that true? I am really interested in the cyber degree and am really planning to apply just need extra precautions for fee details unannounced extra fine fees that comes out of nowhere . My parent are paying so I don't want to ruin their credit score etc. Could you please clarify this. I apologize for rant.😅
They said that it's possible to move to on-campus mode in 1.5 years of online study (Business&IT). Anybody can confirm that? It's not included in study contract. They said it to me on email.
Hello, For full time student how much time I need to keep and is it possible to both work and studying in the same time especially for the people who work in travel company as a guide.
does anybody know if you studied Computer Science BSc at IU could you later transfer into a higher semester at a public German University in Computer Science BSc?
Thanks so much for the video and all you explained…. And your video quality and video background is superb😊😊😊😊 and you look absolutely satisfying to look upon while you speak… I enjoyed your video until the last minute ❤❤❤❤❤ Please beautiful sister…. I have a couple of questions. 1. Is this university recognized and accredited worldwide? {Diploma} 2. The school fees is it paid by monthly or per semesters? Thanks so Angel 😇…. You just got yourself a subscriber 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
The degree is a german degree and sure is mostly accepted worldwide, but it all depends on your country and the company you will apply for a job at and the fee is usually paid monthly but you can request for it to be paid per semester
Hi. I'm considering taking my Masters at IU. What's holding me back os that I read that of you study under scholarships, your ECTS won't be granted. Is that true at all?
Hey, girl. Started at iu, I wanna ask if you could make a video on how you study or a study day in your life. I'm interested because I'm struggling a bit with studying the content
thank you for your comment. i am selecting the online university, this video is useful for me. Thank you. I have a question about searching the support material in IU? Would you have any online library where can find more information for completing your assignment? Thank you.
Thanks for a fantastic review and information. You mentioned about 50% discount for those living outside Germany. The website does not say anything about it. Please help with the process to get that benefit. I live in Norway and a Norwegian Citizen.
@authormarielau one more question - Could one enroll for part time Masters but end up completing well before time? Do we get any advantage for completing it faster?
The website does not state the exact price, but once you have applied and received your contract, you will be able to see how much of a discount you have received
hi Marie, im Bob. new student at IU and now im struggling to get my study module and how to pass the exam through online course. did you have any advice or contact that i can ask more about it? very appreciate your respond. thank youu
Many thanks for summarizing your experience and share it with us, but what will happen if after a one year of online studding I then decide to continue studding on campus, will it be possible to do that?
Hey great video, I am considering IU, does anyone reading this know if you can speed up your studies if you are comfortable with a course or you work more than expected can you just rush an exam and get through your studies faster?
@@svenmeyer4973thanks so much for confirming. I’m starting a BA in International Management in a couple weeks and it’s good to know that I can work through material faster if I feel comfortable.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I’ve been thinking of applying to this university for months now. But what holds me back, is that I heard from other students that they are charged some extra fees every month except the tuition fee of online studies. Is that true? I would really appreciate it if you replied to me ❤️
Your video was very helpfull as i was a bit skeptic of the university because ive been also reading some reviews and there were some bad ones that made me wonder wether i should trust it or not
Just so I understand, the minimum it offers is a 36 month course. If I was to work extra hard/have some knowledge already that would benefit me, could I finish it many months before or do I HAVE to work for the full 36 months?
help please! hey have a discount of 35% online with 364 euros a month for online masters. But I was wondering, is there a bigger discount during the year? I really need to be aware of the lowest time and the biggest opportunities! How much do you pay?
Could you please say is this diploma international? After completing bachelor's degree and getting our diploma, can we apply for a masters degree at any university? Thx
Hi I am a student from IU and I would like to share my answer to this questions. I believe generally speaking yes, but it depends on the university you would like to attend, cuz each uni would have different requirements but if we are just talking about the IU program's ability to get into a master I believe is a big yes. Besides the university' location you would like to apply for the master degree would actually have something to do with that too. That is some country may not acklode online degree, and yes IU indeed, as far as they said on the website there would be no "online" on the certificate some government would require the proof for staying in that country like passport record or so.
@@user-my3yg3nz8rexactly so there won't be a online word written on our degree but if the other University starts asking for proof of us living in that country then what we gonna do , I've lot of doubts about it
I have a question. Are there holidays? Or is it three years non-stop ? Like, what happens if you need to get somewhere for, say, a month and you miss the study? Also, I clicked on this video for a IU review and happened to stumble upon a fellow writer on the way! How cool! Where are your works on? Are you published? Cause I have a lot of questions for published authors regarding how they made it...
I'm enrolled in a German program, but I'll try to answer your questions regarding the IU: The amount of holidays depends on how you structure your studies. Once enrolled, the structure and time you use for the degree is up to you. However, there are structural recommendations by the university, as mentioned in the video. If you, for example, are unable to study for a month, you are free to continue studying just like before, just taking into account that you have to continue where you left off. All the material is available online as students are encouraged to study them online to save resources and be more sustainable. You can get the course book delivered in print to your address though. For that there is an additional charge to get course books delivered outside of Germany, but no additional fees for delivery inside Germany.
hi! can you tell us something about the "value" of the degree that you get at the end of your study program? I mean, does it have any recognitions in terms of workplaces, or other universities?
@@elinahakobyan766 uh yea I actually kinda did found some info about it , actually a month ago I enrolled in southern new Hampshire University ( online ) from there I got to know about it like you can enroll in other universities too if you want to do your masters from somewhere else .
Your video was very informative. I want to ask one thing about the assignments for the International Management course. How many assignments does a student need to complete per week or semester? I have currently been studying for a Bachelor of Business Administration at an American University, which also offers 100% online higher education, for 7 semesters. But since each course requires a student to submit three essays per week, it has been hard for me to complete all the assignments while working full-time. So, I am looking for another University that offers 100% distance learning courses with a more attainable course structure for me.
I am studying the BBA, which is quite Similar. I have one assignment for module that I have to submit. There are various Self Assessment Questions throughout the Module. I am doing it Part-Time, and do a module a month
@@svenmeyer4973 as a part timer, is there a limit number of modules you can do per semester? I was wondering if I am ahead of time, if I can pick another one..
@@crfreitas07 You get a certain amount of credits per Semester. I get 20-25 Credits, and therefore are able to do 4-5 Modules per Semester. If you finish earlier, you can ask to receive more
