Hi Brendan, Thank you for making this video. I am planning to join a PhD program at UNSW and currently I am trying to figure out the housing situation on campus. As you mentioned, they provide you food at IH do they have vegan/vegetarian meal plans too?

yes they do, as long as you indicate your dietary preferences. same goes for most of the other catered colleges in UNSW

How would you rate the UNSW gym? Is it worth a membership?

the location’s great if you’re living near/on campus. equipment is good as well and they have most things. u also get access to classes and the swimming pool. only downside is that it can get really crowded especially during peak hours

an alternative is anytime fitness if u prefer a smaller crowd and it’s open 24h (uni gym closes 10pm weekdays and earlier on weekends). they have branches near campus and price is around the same as uni gym (as of this year). but they have no pool or classes

are classes mostly online or held in person more often?

there’s a mix of online and in-person. before covid there were more in-person but now it’s like 50-50. in y3 there are also more clinical lessons so more in-person. hope that helps
