This was super helpful and insightful! I grew up in San Jose, lived in LA (Northridge) for five years, and have been in Oregon for 15 years. But I need a drier climate now for health reasons, and Vegas seems ideal to me. The Hollywood analogy makes a lot of sense, I went to that part of LA maybe two or three times in five years! 😄 Everything in Vegas being a 30-ish minute drive sounds so nice. And there’s so much to do beyond nightlife - great music venues inc. the Sphere, great conventions like CES or MagicCon, great sports now (especially with the A’s officially on their way), top-flight music festivals like EDC and Life is Beautiful (plus Coachella in driving distance). The prospect is exciting, and its valuable to get the perspective of another Californian who has bounced around a little bit!

I so appreciate this video and the real feedback on living there. I'm a cali native who's lived all over the US and is now residing in Hawaii. I'm looking at relocating to Las Vegas (the unofficial 9th island) for similar reasons - to be closer to family, to lower my living expenses, and to increase my entrepreneurship. I didn't want to go back to LA but wanted easy travel, and my uncle suggested Vegas.

You mentioned it, but I want to emphasize that one of the great things about Vegas is the ability to pretty much get anywhere within 30 minutes. In LA, you might need a couple hours to get across town to a restaurant or event, so you end up just not going. Saving lots of time commuting and getting around is a big plus for Vegas.

We are definitely moving to Vegas, our timeline is not locked in yet. Looking to move there after my daughter finishes up her masters program Fall 2024. We are all born and raised in L.A., absolutely love it here but it has gotten too expensive, love our beaches and weather, except it has been very humid here the last 2 summers, and i prefer the dry heat. Vegas is practically our second home, we go that much. So we've been there for every season, i hate those summers😢.

Useful video! We have to move to Vegas due to military orders… it’s stressful looking for a home. Because of the market I’m thinking we should rent for a while and consider buying later. Im looking in centennial hills. Very interesting about the car situation as my husband really wants to get a hybrid car because of his commute to Creech. We being in LV for 40yrs, its has change for the worst. Theres to many ppl moving for everywhere bringing their bad habits. The 70’s & 80’s were the best, the sad thing is those time will never come back. We are hoping to move out real soon🙏. I have lived in a few places in the west and moved to Vegas (Henderson) in Sept 2021. It is not a good fit for me but that is more about Henderson than Vegas. The food down here is terrible. Traffic is nuts and the drivers are worse than anywhere I have seen. NEVER drive on the main freeway (I-15) past the strip on a weekend evening. It is thunderdome! Concerts are another big draw for Las Vegas. EVERYBODY comes here! Just know that this town has a vibe that is very different from other places. Some like it, some don't. Close to 2/3 of people who move here move out in the first 2 years.

My experience in Las Vegas 89183: 1. Dogs 🐕 barking 24/7 2. Trash 🗑️ all over 3. Gang bang parties 🎊 all night in their garages 🤨🙄 4. Loud & racing vehicles 5. Education & Medical = 💩💩💩. 6. Vehicle insurance HIGH because of some many without insurance 🤨 7. 75% of the job market is 🎰 crap low paying jobs.

Cali people are very aggressive aka rude. Love my Vegas drivers as a person who does driving for living. Vegas drivers know courtesy versus selfish California drivers.

It depends on what you define as comfortable. Vegas will be give you every season with hot summers and little to no humidity. Orlando will give you high humidity, yearly hurricanes, and daily rain showers … I enjoy both personally

Maybe you haven’t been here long enough. Vegas is a great city with phenomenally restaurants, entertainment so on and so on. Just takes time to meet people since so many people from different places. We moved here in 2005 and love it. And, as for the drivers, they’re fine. I drive to Cali often enough and I’d way rather deal with the drivers in Vegas than California. I’m used to aggressive driving. I grew up in New York.

@@CB.LasVegas originally when we moved out we lived all the way out in 89149 by farm road and Durango. If you know where it’s pretty far out and back then was not built up much. . . I did not like living here much when we were there. About 2 years later we moved to summerlin up near red rock casino. Ever since we’ve stayed in summerlin and I’ve enjoyed being here much more.

I’m born and raised in Las Vegas and I’m 50 years old and I’m on my way to Atlanta. You’ll get tired of Las Vegas and move back to Cali or somewhere else. There is absolutely nothing outside the strip that’s even remotely interesting in Las Vegas. Trust me I’ve been here all my life .

Mr. Chris I am moving there on Nov 30th 2026 after I get enough money here in louisiana as a correctional officer in June. But the main reason why I am moving here is because I am trying to start my life over and be a patrol Police officer

The strip doesnt define the true Vegas. Vegas outside the strip is so chill , I love the vibe. Great plazas and restaurants. The strip is filled with pompous tourists and trash lmao. The locals dont care about the strip.
