I just noticed you posted so much that I've missed! I am working my way down the line and I'm so sorry that you had to close your shops. I own a pet care company and of course with everyone home, all of our business got cancelled as well. It's a tough time to be a business owner! But I know once this blows over things will get better! I recently left a hospital gift shop company that has about 500 stores across the country. I was an assistant district manager and the thing that frustrated me the most was their POS system. It has not been updated since what feels like the 1700s, and they also had an online store that you could purchase gifts for patients from every where in the world. But this POS system was supposed to keep track of what we had in each store.... it didn’t. And I don’t know what it is, but I’m so excited to see your POS system. Right before I left this company they started to integrate a online inventory system that was separate from the POS system, and on top of that they incorporated a separate rewards/newsletter mailing website. So a 40 year old company just recently started using 3 different programs and probably invested a ton more than you have in those programs. The POS they used was supposed to do it all, but it couldn’t keep up with the demand and the inventory and reward customer part of the system failed before I even started working there. I’m sorry for the rant but I have never been so happy to see a relatively new shop owner know what she needs and know what her store needs in a POS system to keep their store organized. Love it!

Hey Alli, my name is Belinda and I have had a dream for years so many years to even count , my kids are my main priority to me and now I’ve added grandkids but they all have seen me talk and talk and read my journals and looked at my vision boards and I have to show them if you keep focused on DREAM and continue to work in that direction your dream will come TRUE! It just seems like everything and their brother steps in my way and I hear you say you started your store at home online…. Could you please do a video of how you got that started… or you might have already done that and I just have not ran across it yet. How did you purchase your merchandise without going to market or did you go to market? Where I live it seems everyone buys from the same place online and I know if you go to market there is so much more to choose from and I don’t want to be like everyone else or even sell what everyone else sells… I want my Boutique to be different as well as what I have to offer and I want to be reasonable and also all the mammas who want to feel good and be f ashionable and not like her neighbor next door! How many items did you start with for your online store? With covid, my online boutique is struggling. I’m at the point where I need to make the decision to re-brand or close up shop. I only started at the beginning of this year (pre-covid) not expecting there to be a global pandemic. I have busted my ass, and invested so much to just close shop. I do not want to give up. Also, if anyone has any CC/advice please do not hesitate to comment.

What advice can you give me on doing my first boutique

I had a small boutique in Branson, Mo from 2006-2008. It didn't survive the economic crash in 2008. While I loved having a boutique I had a lot of merchandise damaged from the dressing room. Rips, stains, makeup, etc! How do you handle the customers who disrespect your clothing while trying them on? The amount of "clean up" was not worth the sale most of the time.

Where do u get your inventory? My wife is looking to open her own in glennville ga :)
