My Experience With Caffeine Withdrawal 

Huge synchronicity for me that you made this video now!! I'm also on a caffeine fast (day 5), because I want to regain the benefits of it. I noticed once I became tolerant not only was I seeking higher and higher doses, but I felt worse and worse if I didnt escalate and I wasn't feeling the positives from my coffee anymore. I've seen some pretty convincing research that caffeine is best used acutely (like 1 day on, several days off between doses), because the positive effects will taper off as your tolerance builds. That also apparently prevents those brain fog headache withdrawal symptoms. I can definitely confirm it takes around 3-5 days before that fog wears off and during that time I'm incredibly hilariously bad at doing anything. Super tired, super lethargic, etc. I'm really happy for you that you have a loved one with you to support you through it, I know these first few days suck. Well, here's to you achieving what you set out for with this one, I'm cheering you on!!

I have strong caffeine sensitivity. When I have no tolerance built up, a single mug of green tea may make me jittery, and I feel like I'm about to die after drinking half a Monster. I looked up "tea drunkenness" and it's described as a "euphoric, clam, yet alert state". Although most sources of caffeine just leave me scatterbrained, I can easily induce this euphoria with one or two weak portions of yerba mate. For some reason yerba hits different, lasts a whole day, and I even feel some sort of spiritual euphoria at higher doses lol In fact I'm sensitive to all substances in general. It's a blessing and a curse, because it forces me to live healthily and allows for easy mind alteration, but also prevents me from doing a lot of normal things, like having a casual cup of coffee with someone. Recently I started building caffeine tolerance for the sole purpose of being able to enjoy lots of green tea without side effects.

Yeh the price is the major downfall of energy drink addiction. Here in Australia if I want to get a Bang Energy drink it is usually around 6 - 8 dollars.

I only pay $0.20 per cup of instant coffee from my capsule machine (and it's good coffee), so money is not an issue. But yeah it's the same old story as any other drug. First it works for you, then it becomes your boss.
