My experience with Corneal Cross Linking Procedure, here’s what to expect.

Hello World,
I just had my cornea cross linking procedure, due to Keratoconus, and I’m making a series of videos to talk about this experience. This is the very first video in the series about my procedure, the upcoming follow up visits, and the overall long term outcomes of this procedure. I filmed this about 30 minutes after the procedure ended.
I do have extreme Keratoconus and my vision currently can only be (at best) corrected with lenses to 20/70, and even then, the lenses do not correct the triple/blurry/ghosting vision I have. This procedure, along with a Scleral Lens, is supposed to correct all this.
Remember, I’m not a medical doctor, and this is all just a retelling of my experience. Consult your own doctor about your own specific set of circumstances, and I imagine it is possible your results might be different.
Don’t forget to like and subscribe this video in order to see all future videos, and thank you for watching.

Optometric tech here- love that you shared this experience. The videos we see are helpful but it's always best to get an actual account from a patient. This is a frightening experience for people, having first hand experience detailed to them is so reassuring. Keratoconus is wild.

Just had my cross linking yesterday. It s now been 24h exactly since the procedure. The pain was almost unbearable last night as I struggled to sleep even though I had been prescribed with sleeping pills. From this morning the pain was a lot less though which was good. One of the main issue I had was the eye being so watery which I think was also causing irritation. This is now a lot better though. At the moment the only real pain is the constant feeling of having something like a foreign body in your eye. This feeling gets better for 10 mins only when I use the anesthetics drops. . Hopefully this will go soon. Thanks for you video 😊

@gforce3750 it has been a week now since the surgery and feel a lot better. The foreign body sensation only last the first two or three days thankfully. Now I have still got blurred vision but it was expected and also still high sensitivity to the light. Not a major issue though. Thanks for the support :)

I just got my second eye done. Sleep is key. Took 3 naps the next day. It totally killed the pain. The hospital billed my insurance for 2 eyes, 171K. My out of pocket added up to 1.3K total. broken down 1150 for my premium, 53$ visit free than a 75$ for initial testing.

I am going to do this procedure in october of this year and I wanted to ask: what happens if you accidentally move the eye while the laser is operating or even worse, when the surgeon is doing the thing with the scraper? Because I always struggle with keeping the eye still
